It's STILL raining outside. Fortunately, it's a gentle rain.

It is still raining here. Not complaining (too much) as we need the rain. I will have to check into my schedule and see about driving to Daytona on July 24. I work over the summer but might be able to take a day.

Suzy, I thought that might be what you were doing! Busy day today getting organised to go to Melbourne tomorrow. Want to get some washing done and dry! I agree about the shanty towns Brenda.He had to see Table Mountain as it looms over the city. We were not able to ride the cable car up due to it was closed because of the weather. We also got the last trip to Robin Island (where Nelson Mandela spend 17 years in goal) because the seas became too rough. Boy were they handing out 'paper' bags! (we did not use one)

I have a huge list of things to do around the house today and the next few weeks.A neighbor just cleaned his gutters out which reminded me to do mine.It has been years.Need to clean some cupboards out,bath the dog,vacuum the car and clean some windows.The sliding glass door is disgusting,so I will make a start now.I hope to get a few crossed off that list.Bye.
P.S. When I come back,I hope to find Jill on "Easy" has had her baby and all is well!

My big tractor is now running. A battery cable broke.
I still need to take the small tractor in for major repairs. The transmission went out today. It's always something.

Heidi, you should come down to Florida. My mom and I might take a ride up there for the day. It is about a 4 hour drive. Depends on if I can get the day off camp and how mom is feeling.

Suzy, nope, did not go to get floss, quilt is on hold for a bit here. Too much other ffuts to get done to play on computer and sew both. Guess which won?? Congrats on your pract, hope you enjoy it and know you will do a great job.

Muggy hot today, but creeks are down, we do not need creeks out of banks again.


Heidi, you should go, yes, meet people, eat food you did not cook, have a couple days of alone time driving in your truck. I once liked to drive, but nope, can't do it now. My back objects to driving or riding. I am so glad yours does not.

Tami, that would be a fun day for your Mom and you, I hope you can get the day off to go. Would be a shame for them to be so close and you miss visiting.

Nola, It is not fun going back cause you have the keys. I have done that on occasion back when I worked,remember it cutting into my off time. How long a drive round trip for you?

Hi SA'ers....Hope all is going well for everyone...An update to the news report that I spoke of in my last comment about the mother/daughter kidnapping...It seems to have been a hoax...its unclear what has happened, but the two were spotted on airline surveillance tape boarding a plane to Tampa, Florida. And so we wait for more to come in this soap opera....I'm just glad that the 9 year old girl was not in the hands of unknown kidnappers....its a horrible thing to be put in the middle of this type of thing by her mother, but at least I don't think she was exposed to physical harm...however, one never knows unfortunately....So sad...
Off to bed for now since I'm still sleep deprived and trying to catch up while I can....Peace.

Hi SA8ers! Just popping in while the Lakers/Denver game is on, 3rd quarter 2 minutes to go, tie score!!!! I may not have a voice tomorrow!!! I hate these back and forth games!!!!
Mamacita2, saw the news on CNN about the hoax today, who would EVER do something like that?? I can't believe some people can be so shallow & selfish!!! Do you think it was a custody situation?? That's what I think, it'll be interesting to see where this story goes!!

Yes, there are some very strange people out there. Who knows if the mother was involved in a custody problem or just very mentally unbalanced.
Had a nice nap. Now I need to feed everybody, and go back to sleep. IH is gone for the next 4 days, so I can have a nice break from stress.

I am SERIOUSLY considering the Florida meet. I have it down on my calendar now, and need to discuss it with IH (to make sure he won't schedule a business trip on those days) when he gets back. With my luck, he already has one scheduled.

Hi again.Haven't achieved much as I had to visit a niece who was on her way through to Weipa,from Melbourne.What a long trip in a car especially with a 2yr old.It is almost the lenghth of Australias east coast.Her brother works there in a mine.Tricia(niece)is expecting again too.
MizT..the round trip to work is about 30Klms there and back.
Will get back into the work now.

After reading your post Heidi,I can relate to that also.Greg is away and it is so stress free not to have to cook,and I can watch tv when I wake Very early without disturbing his sleep.I can't sleep without a background noise and he likes it very quiet.I go to bed early,he stays up late.I am starting to miss him now though.

Hi Gang! Just back from the city and a FABULOUS day with Kathi, Robert and Keith. I have posted pictures in my gallery. We laughed so hard. When I left to get back home, Keith was taking our friends across the Golden Gate to visit the Muir Woods - a wonderful coastal redwood reserve.
Now I need to get some sleep. Hugs all around.

It's the little things that excite us, isn't it Heidi. hehe. Love your woohoo about the mower.

Jane, wish I could mate, I'd be there with bells on.

On a sad note, Lizzy's old dog Sammy passed away this morning. They have been together a long time, and Sammy has helped her through a lot of sad times.
