It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

To those who remember I mentioned about 'Four Corners' featuring the Residential Care Home where my Mum is. If you saw the program, I just want to say that I still stand by what I said, I support the home and the wonderful staff there. I could say more but I won't on a public forum, if anybody is interested in more details, I'll have to tell you by PM.
Suffice to say that my Aunt and I went up there this morning to see Mum. One of the loveliest staff members was walking past us and I called her over and offered my support. She burst into tears and hugged me - and that is how distraught all the staff are - all dedicated caring people defamed by a story which wasn't researched even to the point of checking facts. This is what I may expect from our commercial broadcasters but NOT from our national publicly funded broadcaster.
Sorry - off my now.

Congrats on the TOPP, Cyn! What a disappointment that the informations was aired without checking facts. Here in the U.S., you could surely expect to see a lawsuit as a result of that. Hopefully other families will also share their support.

Now, I must head to bed. I hope the rest of your day goes well. Heidi may still be about, as I haven't seen her good night wishes. Perhaps she's feeding the dogs. Heidi, how is Survivor doing?

Good Night, Everyone!

Oh Cyn, I must have missed it but I can imagine what those idiots said, I find they never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

If you are happy with the care they are giving your mother Cyn, then that is all that counts. Let all the staff know how you feel, I am sure they will all be feeling the same way as the one you spoke to.

Back again! :)
Heidi - I've pretty much come to expect appalling service from tradesmen! We always try to be pleasant and considerate to them - perhaps rudeness would get better results? Neither sight nor sound of them today. Rob said he'd ring and give them what for, but he's flat out at work at the moment. No point me ringing - I know they would just make polite comments and then totally forget about me! We'll see what happens I guess.

Unfortunately payment has to be made as soon as the work is done, and I certainly wouldn't like to try not paying! The man had already gone when Rob asked me if they'd put the metal bits on. He didn't get time to call them back today. We'll see what tomorrow brings. And now I must go, because what it won't bring is dinner... and I'm getting hungry!
Farewell friends! :D

Evening all!
I think I have about a minute until dinner is served...

Broni, did Bella go to the farm with you? She would have had a ball!

Cyn, I read about the wreckage. Very very sad. And I didn't watch the story because I suspected that it would be just as you said it was. It really sucks that they can get away with it.

Judy, small claims court?

Hey Zusy, how is it all going? How many weeks to go?
Nup, this was a working farm with working dogs, Bella would have loved it but not sure the owner would have been impressed. 'Twas noice to have a few days away but travelling over 8 hours there a back certainly took its toll. I know Heidi would have creamed it.

Hi Broni
Just imaging Bella toddling around with the working dogs and it's putting a smile on my face. 8 hours is a lot of travelling. Tiring and muscle-aching stuff!

Another 2 and a half weeks to go. BTW, I need lots of thoughts for rain tomorrow so the athletics carnival doesn't happen - I really don't want to stand outside all day tomorrow when I have lessons to plan etc!

Woah there, missed you all!
Nah two weeks and you are on the down hill run.
Wouldn't you love to be a stay at home mum in our day?...but then again so many manual chores to do. Notice I did not say ffuts!

Broni, I have to admit that for most of the time I was a stay at home mum. I only went out to work when the no one could be found to be a 'Lollypop lady' where my kids crossed the road. It was a fast and busy road. After I married Richard I didn't work until the current business was started 5 years ago, when I took on the task of doing the books. Now I am redundant again and ambited to tears. I hate ffuts too

Ambited!! The predictive text on my phone did this and I didn't proof read before sending. It should have read ' am bored'

I know what you are saying about being bored to tears Brenda, that is how I feel too. I was a stay-at-home mum when my kids were younger, did plenty of bits and bobs, but not a job per se. Hubby started a business in 2000 and for the first time in my life, I started working outside the house full-time. I dreamed of days when I could stay home all day but now that I have attained that dream, I sort of want to be out there doing something again! Just no pleasing some people!

Exactly how I feel Gail. I would love to travel and see lots of places BUT I would hate to be away from Richard for any length of time.

I understand too Gail and Brenda - although there are aspects of being retired I love - like sleeping in if I feel like it, which really isn't that often or having time to spend in Sudokuland. I miss the buzz of working, the people I worked with (then) and the pace (non-stop - I learned to drink cold tea because I just wouldn't have time to drink it when it first landed on my desk). I was so organised, I started working when my children were quite small 6 & 4 (single mother) and I'm sure my house was tidier, food was healthier, I was slimmer, money was tight, treats were rare. Now there's just the 2 of us and I couldn't organise my way out of a paper bag! Ho hum!

Oh well, I'm off to bed.
Qld won the State of Origin (yayyyy!)
I probably won't get back here until tomorrow afternoon, babysitting 3yo Chloe tomorrow - she'll keep me on my toes. Might take her on a big expedition to Aldi to pick up some of this weeks specials and lunch out if she behaves herself.
Goodnight all.

I can't have a sleep in either as I have to be up to take Richard to the station, and then of course I have to be around on an evening to pick him up when he gets back from London...for him to start doing work at home too (sigh) I'm so hard done by (not)

Hello everyone. Just a moment before I head out the door (AGAIN!) to work on the sprinkler/drip system...still have over 700 feet to bury and then on to re-establishing plants that have been uprooted for the system and re-working the drip now that sprinklers are doing some of the coverage. I'm exhausted and there is still so much to do.

Hope I haven't missed anything really big with anyone - did pop in on Nola's birthday (thank goodness - what luck!) and I do talk to Bean a lot, so I ask about you all when I ring her.
Sending out big hugs to you all...I think of you all when I'm working in the yard, so I keep you all with me for strength to get through.
Hope Lizzie is doing OK, too.
Love to you all!

I hope I don't jinx it, but it looks like the drought may be about over. It seems to rain nearly every other day.
