Well I have to go out and take the car to the garage we seem to have a leak from the engine coolant.

Much better than nothing Brenda, and the experience will be even better than that.

I hope your car problems are inexpensive ones!

I'm off to watch tele with hubby. Have a great evening everyone!

Not going to be expensive, but I have had to leave it at the garage so that the engine can cool off before they work on it. Good thing the owner is the brother of a friend, he gave me a lift back home, or I would have been walking as Son is out and no one else could pick me up.

Thanks for the explanation about Geordies, Brenda. I had heard the term before, but didn't know what it meant.

I got up WAY too early. The dogs were barking like there was an alien invasion. I got up to look, grabbed my gun, and ran outside barefoot and in a flimsy nightgown. There was a coyote in the barnyard barely 200 feet from the house. It took off running (At least I saw where it got in/out) and I only got one shot off at it. I missed, but the bullet must have come awfully close.

Tomorrow I will have to get up at the same time.... intentionally. Lucky has an appointment at the Vet's first thing in the morning. He's having a small operation. Snip, snip.

Finished peeling the 4k of potatoes for the potato salad for tomorrow and cleaned the candle wax of the stove top after making snow flakes for our 'Christmas in July' Dinner on Friday night. (I thought the glass topped hot plate would be the easiest to get the wax off!)
Congrats to Ebob for getting the job at Kmart. The pay may not be great but the experience is worth much more and makes it much easier when she is looking for a 'real' job. Employers much prefer people with previous work experience.

Did the coyote get anything Heidi? Hope you have scared him off for good. I also hope you are not doing too much to soon with your back!
Hi Broni, hope things are well with you. When do you go west?
Suzy I think the text message cost is the same where ever you are sending it. When calling overseas on a mobile you pay the same but the person overseas gets the extra charge! We do NOT encourage our family to call us while we are away!

Cyn, thoughts and prayers for your mum and MIL.
Suzy, congrats to Ebob!
June, what kind of snowflakes were they? Sounds interesting made with wax.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to clear up some candle wax which got spilt last night.
We had two power outages last night. One around 9pm which lasted an hour, I was just going round lighting candles when power came back on, then it went off again round about 11pm for another 30 minutes.

Happy Canada Day! Kind of a yucky day here. We had violent thunderstorms yesterday and there were tornado warnings, but no power outage here and I didn't hear of any tornadoes touching down. I need the sun to come back so I can paint some windows!

BEAN, it was you hurling things at me? I know I did a lot of ducking hehehe. OK, in my defense, my site gave the temp much higher than yours did and did not list the ' feels like" temp at all. With a wind chill factor of 0C or less, and gale force winds, you bet your sweet bippy I would have been inside, with heat and my warm winter polar tec clothes on, Brrrr, that sounds very un-nice. So I stand with head down in shame for doubting that my good Aussie friends were indeed freezing, I shall not doubt you again!

Now I think part of the problem was, I was getting my information from too far away, the airport.

Good to see eaa and her furry little nose so many times on page 278. Congrats on getting the 11111 post! that and $1 will get you a cup of coffee, IF you choose the cafe wisely hehehe. Sorry you are having both a beachy day weather wise and having to do accounts both, cruel and unusual punishment! So what did you do to get that??

SUZY, in some ways, one must look after themselves, especially health wise, cause if Mama is not healthy, she cannot take care of the rest of the family. BUT seems this aunt has a different meaning perhaps. I am amazed that at 97 she is still living alone and in a house with stairs, Oh My! Now are those stairs outaide, leading to the house, or indoors, leading to a second floor?

Gooday everyone.
It's a bit early for a wine here, but I will raise a glass later in memory of Sully and Molly.Thinking of you Mama and Gail.

Congratulations to Ebob on the job Suzy!Hope she loves it.

My brother decided to have an afternoon remembering our Mum last Sunday, which was the 8th year since she died.He picked her wild flowers, had her photo displayed and treats that she liked eg crumble bars.It was lovely to remember her life without getting upset, which has taken us all a long time to do.The ones we love stay in our hearts and memory forever.

This may sound stupid, but I always wanted to have a wake before I die.A big party with family and friends celebrating a great life that I have had.

Great in theory but probably silly.

Good Maen everyone! Just popping in quickly. Lunch & mall with my friend Janet today...
Nola: my dad (who is 73 and still in decent health) said that when he dies, he wants a New Orleans jazz-type funeral, lots of music, dancing & celebrating of life!! I wouldn't mind that either. What a great way to be remembered, don't you think?

I'm intentionally not checking the nest box. I don't want to disturb the parents while brooding. I THINK we have nearly a week to go before the babies hatch, but the incubation could have started earlier.

They're sitting on 6 eggs. This is the pair that laid the first eggs, that weren't fertile. But since they laid a full clutch this time ( 6 is the normal number), I'm thinking that we've got fertile eggs.
I've been doing a LOT of reading, trying to figure out what went wrong the first 2 times we had eggs. The info I found says that the problems are due to young, inexperienced parents.

So, some things don't come naturally. For a tiny bird to have 6 eggs is amazing.Would they have that many in the wild?If so,they would be frantically finding food to feed them all.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your very warm hugs...they are most comforting!
Gail, I add my hugs and shoulder to help lift you up...hang in there.
I too lift my glass to Molly and Sully...they will live within our hearts until the last of those who knew them, or knew of them, is no longer alive....and that is a long, long time.
Life is not a singular state of being...it is made up of a full spectrum of experiences, people and emotions...love being one of the strongest of those experiences given and received. When we sip from the bitter brew of loss, we open ourselves to the realization that they are now free from worldly cares, pain and suffering..free to experience what is still a mystery to us...therefore we honor them and rejoice in this knowledge...so grieve as we must, since the mystery remains unknown to us, at the end of the day, we can smile due to the wonderful taste of sweet memory. We too are free to love and live knowing we gave it our all....Peace has found us!

Nola, You go girl! Have your party and celebrate life...What a wonderful thing to do...Not silly at all!
Sully wanted a party to celebrate, and that's what we had...live jazz, good food, good drink good friends and good memories to share....It was very up-lifting....afterwards and continuing, family has kept the wagons circled around me, yet I am keenly aware of the gap left by Sully's departure..However, I know that the distance will once again close...I just don't know when...therefore..I live and love because that is what he'd want me to do...You all help me to keep it going...Thanks.
