Evening one and All,
Still cannot get rid of this tummy bug. Not eating much and when I do I feel very bloated! Lots to do but no energy. Ken has a bit of a cold so we are walking around the house trying to keep our distance from on another. Neither wants the other's germs!
Sounds like a good time was had by Gail and Liz.
Broni, hope you are feeling a bit better. I did not even have an interest in the easy today, let alone any of the others.

BTW, if you are hearing stories of fires in my area, they are not near me so far. I'm not looking forward to this fire season...

It's a dark, cool, overcast day here, with a lot of fog. It looks like a good day to sleep. While I'm on the hydrocodone, I feel great, but sleep a lot. As soon as it wears off, I start hacking and coughing. My body could use the sleep, anyways.

Hi all - just wanted to share with you all --- I am so ANGRY --- grrrr --- rang for a Taxi to go to the party tonight at 7.05 they said not long - at 7.50 I rang again she said there are no taxis in your area but will put you through as a priority, please ring again in 15 minutes if it still hasnt arrived, around 30 minutes later I am still waiting to get through, getting close to 8.30 now over an hour late - eventually I get through, she suggests I ring this number and gives me another phone number - I ask well whos number is it - she says the other Taxi company as they have more taxi's in your area, I say why didnt you suggest that one to me at 7.05 when I first rang..... so I ask to speak to a supervisor, and get that angry with him that I cancel the Taxi - take off my make up and glad rags - ring sil and tell her Im not coming.
I am so angry - I need to take it further but where ?????

Heidi - so glad you are having such great luck with your finches!
Judy - nothing dull about your surfboard story. I cracked off half of my front tooth as a Freshman in college. Nothing glamorous at all...just sitting on my dorm bed goofing off with others, put a bottle of wine to my mouth to take a sip and someone jumped on the bed...bye-bye tooth! It cost $30 and 30 minutes to fix. It was one of the first treatments of forming a tooth onto the broken half (a product called "Restident" - I believe it has improved now)...but it looked great! I considered myself very lucky. Still have it to this day!

Good morning all!
Looks like it's going to be a cooker here today - and I have to work in the yard. Hopefully the weather is going to cool down as of tomorrow. I'm looking forward to fall and the crisp mornings and evenings.
June - so sorry your tummy bug continues. Ken coming home with a cold has me almost convinced to wear a mask when I travel down-under in October. I will feel silly, but I think it is the smart thing to do.

Cool blog, Vici. The only problem is that it wouldn't let me post a comment. Or maybe it didn't like me calling you two the "Demented Duo". It was meant in the most loving way, of course.

Morning all!
Heidi, it's a month until our fire season officially starts and 3 months until summer. It's not looking good... Sorry to hear you are still coughing.

Liz, how frustrating! Looking for the silver lining, you know who to contact next time.

Vici, I think a mask on the plane sounds like a very sensible idea, though I would probably feel silly too, it would be worse to ruin your holiday!

Family anecdote!

Mum told me yesterday that she had an almost run in with the Kingsgrove Slasher when she was in her teens! Apparently a neighbour across the road was a poor sleeper and used to sit on his front verandah during the night. One night he saw a man who fit the description of the slasher approach the windows of my mother's family home. He walked out into the street to let the man know he was there and he had seen him and the man ran away. Mum wasn't told for years because she was very stressed by the fact that all of the windows in the house were always left open because of her father's asthma.

Good Morning lovely SA8 people. Sunday 10AM - hubby is asleep in front of the TV!! Can you believe it? He did have a restless night so I'll leave him.
Hi Broni - how are you feeling today?
Suzy - scary family story! Makes my flesh creep.
Heidi - glad the hydrocodone is helping.
Lizzie - you have to try to take the taxi business further. I haven't had to use taxi's in years and it's just as well because they would be reluctant to come into our semi-rural little village - and take forever.

From page 267

Vici Said " I was getting a call-up from Suzy on Messanger. It kept coming up no matter how many times I closed it. So far nothing this morning."

That is what i was getting also and I had to block Suzy to stop it, came up every 3 minutes. It obviously could not get through on my e-mail, our antivirus got it there, but MSN evidently had a loophole it got through.

HEIDI, I was thinking about your baby birds the other day, wondering how they were doing, thanks for letting me know.

BEAN, your place is going to be so bueatiful for Vici's visit, you girls are becomming first rate garden restorers there. I think restoring an over grown garden might be more work than putting in a new.

LIZZIE, you get PAID to take the patients out to lunch at such a great place? thanks for the link, that is a nice place. If you got photos of the birds, would love to see them.

TAMI, hope the wedding was wonderful and you had a great weekend!

HI MAMACITA, good to see you!

NOLA, my FIL many years ago had a stone he could not pass, they took him to a therapy where he was put into a huge tank of water and sound waves were sent through, The sound pu;pulverized the stone, and he was peeing little sand particles (that did not hurt) for a while.

HEIDI, just how many birds can you accomidate in the current cage? What is your goal with the finches? Going to raise and sell them on a commercial level and not as a hobby?

I KEEP READING and I cannot catch yup! AND I was absent without leave, appologies, just busy!

yesterday was shopping, Groceries, and other stuffs. We did a lot. I got a new blouse for fall, and it is 2 sizes smaller than I had been wearing! YEAH! I got a hair cut also, much less hair to shampoo and brush now. We had our evening meal out, nothing fancy, just realized it was late and we were hungry so popped into subway. Al had a foot long, I had a chicken breast chef salad, yummy.

Today we recovered from the shopping and for me a night of not sleeping. I think one of the new meds is keeping me awake, not sure which one so off of all 3 of them till I can find out which. Back to the old pain med instead of the new and the other one is a muscle relaxer, I can do without that till Monday. third is for fluid retention and for my hair. Been loosing too much, if it keeps up I will be hairless! I think I had some success with removing the meds, I took a 3 hour nap today after only getting sleep in fits and pieces all last night. I think tonight will be better. I am drowsy again and bedtime is a bit away.

Today we had thunder bumpers, kept computer off for all afternoon. I think they have moved away now, just tiny little pop up t storms. boy it got cooler when they passed.

Well, I must go into that room and do ugly things with dishes and glass wear from dinner. Hope to catch you all again soon.

As to bird cages, I have 1 huge one and 4 big ones. Two of the big ones aren't even in use yet. Each of them can comfortably hold 6 to 8 birds. The huge one can hold 15 or 16 comfortably.
My new bird isn't feeling well today. I put him in a small hospital cage and started him on antibiotics. He seems to be feeling a little better already.

A very happy birthday to Chloe.
A very auspicious date. She shares the day with my Mum who would have been 96 today.
MizT, nice to see you and hope you soon get all the meds sorted. How nice to be able to buy two sizes smaller. A great feeling.

I bought a tree lopper in Aldi the other day so I have been doing a Bean, Gail and Co. in my garden. Just have to cut it up and put it in the green bin. I was going to the Sydney Garden Show today but still have a bit of a residual effect from that bug and it is enough to have people move some distance away. Could have been embarrassing.(Sorry too much info!)
Plenty of other jobs to do at home anyway.
