Oh, we know that Cyn!

I'm sorry, I have not read the pages from while I was away, so I didn't know anything about Em having an MRI. I am glad she got through it alright, and I hope the answers you get from it are the right ones.

I'm wishing you good news from the MRI as well, CynB. I hope it's the childhood epilepsy.

Everybody.
I need to get dressed and get outside pretty soon. IH locked the cows into a small pasture (that needed to be grazed down or mowed) without enough water for them. They're bellowing franticly. I shall have to open a gate to give them access to water.

My D#2 Emily passed her driving test this morning.
Now the problems will begin as she has to share a car with Andrew who passed his test a couple of months ago. The up side is I don't have to apy for any more driving lessons so I will be almost £100 better off a month. The down side is I will probably have to buy more petrol for the car as neither of them have a proper job so have no money. I don't think I benefit much apaprt from not having to give lifts all the time.

Well her first task will be to pick her dad up from the station tonight. It has become a bit of a tradition on the first day of their freedom to drive alone to pick their dad up.
I can say thank goodness that this is the last one for that tradition, we are all drivers now in our household.

Greetings Sudokuland! It is a much cooler, but damp and grey day today. My minivan is at the moment on the back of a car transporter, on it's way to the mechanic. I do hope he has great success with it, I do need a reliable auto here again! Al has ordered a radiator for his minivan, we might actually have 2 cars road worthy again by next week, nice, huh?

Getting ready for our trip to Washington in a couple of weeks...pulled some house listings off the pooter the other night. Looking for either a pre-existing home (or manufactured home in decent condition) OR a knock-down manufactured with lots of land that we can put a new home on. We talked to a few manufactured home builders on our last trip there. There was only one builder who had everything we wanted in their homes. The search begins!!! Wish us luck!
BTW, our friend Mike (Doc) is getting ready to leave for Iraq this week...Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers...He'll contact us as soon as he gets settled. I will keep you all updated as best I can.

I wish we had hard waste collections - and green bins. We get two 'free' trips to the tip a year. Those free trips get more expensive every year! They now have a minimum $ value for the 'free' load, and the cost of dumping is skyrocketing. Everytime there is a news story about people dumping rubbish illegally, hubby and I say to each other that it would stop if they didn't charge an arm and a leg to do it legally!

Nola, my cold is pretty much gone. Not sure what's going to happen over the next week though as Ebob has been exposed to swine flu. She only has to stay home if she develops flu-like symptoms. Keep everything crossed for us!

Suzy...I've got my fingers crossed that NONE of you get swine flu.

Nola, with my cold I was starving all the time! Couldn't stop eating. Do you go to a doctor with more than one in the office? We can usually get an appointment with the 'trainee' doc if we're in a hurry.

Warning - family anecdote..

A friend of Ebob's is dating a guy her own age. Good looking and fun.(?) They have been going out together for over a year. During that year this friend has also been seeing a counsellor for problems that sound a bit like OCD. The couple have daily fights This boy tells her she can only wear a certain outfit when she's with him, has never bought her a gift (in fact borrowed money from her on his birthday to buy himself something), is convinced that if she ever gets drunk she'll cheat on him, says he will call and doesn't, calls her a skank etc etc etc. Ebob is trying to tell her that she's worth more than that. In the meantime, Mum goes to the counsellor with her one day. After some discussion, the counsellor says 'it sounds like you blame your daughter for a lot of things' that aren't her fault. No more counsellor visits..... and no wonder she has such low self-esteem that she will allow this boy to treat her like this. Vent over.

Yes MizT...I am also a twin.Gemini twin that is.
Suzy...Ebob is a lovely friend to that girl to try and boost her self esteem. Some women are just not meant to be mothers and to stop counseling because she didn"t like to hear the truth isn't helping the girl at all.I feel very sorry for her.

Nola, I feel a physical squirmy thing inside me when I think about it. I want to change it, but know I can't. I lived through what her future could be as a child and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I thought the counselling would be helping and now that is gone too.
