Katatude... on the bar on the top of the screen on my Mac is a place that says "Edit". Besides "cut", "copy" and others, there is a "special characters" When I click on that, I get all these great things like math symbols ∛ ∞ (~ 60 of them), arrows ➤ ➹ ➽ (~50 of them), parentheses«» ⎨ ⎬ (~30 of them), currency symbols £ ¢ ₣₠ (~ 50), Punctuation § ~ ‡ (~70), miscellaneous ☂ ™ ✄ ♧ (~ 80), crosses ✞ ✚ (8), stars and asterisks ✡ ✰ ❅ (44), latin (52), accented latin Ĥ á Ø (~ 190), digits ⅔ ⑦ ➍ (~ 80), greek Ψ ζ Σ Ω (52), ornamental punctuation ❤ ❢❥ (11), and braille patterns ⠿ ⡻ ⠣ (~ 400)

I'm back - ditzy blonde that I am I forgot I had booked my car in for a rego check this morning! All done now so it will be registered in time. Could have been late because I thought I had plenty of time... only to realise that was a month ago. Luckily it only needed a couple of light globes and wiper blades to pass so they could do it on the spot.

Glad the inspection went well, Suzy.
Well, I'm off for now and probably until tomorrow - got to do some shopping/banking etc and then a bit of a clean-up, have youngest grandie, Chloe coming tonight for a sleepover on her own while her Dad takes her big sisters to the Broncos/Titans game and her Mum has a much-deserved night out with the girls.

The only thing that would mollify her about not going to the football was having a sleepover with us. This is a first for her.

Good evening gang! Gosh it's been hard to find time at the pooter. My yard has taken over my life right now. This permanent water system over 2/3 of an acre is turning out to be huge! Lots of digging.
Anyway - just wanted to pop in and say "hi" before heading off to bed.

Hello, Everyone! Just popping in for a quick g'day. It's nearly 11 p.m. here, and hubby has his alarm set for 3:30 or 3:45. He needs to be on a plane about 6:20 a.m. to make a quick trip to Tennessee for his cousin's funeral. I won't be going, as there are things that must be done here. Speaking of which, hubby just notified me that one of the cats just peed on the carpet, so I'm out of here. Good night, Everyone!

OOOPS, I left my computer signed into the page for HOURS, sorry about that.
From page 188:
Heidi, I was wondering when you had moved lock stock and barrel. Just how far is Tami from you?
From page 189:
Kathi, that does sound cold, I would have done same thing.
Rolanda and everyone else, I have MSN again. Everyone add me as a contact please. I am Zukevine1 AT Hot mail.com change the AT of course and remove spaces. I had to sign in as a new person, forgot my old password, it was stored. I have missed my chats too!
Rolanda, could use some help with the quilt for sure! I can see why I put it away a few years ago hehehe. Think I have had it stored couple of years this time.
Suzanne, you are lovely in all your new clothes! The sunflower dress is my favorite. Your day sounded nice, glad you enjoyed it.
HEIDI, on my puter your characters show as little squares with hieroglyphs.

At least hubby wont be bored while I am away. He has ordered some timber to make a shelving unit for the engine room. He reckons he might take D#3 out to dinner and a movie tomorrow night. He's going back to see more trekkies!
We also did a 'gail' today and I bought some jeans to take away with me...which reminds me, better throw them in the machine for a wash, I hate that new jeans smell!

Good morning all! Just passing through. Had a busy and exhausting day yesterday picking up Brendan and moving his stuff out of his room. He hadn't really packed and even though the students had to be out of their room by noon, Brendan's check-out time was actually 10:45. He was scrambling to get everything out and was just dumping his stuff in the van. After two trips, there wasn't room for anything else, so I had stay at the van and rearrange everything! We finally did everything in!

I have to get photos together for Ian's school band. Their concert is next week and the music teacher asked me for pictures at the Senior Review Wednesday evening(Ian played in the band and the entire high school was presented in full uniform on the football field). It's going to take me a while.

all. I would have loved to sleep in later, but have to get going. I'm eating brekkie in front of the pooter, then I'm gonna have to lock up sheep and horses so I can make a corridor to move the cattle through. Then I'll saddle up one of the horses.... Red Hawk.... to gather up the cows and calves. They have to be moved from one side of the property to the opposite side, and put in the holding pens next to the working facilities. There's 2 ½ hours to do it.

