It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Tami, once you have it typed, does he proofread for spelling and punctuation - or just accept it as is?

Well - THAT was a surprise! Just goes to show that I don't pay any attention to the numbers.

I type what he writes. If he stays in the room, he can proofread. If he leaves, he gets it as is. He is starting to learn to look over my shoulder.

I do pay attention to the numbers. That is why there are almost 200 pages and I still have not TOPP'd.

Just finished supper. Gil was nice enough to bring home BBQ spareribs. He was making a delivery of mutton to that restaurant, so decided to try one of their products. It was tasty.

Hello lovely people.
My goodness, there's a lot of you with bad backs - hope you all can get relief quickly. MizT, what a good idea about the rice in the sock for a home-made heat source.
Also MizT - love the quilt, it's going to look fab when it's finished - well it does already.
Heidi - I'm glad Gil brought home the food. He obviously has some redeeming features. Look after that back of yours.
Hello to everyone else, I had lots more to say but keep getting interrupted by Hubby - raining in Brissie, can't work - under my feet - tearing my hair out.

Has anyone seen Wadgy's new forum? He ask us all to share what draws us to Sudokuland. I think it's a nice idea and am preparing what I want to say. He's such a nice man.

Time to feed dogs. Then I'll give Survivor more milk, and off to bed.... early.... for a change. Survivor really likes his milk now. This morning he let me watch him drink. He's learning.

Julie, it is amazing that the doctor came to see her! That's rare these days. So glad she has that kind of doc as now you don't have to feel bad when you can't get up there.

Tami, I do that spelling error thing too.

mmmmmm BBQ Ribs.

Again, I wish I was wrong about all of the bad backs out there! I like MizT's rice sock idea. We only have basmati in the house at the moment, but I think I will pick up some long grain next time I go shopping....

All I have is wild rice, and I won't use that stuff as a heating pad.

Suzy, cheap rice works just fine, so no name, generic brand is OK. Just need lots of it, and a funnel or something to hold top of sock open. When little sprinkles of broken rice pieces begin to escape the sock, time to make a new one.

Everyone with a bad back, get your Ice or heat and ibuprophen if you can take it and get some rest. Hope all better on the morrow, no matter what ails ya.

Thank you to each of you for the lovely comments on my quilts. Yep, a lot of work, but something enjoy. I am just so very glad I can work at it again.

I am off to bed, very tired. I was up too early today. Catch you on the flip side.

Good night topsiders!

I had to burn some CDs so of course I dropped in while I was here.

MizT, cheap long grain rice it is! Basmati isn't cheap, but it is low GI so we buy it. Plus a little Jasmine for when hubby wants to make sushi.

Too many of Ally's pictures on this page so I will go off and get ready for my student....

Hi everyone. It has been too long. Isn't that a lovely forum Wagdy has started?
Today I burnt off one of the piles out the front, two to go and plenty of leaves and twigs lying around to start another! Normally I would mulch everything but as it is on the 'blink' this is a quicker alternative to get rid of it all!

MY WEEKEND by Gail

It started off very early Saturday morning (3am to be exact!). I got straight up, showered and preened ready for the party in Adelaide that night. I got fully ready so I did not have to take my hair drywer and other fluffery as baggage on the airplane. Got to the airport with an hour to spare, so of course, I did sudokus! I was met at the gate by my father and we walked to the other end of the terminal to meet up with my sister who was also coming in from Melbourne, but on a different flight! Later that arvo we went back to the airport to pick up my oldest sister who was coming in from Sydney, then we headed out to the party.
My brother's 50th was a hoot. His speech started off by thanking the 75 people who were there, out of the 482 invitations he sent you were the only ones to reply! (He did NOT send out that many invitations! But there were 75 there.) My Sydney sis had printed out Matthew faces for the guests to hold up at him during the speech so he could look out at a sea of himself, how he looked 15 years ago, brown haired not grey! My brother had THE best mullet ever!!! For those who don't know what that is, it is a haircut usually described as business in the front, party at the back.

Gail - did your bro look like Poiter with his mullet?? Every time I see Eric Bana, I think of his early days in Fast Forward as Poiter.

Next morning, the family all met up at my cousin's brekky cafe and had a great feed and a good old chinwag. That afternoon, Bill, Sydney sis (Robyn) and I went and visited Mum's older sister and her hubby, who just turned 90 on Friday. An incredible milestone. Aunty Clare is about four years older than my mother, and looks very frail, so I don't think she will be with us much longer. I make a point of going to see her every time I get back home, after all, she is the family matriarch.
Robyn and I took Bill out for Chinese that night and when we got back home, we spent a couple of hours listening to some great big band records.

Not a blonde mullet Cyn, no! But it took him years to grow out of it. In fact, he still sports a shoulder length haircut, but it is not as bogan as it used to be!

It was another early start yesterday. coincidentally all three of our flights were at the same time so we had to be at the airport by at least 6.30am. Luckily Bill only lives ten minutes from the airport, so we only had to get up at 5.15am! So, with lots of kisses and hugs goodbye, here I am!
PHEW!
Oh, that's right, I had an appointment in the arvo, so got home, got changed, and walked out the door again!

Never mind Gail, my brother still has a moustache. He shaved it off once in the 80's and his kids laughed so much he grew it back and it's stayed - fashionable or not.
Glad you had a happy reason to go to Adelaide this time even though it probably brought back some poignant memories.

Hello SA8.
Gail, glad you are back safe and sound and had a hoot of a time.
All those with back problems or other ailments get better soon.
Heidi, Survivor sounds like a survivor and you did make me giggle about Angel hehe! BTW not sure I mentioned I did watch the race and was trying to figure out where millionaires row was but alas you had already left.
Should get a new laptop tomorrow (thanks to Teresa) so will be all set for later this year. Just have to load up all my programs eek!
All flinging food or sleeping I guess.
Love to you all.

Nobody about. I lost the bowls. Played an 85 year old but she has been playing for over 30 years, We had a good game and I enjoyed it. Very tiring as we stood for about three hours. Back was a bit sore but not too bad. Nothing like it was last year.
Sounds like a nice family weekend Gail.
Rather tired so I will say 'Good Night' to you all.

Good morning all! Another brisk morning here, 32F. It is supposed to warm up though. Errands to run today and snacks to pick up for Bryana to munch on while she studies for finals. I'll be going to see Bryana tomorrow to watch her last softball game. Last time I was there the game had been cancelled due to the flu. Her game is at 3:15 and it probably go two hours. I'll have to leave a little early because Ian has his Spring Concert tomorrow evening at 7:30 and it will take me 2 1/2 hours to get back for it. Luckily, they're having it at the museum in downtown Albany, so it makes it a little closer.

Sorry about the loss June. Glad you enjoyed it though.

Brenda, hope Richard has a safe flight. Too bad you couldn't join him.

Gail, sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Great idea to have all of the faces pop up. Was he surprised to see a sea of himself?

I think more of us have back woes than don't...you can imagine what trenching has done for my back the last week. I live with my back issues so much that I don't even think of mentioning them. Just do my best to take care of it when it flares up and take any precautions that I can. My back is what had me retired out of the fire department early - there were so many times I couldn't take the time to watch my back because we were responding to emergencies. Hope every one's sore backs improve...when the ol' back starts screaming, it can sure take away one's life until it gets the rest it requires!

Morning friends, slept MUCH better last night, and woke to a cold clear morning again today. I had best enjoy it, not many more of those expected, the cool mornings/warm afternoons I mean.
I am doing a Steve today, touch and go. I want to get started on the final border. I estimate I have about 60 strips to cut for that border. It is OK if I do not get ALL of them cut today!
