Nola, I hope today is the day for Greg. I hope it passes soon.

It's Saturday and I got to sleep in until 8 o'clock! Soooooooo glad the senior baseball season is finished. Practice for country championships are on at lunch time tomorrow. They never do well at those as most of the women either haven't played much baseball or haven't played in a long time, but they have a LOT of fun!

Just laughing about my guard dogs here. My neighbour is in my yard doing horsey stuff (I think he's filling up water troughs) and not a peep out of my dogs. I usually fill up the outside troughs when I put the old lady out so he is saving me a job! I noticed that the water troughs had been cleaned out yesterday too.

I saw Queen live too, in 1976. The 'Night at the Opera' tour. It was a birthday present and I actually went to the concert on my 13th birthday.
Oh Roger!

I can't remember exactly when I went. I was either at Uni or not long left. I've been thinking about it this morning and can't pin it down.

I've been to the Queen website and looked at their concertography (yes, that's what they call it) and the only one that makes sense is The Works in 1985, so my final year at Uni, 21 years old. I haven't seen many concerts.

Somehow we also got VIP seats to see Simon and Garfunkel. Someone knew someone. I saw the Moody Blues the week I met hubby, and The Guess Who when I was pregnant with Ebob. When I was probably 13ish, maybe a couple of years older, I saw, wait for it, The Ted Mulry Gang, I think there were about 50 people there, if that.

Just stopped in for a quickie. The boys have been delivered to mom's house. Hubby and ran home quickly in case she changed her mind. We also dropped the dog off with them. It is 8:30 pm and I still have not started packing. Plane leaves in 9.5 hours. Plenty of time to pack, sleep and drive to the airport.

Good morning everyone! Hope you are all happy and healthy today. :)

Heidi and Vici, glad that you're feeling a bit better. :) Heidi, hope all your baby birds are doing well.

Recovered from the gardening extravaganza - no ill effects at all. Time spent with lovely people, plus quite the feast laid out for us! :D

To everyone who wanted to know more about the surfboard/tooth story - it wasn't really very glamerous! We were mucking about with my brother's surfboard - my sister was climbing on to it while I held it steady, she fell off, the board came up, and whack - one dead tooth! I remember seeing all my family rushing into the water (looking a bit concerned!) Still, could have been worse, it could have been a broken nose, broken jaw, etc. Always-look-on-the-Briiight-side-of-Life .... (whistle-whistle, whistle-whistle..!)

Raining here today - of course: it's the weekend!
Tonight we're going out to see my son in (wait for it!) - Swan Lake! It's at a small? theatre out in the sticks - other than don't ask me, I have no idea, shall have to wait and see!
Not sure if I've put this on before, but this is one of my son's comedy/dance/"physical theatre" routines (He's the one without the curls, btw)-

Heidi, what's not to love? In the words of the bard - Monty Python rocks! Though they did get a bit silly sometimes ... And occasionally blew people up without provocation .... ;)

Bean, shucks, twern't nothing! I was expecting a cheese sanger, not a three-course feast!

Oh dear... that brings back memories... I LOVE 'The Life of Brian' also Heidi.
I lead a resounding rendition of Ozzie tourists singing
♫♪♪always look on the bright side of life..♪♪♫
one Sunday as we sat in the bow of a boat as we cruised down the Yangtze...
That bit is ok... the bit that wasn't quite so ok, and I am sorry to offend my American friends, is the circumstances surrounding it...

The larrikin is at times not that far from the surface in this little Ozzie Bean... We had just been asked to vacate the passenger lounge because the 'other' passengers wanted to hold a service in there and at the time I thought it was a bit of a cheek! It was as much our lounge as theirs... it was the way they went about it that got up the snoz.

I seem to recall thinking our protest very funny at the time. I hope that our fellow Americans were a little amused by the spirited and not to be ignored ozzies outside... Our Chinese guide thought it very funny... there had been a little tad of overbearing behaviour from the other group... haha... we felt they needed to lighten up.

Nola... my garden WILL be beautiful again one day... it was terribly neglected in the years preceding my mothers death and the area on Thursday that we were working on was a project I started before Mum died [2 years ago]...

It was to be a raised herb garden at the back door [save bending]. Work came to a grinding halt when she died and there is a great big stack of blocks where I used to like to sit outdoors under my favourite rose with a coffee...

Has Greg given birth yet?

Afternoon all! Tripping down memory lane again. You guys do that to me a lot. I think Judy, Bean and Heidi should have been at the Eric Idle concert thingy with us! I can't remember exactly what it was called, but it was something about making money off Monte Python in a not quite honourable way. The lumberjack song was done particularly well! Although the advertisements and tickets came with a warning, we laughed at intermission to see a mother with her pre-teen son leaving the show. The mother looked very concerned and embarrassed as she almost towed along her son who had a cheshire cat grin on his face!

Back to the real world...

Tami, have a wonderful time! What a bummer if you have to go shopping in NY! That would be hard to handle wouldn't it????? NOT!

Heidi, the owners come down about 4 in the afternoon and give the horses some more hay and the little old lady gets some stuff that is good for old almost-toothless horses. They also look after their blankets and brushing. Most visits are about 3 minutes long though.

Judy, now I can't get that song you were singing out of my head! Oh well, there are worse songs to get stuck in your head...

Bean, you were a cheeky devil on that boat! I am also wondering how many of the people in the service were wishing they were out on the bow with you...

I would have been next to Bean, singing. I don't understand why these religious fanatics think they have more rights than others. At the very least they should have asked permission from the other passengers before commandeering part of the boat.

Oh yes, good idea, something non-stressful Broni!

Yes Liz, it was great to catch up with me again today wasn't it?
We had a right old giggle and a couple of good 'bargains', but only if you wear them, hey Lizzy.
Have fun out tonight.
I got home to my world having been turned upside down...walked in our door to see the puter room in our lounge...not a good sign! While the cat's away, the mouse did play. I know face west when this morning I faced east. Hope this will give me luck on my games.

Evening all! I'm home for the evening and well fed with pork roast - hubby is a gooooood cook!

Liz did a gail with Gail! It's good for your ankles Liz, the old saying goes if you don't use it you lose it, so now your ankles will last a little longer!

Broni, I don't think the 16x16 is what I would choose to do when feeling yuck. In fact I don't think I could get my brain around it then!
