It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Know what you are going through with your daughters split up. My husband's step daughter (his first marriage) split up with her BF of 6 yrs in February, she isn't reacting well to finding out that he has found someone else.

Julie, hugs for your daughter. Pleased you have another licensed driver in the family Brenda.
Really check out your diagnosis Nola, but then you are in the medical profession so you know that. Hope you soon feel better. I am enjoying Rolanda's trip in China, especially as it only about 6 years since we went there. A big country so some things she is seeing are very different to what we did.

Sending hugs to you Broni, sounds like you need them.
Hope non of your family get the Swine flu Suzy. Sharon's deputy told her if they get any at their school it will be best if she stays away from all the students. That is the last thing she wants!
Suzanne, did not read your post properly and do not want to go back searching but are you going to Washington State or Washington DC?.
Gail and Bean, love all your banter. I think I had better start doing some more box sorting in the next few weeks. Things are going to be busy and crouded here in September. Will probably have both MIL and Laura staying for some of the time.

Hello all! It's been hectic here. My mom came up on her way to Niagra Falls. She wanted me to come. So I made arrangements for Jerry to get her(he would have to take off work) and Bryana was going to come. The next day she said she didn't feel like driving all that way(6 more hours from my house) so she went home. Now getting ready to leave to go get Meghan in NYC. I just checked and it looks like her flight is delayed an hour. I'll be visiting my mom and staying there over night.
Love to all!

Stella, it did save you a long drive. I take it you have been to the falls, even if your Mother has not seen them. Hi Suzy, sleep tight tonight.
MizT, hope you now have your 'wheels' back and working well.

Hello to Stella, MizT, Cyn, June, Nola & anyone else I missed...
Beautiful day here in Utah, only supposed to be mid 80's today (better than mid 90's for the last 5 or 6 days)
I watched the Michael Jackson Tribute yesterday. I felt it was a very classy service...Seems interesting to me that Farrah died the same day and there was only 1/2 (or less) of the news coverage...I'm just saying!

Nola.... DEFINITELY get another opinion. Lupus is frequently suggested as a diagnosis if the Doctor is clueless about what the problem is.

Also... I don't believe Suzy was suggesting getting to know the mother better. Believe me, it will do more harm than good. I believe that Suzy was saying that she should spend more time with the daughter despite not liking the mother. If she spends time getting to know the mother better, the daughter won't feel safe confiding in her and trusting her. She will be terrified that anything she says will be repeated to the mother. And you have no idea how badly an innocent statement can be misinterpreted by somebody who is antagonistic. Some of my most traumatic episodes resulted from somebody repeating something that they thought was innocent to my mother. The problem was that they told her that I said ANYTHING to them.

Greetings SA8. I have been busy today, and somehow the morning has slipped away. I had to put hubby's meds into the 7 day planner thingy, I baked beer bread and made quiche, (my house smells yummy) planned dinner and got things thawed, sewed a bit, went for a short walk. I know there was more, oh, watered flowers, cleaned up K, since I left some things in sink last night after dinn dinn. Read a bit, I am re reading a favorite book since I ran out of things to read. I just forgot I had not been here.

Mechanic phoned, my vehicle is ready! YEAH! Al is working now, has a helper here today, so we will go later to pick it up. will be so nice to have my auto back again.

Today is not as hot, but still as humid. I like the not so hot, can cook yummy things when it is not hot outside.

OK a few more ffuts to think about doing today, perhaps I can come back later to comment on all the posts I read, all 3 pages of them. At the moment I cannot remember. Later friends.

Bobbie, thanks for letting us know TTT is having computer problems. Would not have taken long to be wondering where she was.

Broni, feel better soon sweetie, from whatever it is going on now.

Julie, good to see you here. You do a good summary of messages, but do let us know a bit about what is going on in your world.

Suzy, Ebob's young friend is so young to have to put up with an abusive boyfriend. Such relationships only get worse. Please, gather up your courage if you have too and talk to her alone. Ask her point blank, has he hit you? the answer she gives can tell so much. Do listen for the "but it was my fault" kind of answers. Hubby and I had to really talk a lot to help one of our daughters out of a abusive relationship that was escalating. Asking her if he had hit her seemed to be the one thing that got to her, and opened her eyes. PM me if you want to talk about this. I seethe inside when I hear of dating abuse and young girls who put up with it, so sad.

MizT.... when the self esteem gets that low, you become desperate for any sort of affection, even from an abusive person. That's still better than what you had, you believe.

Good morning! Still cold, but the sun is shining, so that's very nice. Hope you're all well.
Nothing much happening here - though tonight we're going out to see our son in the final of a talent contest. He's playing piano accordian in a band, just for a bit of diversity. I have no idea what kind of music, or if they're any good, but it's a night out, so better than nothing. It's at a pub, so not a high class event, and I've never heard them play, so have no idea of their chances - a bit of a mystery, but hopefully fun! :)

Just dropping in to make my important daily post...

Rolalogue 9th July…
Wow…what a day Rola is going to have..
This morning she will take an early bus to the base of Huangshan [these early starts would be killing me..]. They will then ascend by cable car to the Welcoming Pine [symbol of the Yellow Mountain]. From there they will walk to their hotel on top of the Yellow Mountain. Optional is the climb to the top of a peak. They will view the sunset from, and sleep on [in dorm rooms which sleep 6 people in bunk beds], the top of Huangshan.

Will be back to read later.
hope you are all having a great day/ night ...whatever... Ciao.

Heidi is right, I already know the mother better than I would like. Our kids have been going to school together for about 8 years, though I have been in the bad books since I got her younger daughter in trouble with her husband and the school last year. (I've told that story - Ally, bullying, internet). Ebob and this girl tell each other everything and she assures me that he has not hit her. I've told her that if they go out together long enough, it will happen, all of the signs are there. I told her Heidi's suggestion to have her friend visit more often and she looked very, very happy about that. So guess what I'm planning for these school holidays? I hate this. They are 15. Imagine what he's going to be like at 20, 30, 40....

June, that sounds like a good idea keeping Sharon away from the flu. She definitely falls into the at-risk category. Teaching is a bad job to have at a time like this.

Well hubby is taking me out for a gail and to buy me a new handbag. Am I lucky or what? Catch ya later.... hugs for your thoughts, it is much easier to think about Ebob's friend knowing that you are listening...
