A boy in Ebob's visual arts class has a confirmed case - the first one I've heard of in this area. There could have been others that I haven't heard of. There have been a few 'possibles' that turned out to be something else. The main thing I'm worried about is the kids getting sick during school holidays!

Suzy... why don't you try to convince that friend of Ebob's to spend more time at your home with Ebob? Maybe between the 2 of you her self esteem can be improved. There's no magic wand you can wave, but every little bit can help. Just think how you would feel if the girl was seriously injured or even killed by that boy and you had done nothing at all. I know that you cannot help everybody who needs help, but if you can only help one, this sounds like it. I remember going through that identical experience with the school councilor. Except after my mother ended my sessions, my stepfather severely beat me. I was fortunate to have a friend who worked miracles with my self esteem. Of course, the rest of the family despised him.

Sorry Heidi, I have been doing lots of ffuts. That is another of the drawbacks of going away. No fairies come in and do the things you left behind!

It's past midnight here. The dogs are happily eating right now. For some bizarre reason they like to do that every day.

CynB, I'm glad that Emily's MRI is done. Now just hoping for the best results!
Brenda, congrats to your Emily for getting her driver's license! Have you heard how your friend is doing?
Suzanne, this upcoming move/house hunting sounds quite exciting. Where in Washington state are you looking? Keeping "Doc" in positive thoughts!
Heidi, keeping fingers crossed for finch babies soon. Are the cows happier since you allowed them access to water?
Nola, sorry to hear your cold/whatever continues. Hope you'll be feeling better soon!
Suzy, glad to hear that your cold is improving. Sure hope Ebob doesn't get the swine flu! Concentrate on handwashing in your family! I hope Ebob's friend will do all right without the counseling, and her "boyfriend" has to go. I sure wouldn't want her to invest time and energy in that kind of relationship.
MizTricia, I hope your minivan returns home with lots of zip and zing and energy to keep you going! Hope Al's minivan will be happier when it gets a new radiator!

Heidi, how long does it take for you to put the dogs' food out - and how long does it take for them to eat? Do they eat twice a day - or just once?

It takes about 15 minutes to make their suppers.... they eat once a day.... and almost an hour to eat. Actually, most of the dogs take minutes to eat, but the two oldest are very slow eaters. Everybody remains locked in their crates until those 2 are done.

I have just had a msg from Rolanda and it sounds like she is having a wonderful time, as we suspected!
She says 'awesome landscape/scenery' and her chopsticks skills have improved! She is currently in a bus enroute to the Yellow Mountains. Left Shanghai at 8am for a 5hr drive x Rola

Heidi, thank goodness you found someone to help! How does one find a good shrink? (Boyfriend of 10 years has recently broken up with D2, and she's struggling. For that matter, I'm struggling, not knowing how to help, and D lives in TX, so I can't just give her some big hugs.)

Good Night, Heidi!
Thanks for the updates, Gail!
CRAFTs hit before, but now I remember about the hard refuse pickups. Some towns in IL have them, but none near us. I don't enjoy garage sales, so usually try to find someone who can use things like old furniture (nephews, as they went off to school or first apartments).

Afternoon all!
Sorry I disappeared Heidi, that was good advice. I don't have her over often as I don't get along with her mother (I wonder why?) and I probably should change that. I remember talking to you about some of the 'other' things that went on. Horrible stuff!
Gail, great news about Rolanda.

Julie, that is sad about your D2. That's long enough to hurt as much as a divorce. More if she doesn't have kids to keep her strong. Sending cyber hugs to her and you!

Hi folks…haven’t had time to read but thought I had best get the rolalogue posted…
July 8th Shanghai – Huangshan
This morning Rola’s group was taking a bus to Huangshan (the Yellow Mountain). After arrival and checking in they were of to visit the heritage street for a Yum Cha dinner. [do they mean lunch?] If it was lunch she should be feeling pretty ‘stuffed’ by now… they really know how to turn on the food! We had yum cha in the Forbitten City … or was it the Summer Palace…CRAFT’s…anyway…was unable to keep count of the number of different dishes that were brought out…. Have a photo which I look forward to scanning when I have time to sort the scanner out…
Catch you all later…

Don't fancy a 5 hour bus ride in China...
This answers one of my questions...it was obviously dinner that they really did mean for the Yum Cha!
Back to Blitzing.... [and not on Facebook!]

Wow, it's quiet here! Just getting ready to go to the gym (as you can see!) - Rob will be home in a few minutes (very early). I've made potato soup for din-dins: haven't had it for ages, hope we still like it. :)
Enjoying the virtual tour of China.

Hi all,am back for a short while before going to bed.
Suzy...I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "I probably should change that"about getting to know her mother.
Possibly, being a friend to the mother, you could build a relationship whereby her problems could be aired. The mother must have issues causing her to blame her daughter for everything happening.
Long term problem where you need to be the counselor though.
You have enough on your plate career wise.Too hard but worth thinking about.

The Dr said I had 2 problems, chest and sinus infection. On antibiotic and a puffer.
This different Dr also looked at my skin and said it looked like Lupis.
I am feeling very annoyed after being diagnosed and being told it might be something else.
Had a cry and am not going to listen to his assumption. I just had to vent and get it out of my system. I AM FINE.
Thanks for listening.
