It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Tami, you talking about me there?? I resemble that remark

I am full of advice and most of it is worth not much more than you pay for it. I toss it out there, it is up to each one to decide what to take and what to leave.

Good night Tami, have a good sleep.

Heidi, hope your back is better, it is a good thing you have not needed pain pills much lately. Sorry the wrestling with Survivor has caused you pain again.

My body started complaining at me. I slipped on the step stool, taking down quilt parts. I did not fall and hit the floor, but made a sudden exit from the bottom step, turned the stool over on my ankle, and jarred my entire body with my sudden landing. That is enough to stir up the achies for me. I'm so thankful I have meds for when needed now.

MizT..... that is NOT a good thing for the body. You'll probably discover more things you wrenched when you wake up tomorrow morning.

Coffee break!

And may I say a wonderful advice page this is too! I got some great advice today and am acting on it....

MizT, hope you feel better soon. Meds can be wonderful things! I stocked up on some over the counter strong ones the last time I hurt myself and there was nothing in the cupboard! Hopefully they will expire before anyone needs them...

SUZY, thank you for your well wishes. I am feeling just fine at the moment, thanks to modern chemistry. It is like Heidi says, tomorrow will tell the tale.

It is turning cold tonight, mid 40's (7C)! IN MAY? Very unusual and we may have to turn on heat tonight. It is chilly in house, house did not have any residual heat from the day, with rain and unseasonably cool temps today. Two nights of this mid 40's , I imagine some record low temps for date will be set.

the only thing we can predict about the weather lately with any certainty is that it will be unpredictable.

Heidi, how cold will it be up there?

Had a very busy weekend, got lots of things done. The main one was that we chose carpet for the empty bedrooms: someone came out to measure and quote straight away (we live just down the road from the shop). They said they'd come on Sat. and lay the carpet, so I've spent most of the next day moving furniture, emptying bookcases, etc. Today I got a call saying they can't do it until a week later... Grr! I've packed up a whole pile of things, and I was SO excited to get it done so quickly, now I'm really disappointed, plus the place is a complete mess. I hate it when they make promises they're not going to keep. :(

Suzy, I know exactly what you are going through. My youngest should be getting down to some serious study for her final school exams to make sure she gets to university, but all she is doing is going out drinking with her friends and playing around with her camera and laptop. She is 18 and knows everything or so she thinks.

Brenda, I seem to only have a couple of minor twinges today, one being the bruise where the step stool landed on ankle. I am motivating around nicely today. I just could not sleep this morning. Back to my old "up at the crack of dawn" routine perhaps.

I think I will sneak into sewing room and trim the quilt center. I think I said earlier, when doing the quilting, extra fabric is allowed for the backing and the batting (wadding in Aussie speak?) So that must be trimmed fore next section can be added. This is a version of quilt as you go, so I do not have to force so much of the quilt through the throat of my machine, or deal with so much fabric and weight to get quilting done.

BEAN, I thought I was being safety first/ I stayed off the step stool the day before, even though that made me miss my sewing goal for the day. I was dizzy that day and thought better of using it. Yesterday I was NOT dizzy, and carefully climbed up to get the pins just out of my reach. I had them down, then stepped for the lower step. I stepped on the front edge of the step, which must be a NO NO, and the step stool flipped over.

You must know this is a very dangerous two step step stool, steps a full 8 inches (20 centimeters) high each hehehe. I will remember to place foot full on the step in the future. . . I HOPE. That is if I climb higher than the first step ever again hehehe.

Heidi, our low was 51 at small local airport and official weather station. I am glad they missed it on the high side, but my cold blooded hubby had to turn on heat. I do declare, since his heart surgery he is always cold if the temp is below 75.

HEIDI, I have been wondering something. Do you wear any kind of back support when you are doing all your wrestling with animals and many other things where you can injure your back. I have read wearing a support all the time is not so good, your back muscles would weaken, but wearing when you know this is something above and beyound your day to day activity would be a different thing. I am not aware where your old fracture is, but if mid to lower back, I am thinking something like those lifting belts worn by employees who must do heavy lifting. I have one I used when I had to help AL with moving lumber, back when I still could. It helped me be able to do that years longer than I could have without one.

In fact, think I will find it again today. Might mean I could cut at my table for a longer time between rests.

Good morning all! I don't know how you keep up here and facebook. I'm still trying to figure it out.
MizT, hope your ankle feels better!
Suzanne, maybe you can get a nap later on. I'm also feeling very tired this morning.
Brenda, don't you just love it when teenagers think they know everything! My girls have always been focused. It's the boys that get easily distracted here.

OK, someone asked for it, now showing on my page are the photos of the quilt in progress on my bed.

The center is trimmed and photos made, my goal for today. AND I am now at a stopping place till I can get my thread and batting.

OH wait, I could start cutting the fabric for the outside border. It will take some time, because I need to make up 4 sections and each section will have 5 strips, will be 2 bands of blue on muslin background when finished.

MizT: BEAUTIFUL work on the quilts!!! I can do needlepoint & embroidery, but I can't sew! I envy your talent dear!!!