Evening SA8. Heidi, I am exhausted just reading about what you have to do.
This morning I had to go to this employment place.
They were as confused as I was about why I was there. She said you do not have to work and they should not have told you that.
Centrelink office is right next door to this employment place. The lady rang them up. She said now go next door and and ask to see Dave and it should be all fixed up.
Into Centrelink I go, queue up, up comes a chick and says how may I help you? Could I speak to Dave please? She goes away and comes back and says no you do not need to. Just continue in the queue until they get to you and tell them you wish to cancel your Newstart Allowance. Oh I said the one I am not getting? She looked at me queer. I get to the desk and I strike a trainee.
She has to get her supervisor. I said I am here to get you to cancel the Newstart Allowance.
She looks at the computer terminal and says you are not receiving any. I know I said, I have tried to tell you this on 3 separate occasions but to no avail.
Oh she says you are entitled to a small amount of allowance. Oh yes, how much I asked? $8 a week!!! I leaned over the counter and said no thankyou you can keep your $8 as I have not wish to have to go thru all this crap once a fortnight to find a job and receive $8 a week.
Oh okay then, we will take you off the system, thank you I said and away I went.

There is a second part to this story.
How ironic really how things happen.
I actually do now have a part time job. I went for an interview today. This was via someone I knew. This is in a jewellery shop that is in a town called Wauchope about half an hour from me.
It is inside a complex that is a recreation of a Timbertown and mills back in the olden days.
Looks like I will work Tuesday, Wed, Thursday and Saturday. Start 10.30am each day and finish at 3.30pm. I work on my own so it is my responsibility on those days.
It can get very quiet and the manager said to me take your knitting, books to read whatever you want to fill in the time.
I have to wear period costume, so will have a long black skirt and have to wear some type of white top.
Hehehhe can you just see me??
She said I will send you over with one of the other staff next Wednesday and that is your training and then you are on your own.
I have known this lady for years and she thinks I am perfect for the job.
The best part is half of it will be cash in hand and anyhow I do not have to report to Centrelink now which is great.

Goood Mean Sudokuland! I am here this morning.
Sunny, 68 (20C) humid. But a lovely day today.
Brenda, that quilt has been in mothballs more than not hehehe. I am making a list of what needs doing, and just doing a small bit every day. I have always wanted a quilt with bluework flower blocks. I thought about mothballing it, really did, but asked myself, if I found this unfinished quilt and all the pieces in a yard sale, would I have bought it to finish and the answer was YES. So I need to get off my fat quarters and get started hehehe.
I did all the flowers back when I stopped smoking, something with my hands. I found the flowers individually on the internet, enlarged them to size on Al's big copy machine. There is a lot of my time in this quilt. There are a lot of memories also. A very good friend now deceased helped make lots of decisions when I had doubts. Another helped me pick fabrics. I worked on embroidering that border when in waiting room while Al had open heart surgery. Lots more I will not bore you with if it is not too late for that hehehe.
Here is a link to redwork flower patterns, these are NOT the ones I did but give an idea.

Thought it sounded weird Viv! Glad it is all sorted. I hope the new job is rewarding...
MizT, one day I will take a photo of the quilt my grandmother made me and post it just for you. She told me it is called a Baltimore Quilt and as far as I can tell it is all hand stitched. I'm too scared to use it.

Got the cows penned after a real rodeo. They wouldn't cooperate, and scattered in all directions at once.... at a run. They got a lesson in who's the boss. Red Hawk. He's faster and smarter than them, and they now remember that. I came in to get a drink, and gather up paperwork and spare ear tags for cows that lost theirs. The Vet won't be here for another ½ hour.

Julie, I hope you didn't have to get up 4.5 hours after posting! Though I'm guessing my hoping is in vain. A nap maybe?
Stella, I gave a DVD to a mum last week - it had photos and videos of her daughter singing. It was all taken with our little point and shoot digital cameras so wasn't great quality, but they seemed to really love it. Apparently her daughter keeps watching the videos...
