It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Missed eaa.
Suzy - your Aunt may have meant that you should make some time for yourself. I'll bet your 'me' time has been your studies. I'm glad you did a Gail today. I remember my life when my kids were teens, I was working full-time - life was hectic. I don't remember ever just sitting in a cafe having a coffee and reading a magazine - something I do often these days if I find myself out alone. I enjoy it.

We just went out and bought a new appliance I hadn't heard of until yesterday. It replaces an electric jug/kettle. Ours is called a (Tefal) Quick Cup. It has a reservoir with a filter for the water and can dispense filtered hot water (at 90deg) or room temp filtered cold water at the press of a button. It is up to 65% more energy efficient than a jug/kettle. It is not an urn - the water is heated as it pumps out so it is only for those few seconds that it pulls power and not to the degree that jugs/kettles do. We drink a lot of tea (me) and coffee (Col) in this house.
I suppose I was the last to discover this!

Hello dear friends.
I did exactly that MizT, I took myself out with D#3 and we did a 'gail' and a movie. Saw that silly Year One and had a good old laugh.
I recommend a chuckle being much nicer than a weep.
I had a difficult morning. I rang all of my Mum's sisters (although I couldn't reach a couple) and told them I was thinking of them all, especially on their sister's birthday. They were all lovely and very understanding when I broke down to each of them! It hit them all very hard too.
And tonight, when hubby gets up from his nanna nap, the plan is to have a drink (first in ages!) to my mother's and Sully's memory.
Please charge your glasses everyone...
To Mollie and Sully, great loved, sadly missed.

Evening all!
eaa, book-keeping and beachy weather... what a day you're having!

Heidi, I didn't think of that! A man! Mind you, few of them would be comfortable saying that was their life plan out loud.

I wonder how much it will cost me to send that text? Only one way to find out....

A Geordie is someone who was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in the north east of England. By birth I am a geordie, but I lived just outside of Newcastle in a different county for most of my life. Even so the 'language' was the same. My niece in Perth said there was a tv programme about Newcastle/Sunderland to which the tv production company added sub titles so australians could understand what was being said

No, Bejeweled Blitz. Stinker!

I'd believe the subtitle thing! Though I think it would be easier to understand spoken than written. Maybe..

No I don't think you would understand it Suzy, the accent is very strong, even I have problems understanding someone with a really strong accent. I know we spoke on skype when you were at June's, I have an accent but not very much of one. My nephew came down to Stevenage to live recently and no one could understand what he was saying, it took me all my time to decifer it

I remember going to a friend's house many many years ago with my boyfriend at the time. My friend's father is Scottish and still has a very broad accent. He asked my boyfriend if he would like a little bit of scotch. David answered that he was very well thank you, how are you...

Yes well you would do the same with a geordie. I will try and see if I can find some clips of geordies talking on utube

Good news, bad news here tonight. We got a phone call earlier and Ebob has a job! The bad news is that 2 of her closest friends who also applied (there were a number of positions being filled) missed out. They are shattered. The worst part is that their experience is better than Ebob's.

Working at KMart for pittance an hour - which is pittance more than she is earning now...

Her friends are very quiet and shy and I suspect that is why they missed out even with their experience.
