Hello, Heidi, Broni, Brenda, Susan, Theresa, Vici and Nola!
It's nice to see you posting, Susan! Hope all's well!
Theresa, we have missed you. So sorry to hear you've been under the weather and facing deadlines at the same time! Feel better soon!
Nola, I hope all is going well with your studies/papers! We're always glad to see you when you can pop in!
Brenda, I hope you're having a quiet, peaceful day to yourself!
We have snow today. (And straight through to tomorrow, they're predicting.) About 6 inches have accumulated since midnight or so, and they don't think it will end before noon tomorrow. I hope it stays north of Heidi and MizT!

Hi Julie.
Yes,very extremes in the weather everywhere. We have had so much rain with still more to come.Hope you can stay warm, and I bet it looks so pretty.
I'm studying on line this morning starting at 8.30.
I had to take the day off work as I couldn't arrange a swap with anyone. So now I will have the afternoon to relax a bit, before an early on Thursday.

My birthday is actually tomorrow here. We're going to be sorting and weighing last years calves. There are 8 heifers that I'm keeping, and the guy buying the others needs their weights to figure the price. This should be a fun thing to do in the cold and snow.

Theresa, sorry to hear you have been so busy and unwell. Cyber hugs winging your way!
Nola, I hope your connection is better for this online class. And what a wonderful treat - an afternoon off!
Julie, hubby liked the lasagna so much he had seconds, even with the ketchup in it... hehe. His eyes and mouth were so wide when he saw me do that. How are your exercise classes going? If you are keeping up with it you deserve a MizT Medal. (I find her efforts to stick to her diet and exercise plan amazingly incredible so have invented a medal in her name.)
vdV does fly bys, what does eaa do? Hmm, she tosses a lot of raw meat: growl offs? Shoot ins? Stop and goes?

Nola, I think it's nice that you can have a somewhat relaxing afternoon! Would it have been better if you could have swapped days with someone?
Heidi, when you say "we're" going to be sorting and weighing last year's calves, does the we mean you, you and Robert, you and the buyer, or you and IH? Since it's snowing, we'll hope IH doesn't buy you a new shovel for your birthday!
Suzy, too bad we couldn't see your hubby's face when you "adjusted" the lasagna's flavor! The good thing is that he LIKED it! The difficult thing is that it may be hard to duplicate the recipe for another go in the future.
I like your idea of a MizT medal, though I certainly don't deserve it! Let's talk after I've lost about 50 or so pounds and no longer have pain in my knees.
Hmmm, yes, we do need a name for eaa's quick visits - "grab-a-TOPPs", "TOPP-ins", can't think of anything particularly clever. I bet she could offer a few more clever suggestions to go with yours!

Julie, I don't know anyone who doesn't want to lose some weight. My personal philosophy is that if it isn't affecting your health, it's fine. Unfortunately the cases where our health isn't affected are extremely rare!!!! So far hubby has always fallen into that category - low cholesterol, normal blood pressure, all that stuff, even though he is very overweight. The affects are just starting to show now though.

Good Morning All.
Happy two day Birthday Heidi and another topp.
I see it is also Lee's Birthday today, have not seen her or Mary from Manly in a long time.
Brenda by this time you are probably picking Hubby up from the station.
Hi Susan, missed ya!
Vici, must check out your page for the pics, need to resize lots myself yet.
Nola, not long before your online class begins, have a relaxing afternoon.
Theresa, have you caught up on the 8 pages yet? Hope you are feeling better.
Julie, hope you don't get snowed in.
Zusy, would have loved to have seen hubbys expression.
Where is MizT?

Broni... Lee was on Easy earlier.
Suzy... "WE" means IH, Robert and myself. There's enough work for 3 or 4 people. First we have to move the calves to the other side of the property. Then we need to pen them up, move them into the working facilities and chute, catch each individually and weigh them. ( and record the weights) Then we need to sort them into 2 directions. The heifers I'm keeping need to go back to the pasture they're in now, and the ones for sale go into the concrete feedlot next to our load-out ramp.

My daughter is 33 ... I can't believe it ... where have the years gone? It's so nice to have friends on this site who understand. Well, off to make some supper and feed the kitties, dishes, etc (all that gninaelc prac!)

BTW, sorry about weather problems. Ice can be very bad. In '98 we had an ice storm that knocked out our hydro for 8 days and we lost a lot of trees on our property. We have a fireplace, but after four days of being totally cold and sick of eating beans, I moved into a shelter set up for the storm. I remember it was so nice to be able to shower and eat hot meals that didn't include beans. My thoughts to all affected by the storm!

Just popping in for a break from throwing away food. Yep, I'm going through the yrtnap and looking for expired stuff. WAY too much of it - I will have to be better organised in future...
Happy Birthday to Theresa's SIL!!! (Did I get that right?)
Heidi, I think I've said this before - farming is too much work for me!
Broni, are you in airconditioning or the pool today?

It is miserable outside. The temperature is falling rapidly, everything has frozen over, and the wind is blowing the snow into drifts.
I need to go outside after making supper and do a cow check. We were supposed to have a Cattlemen's meeting tonight, but for the first time ever, it was cancelled due to bad weather.

Just stopping in for a minute. Dad is doing well. Until they get his oxygen levels up, he is staying put. He has COPD from smoking for about 65 years and it is taking its toll now. Mom is holding up well.

Off to bed soon. It's gotten REALLY cold here..... 12℉ / -11.1℃, and still falling.
IH was complaining about working the calves tomorrow. I reminded him that it'll actually be easier on all of us because the deep mud will be frozen. I HATE being mired up to my knees in cold mud, trying to move quickly to get cattle to move the way I want them to, and having my boots sucked off.
