Younger daughter feels it's her duty to be a juror, especially since she happens to be here when called. If she were called when she was back in Texas, she wouldn't be able to serve. By the way, she has also done jury duty in Texas.

Jeez... I'm off for a few hours, and you talk up pages! I decided to do a quick post before reading the rest, because I was afraid CRAFTs would set in AGAIN.
Bean.... I am green with jealousy. I saw Mandy Patinkin live back when he was doing Evita on Broadway. He was the only thing that could get me to go into New York City.

No, no , no. I leave TOMORROW night. If I left tonight I would have to wait for over 24 hours to get in the cottage.

And now.... if you all remember, I am on call for jury duty all this year. I have been called in twice now, and both times either it was settled immediately before the trial was to start or the person pled guilty. The only case going on around the time I was called the second time was a molestation case. The lowlife lived only 3 miles from me, and was charged with over 100 counts of child molestation. I would have loved to personally have castrated him before condemning him to the guillotine.

Now to feed the 12 remaining collies before going to bed.

I typed that post at 12.30pm at the bottom of page 317. Sharon arrived to pick up Laura. By the time we had lunch and chatted it was 2 1/2 hours later befoe I hit submit.

I was going to MIL's to paint today but it was too late by the time Sharon went home. Will do it on Friday and the weekend and it has to be finished by next week.

My kids are smiling patiently at me as I keep saying hey, guess what, I'm a teacher!

June, I was called for jury duty once; had to wait around for two days, had to go into the court several times while the juries were picked, and then, just when I thought I was safe, my name was called and I had to walk past the "accused", hoping like hell that he wouldn't like the look of me - "Please don't pick me!please don't pick me!" But of course they did! The whole thing was very nerve-wracking, but there were lots of delays in the trial, and we spent a lot of time in the back room (doing Sudoku!) - then, just when I was starting to relax and think it might be interesting, the judge called us in to say one of the lawyers hadn't done what he should have done... so the whole trial had to be restarted, with a new jury! Probably a good thing, because I thought the Accused looked downright shifty, and was almost certainly guilty... not that I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt... yeah, right! Guilty, your Honour!
