It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Lizzy, yes, you can grieve openly here, noone is gonna tell you no. Do let us know what we can do to help you, We are all here for you.

TAMI, do they limit the size of the photos on each page for Mitchel's report? ? I remember my girls at that age and they would be going for pictures that would fill half the page or more hehehe.

ROLANDA have s safe trip and enjoy your holiday. Hope your cold is a lot better.

Did I mention that hubby has a very nasty case of poison sumac or something? Back about 4 days ago, he was complaining of "insect bites" and even sprayed his chair, thinking he got bit over night. Since it did not get better and we were at pharmacy, I asked pharmacist if she knew of anything more we could do than we were. Hubby mentioned insect bites and she said " don't think so". Said looked more poison ivy, oak or sumac. The only reason we did not think of that, he has never been allergic before. He could come and pull or cut it from my flower beds for me and never the first bump. Well, we had already started same treatment she suggested, I had prescription strength cortisone cream and antihistamines. It seems treatment for bites and poison are the same. IF it has not cleared up in 10 days, then take him to doc. It has been 4 or 5 now, and it is better. He got to thinking where he could have got it, He only laid down in it, to check out some wires under house, working on the TV reception.

MizT.... as we get older, we develop more and more allergies. I had none until I hit my mid 30's. And IH has developed severe allergies to poison ivy in the last 7 years. Of course, he can't remember from one year to the next what it looks like.

Heidi - IH, he's such a treasure, isn't he? I'm sure that the older my hubby gets (and he is younger than me) the less he remembers too.

That was weird, I posted that message and I got an error message that Internet Explorer stopped working. I got it all going again and - voila - the message went through anyway.

Hi folks...I am back from being MIA...
Wandered over to easy to try and find some news on Jill and have been totally sidetracked catching up on some very interesting posts..in particular from our erudite bard [27th May]...it is so long since I have read easy...haven't even been able to catch up here.

Had intended dropping in and personally thanking everyone for their birthday wishes but with our on/off/on/off internet connection it is difficult to just keep up with the backlog of mail... I now realise it is nearly a month since my birthday and I consider it history now so please could all of you consider yourself personally thanked...

I have had a REALLY good idea for my next birthday...thought maybe I could talk Vici into throwing a birthday bash for me.... Do you think I could get myself organised and well enough to travel in 11 months?

I had the great fortune to see Vici's face in a wide variety of joy, mirth, and outright belly laugh expressions a couple of days ago. I don't know many people that enjoy life as much as she does. I totally agree that watching her expressions when she reads that post would be a hoot.

Feeling particularly satisfied with myself at the moment. Hubby and I went through our pantry and tidied it to within an inch of it's life! D#3 asked how long it would stay tidy...till the next time we shop I suppose!

Well done Gail, isn't it great when you can find things in the store cupboards. Though mine seem to untidy themselves even before the next shopping day, nobody does it according to them but the cans get all mixed up.

MizT, no wonder hubby's reaction was so bad if he was lying in it! I too have allergies now that I never had before. I can't even use bandaids.

Hey Keith! I'm jealous of your time with Vici...

Gail, want to do mine now?

Hi Brenda, how's life?

Hi Suzy, life is fairly good apart from the fact that my car battery is flat, and the car is blocking two other cars on the drive! Fortunately the little car we got for Andrew and Emily was over the other side of the road and I could use that to take Richard to the station this morning.

Brenda, that battery thing happened to me twice in the last couple of weeks! Both times I had to call hubby to leave work to come and get me because I had to be somewhere by a certain time...

Slowly Brenda, I'm going to have to be more forward with the teachers and push them to give me time...

Suzy, I'll do yours but I warn you, we are relentless. If it is more than a year out of date, out it goes! (joking, just about anything open got tossed!) I was amazed at how much old stuff there was, it just keeps getting pushed to the back. The oldest I found was something dated June 06!

OH GAIL, you did have that stored a long time! Now I found a a couple of things bit older than that, our in the emergency pantry in the dome. Stuff we carried out for the hurricane, I do believe, with some use by dates 2004. I "rotate stock" on stuff in my kitchen pantry, about every 2 months.

Good Maen Sudokuland!

Cool starting temps today and dew point (humidity) is less, it is sunny and a breeze, can't sask for better than that this far into the season.

HOPE it lasts, Al has to get the jungle under control. The back corner where grass and weeds get out of control after a good rain. It is whipper snipper time!

The saga of the bluework quilt continues. I know where I can get all the sewing stuff I need with the best selection possible and lots closer. I just have to wait about 4 weeks. the biannual quilt show from Birmingham guild is at a school that is an easy drive for me. I plan on going, there will be lots of vendors there selling all kinds of stuff. I might even phone one of the vendors I know will be there and ask about a new applique foot for my machine.

Everybody.
I've had a busy morning. Yesterday, 9 calves got out of the pasture, and on to the road. Some neighbors got them back in (I was at the Vets with Mason), but I was baffled as to how they got out. Late last night, on the phone, IH confessed. The top strand of the hot fence on one side of their pasture broke. He didn't tell me. Instead, he just turned the power off on that section of fence and went out of town. Since the fence was no longer hot, the calves squeezed between the wires and got out. So this morning, I moved them into another pasture, so I can repair the fence after I get back from the Dentists later today. I did have to replace a broken gate in the new pasture, but that one wasn't on the property line.
Now for brekkie.

It's damp, but not raining right now, and cool this morning. We're supposed to get thunderstorms again tomorrow, then a nice sunny spell for at least a week. We might be able to get the alfalfa cut, raked and rolled.

Heidi, not a good thing to have happen, calves on the road. I am glad you got that sorted out and all safe again. Nice of your neighbors to put them into pasture for you. Any more birdies sitting nests?

Good night DUGs, and hello to all the topsiders who might happen by today.

Morning all!

MizT, that quilt show sounds fantastic - but what will you do for a month? Start a new quilt? I have a queen size bed too - hint hint!

Heidi, sounds like the goats that used to live across the road. We always had to keep an eye out for strays when driving by.

Gail, ruthless sounds good...
