Hasn't let up all night, Broni, has it.
This is widespread rain not just local - at least where Broni and I live is coastal enough not to flood for long. Grasshopper is already flooded in (and she's way north of us, Suzy)

Just checket the weather radar Suzy - it stretches from Lismore/Kyogle in the south to Tewantin/Rainbow Beach in the north.

Hello, Everyone! Just a quick pop in to say Hi before I head off to a Homeowners' Association Meeting. Hopefully it won't be as long as last month's!

my usual Wednesday has had a change of plans.. Mum has woken up not feeling too good.
She has gone back to , I rung her Wednesday Club to say she wasnt coming, and tomorrow I will go and do my Grocery Shop.
Meanwhile I will nurse my mother, and get bogged in the Swamp.

If it wasnt for Real Life ( which gets in the way of Sudokuland!!) I would be finished in the Bog Swamp by now. I am about 1/2 way thru my sewing.

Dino and I are off to have lunch with Ian, Anne and Kate (Sydney). Ken has gone to bowls so he will not be with us. Ian said he is quite happy to look after all the ladies!

Hello, Everyone! Hooray, the Homeowners' meeting lasted only a bit more than 2 hours, unlike the 3 1/2 hour one last month. AND, we got enough votes to pass the new covenants and by-laws to be presented to the village and hope for passage by them.

My digital picture frame turned on automatically when the power came back on and I just looked up to see some lovely reminders of our trip to WA.

With no power you would get to spend your time listening to the winds and hoping your roof stayed on! It's times like those you need a computer/radio/TV to keep you distracted. I'm glad it's back now, and hope it is to stay.

I just got to watch your bike video too Cyn. Um, loony toons? death wish? nutso? But amazing!

Suzy - We braved the roads - did get a bit dicey with branches flying around, and went out for coffee then visited - you guessed it - Bunnings - the man's equivalent of a shoe shop.
It's south of us now but coming back apparently - still raining and windy though not as bad as earlier.

As there is no way you will ever meet her, or if you do know she is the person I am talking about, I will share an anedote - I couldn't live like this. I'm expecting a student in about 30 minutes. There's a 50/50 chance she won't make it. I'm actually planning a double session this week because she didn't make it last week. She has OCD. Last week someone who associates with people who take drugs tried to take something out of my student's back pack - not stealing, just a part of whatever they were talking about. My student 'had' to go home and wash her bag and everything in it. She even wipes her books over with disinfectant. And her hands were red and bleeding by the time she finished scrubbing them.

I do have my old transistor radio, still works - given to me by my ex-MIL on my 23rd birthday over 38 years ago. I could have used this laptop but waited in case it became a necessity later.

Cyn, I try to avoid the roads when it's windy now. Several years ago I had taken one of the girls to a birthday party. It was pretty windy when we left home, but not too bad. The party ended up getting postponed as the electricity went out at the venue and they couldn't get it back on. I drove 3 young girls home - or at least I tried to. By then the wind had really picked up. It was several hours before we could get anywhere as every access road to my house was blocked by falling trees. Our brick carport had to be replaced after those winds. So now wind kind of terrifies me!

Has the wind died down now? We have a Bunnings down here now. I like to go there to have a look around, so much stuff!!!

I was a bit scared as it didn't seem too bad at our place because we are protected by ridges around us but as we got to the crest of an open ridge, there were small branches flying everywhere. Your experience sounds scary.
As far as that girl with OCD goes - I couldn't live like that either. Where is the joy in her life - how awful!

She can't even use her own bathroom Cyn because her brother uses it.

Watching the news afterward Cyn, we got stuck at one place and ended up doing a u-turn and going back the way we came. At some point after we left the building we stopped beside had lost his roof and it had blown across the road.
