It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

Good Morning!
Nola how waonderful to have a 'new'car. My daughter has a getz and loves it. Costs her about 470-80 per week on fuel over her 4 wheel drive (Needs that for the horse float and works about 50k from home). You have a very special sister.
Broni, how wonderfrul that you will be in Melbourne for Vici/Bean fest.
Bobby,I can understand the dog being more trouble than the boys!

I need to rant!
Ken has a cough and I cannot afford to get it so have been trying to keep my distance. He is still in bed and when I went in he has his face in the middle of MY pillow, and on my side of the bed.
Lots to do before his Mum comes. She uses a walker so furniture needs to be moved a bit so she has clear passage.
Then when I get up this morning ants have invaded the kitchen (must be going to rain!) On investigation they seem to have come on the outside of the drainpipe and want to nest in the cupboard.Another job I did not need.

Thanks folks. Feel much better now!

Well that is a relief Broni... will have to discuss with the guest of honour and all the important attendee's because I do prefer a middle of the day bash but being Halloween that doesn't quite gel...

Have you got the gist of what I am saying....
Have NO bloomin' idea... rest assured that we will take into account your movements when we decide on a time...

Still not a good day. When I picked up the hydrocodone from the pharmacy, they only had 1/3 of the amount prescribed in stock. They said that they were ordering the rest immediately. Well, it won't be in until tomorrow morning and I am out. I'm back to coughing again, and every time I cough, it feels like my head has been hit with a sledge hammer.

Heidi - that's no good. Hope you get some relief soon. My hubby went out to do a qoute this morning and came home with a masssive (cluster) headache - he took some painkillers and has gone back to bed, probably sleeping on my pillow too, June! Why do men do that? I never sleep on his pillow.

Winter has returned to Qld today. At 6.30AM it was 15C, now at 10.45AM it is still 15C. Back to winter woollies. For how long I don't know. And it's showery - that's good for business, will make the grass grow.

Bobbi, my mother does that too! All animals seem to be male. It's Monday here already, does that help?

June, my hubby does that with my pillow too!

Heidi, you should be better by now. Frowning here.

MEN! Mine does the same thing. I always get up before him and when I come back into the bedroom, invariably he will have rolled onto my side...what is with that!
June, thinking of you.
Heidi, sending a hug.
Cyn, I know about cluster headaches, he has my sympathy.

Hello everyone!
Heidi, sorry to hear that you're feeling lousy again - this seems to have been going on for a VERY long time! Hope you feel better very soon.
Suzy, love your family's reactions to your haircut! Rob shaved his beard off once (long ago) - one daughter burst into tears when she saw him, another screamed and cried "Put it back!" (The boy and daughter 2 thought it was hilarious!) I actually felt a bit weird kissing him!
Rob never steals my pillow - it's too low for him!
Nola, that was amazing of your sister!
CynB - wow, a Jaguar! (wow, a Ferrari!)

Hi Judy! We had the same thing happen when Don shaved off a moustache... the same one (I won't name names - Ally) lay across a chair in the hair dressers sobbing while they cut my hair because she was so sure I wouldn't be Mommy when he was done (we were living in CA then so I was Mommy and it was mostly men cutting my hair). When I stood up she looked at me all surprised, smiled, held my hand and skipped away.

Another one of my children asked me very quietly if we could put it back, but she meant Ally...

I think I'll stick with my Prius.
BTW - I think he bought those cars to make up for his lack of personality, humanity and humility. There's a type of person who believes that material possessions like big flash houses, fast cars etc. are important. I had all of that with him and I don't miss it or him one bit!!!!

Suzy - oh dear! My son was also less than thrilled when his little sister arrived - he reacted by totally NOT seeing her lying beside me in the bed. I didn't want to make a fuss of the baby in front of him, so I just talked to him for a while, but in the end I said "Adam, look at the baby!" Well, he looked for a few seconds, then he went back to ignoring her! And he's never liked her, or got on with her, no matter how hard I tried to bring them together. Everyone else thought she was a cute, funny, happy little camper (ok, a bit of a strange one, but in a good way) - but it's only now (25? years later) that he's starting to see any good in her at all!

Cyn, I like your outlook on life. I got my Col first time around, and I would love a Prius too!

Judy, 25 years! How hard for you! Mine are more up and down. Ebob loved Ally for the first few months. When we had to leave her at the hospital when she was about 2 weeks old Ebob sobbed that we had to go back to get the baby. They have had good and bad days ever since, including the day she asked if we could put her back...

Judy/Suzy - maybe it's a brother/sister thing. I don't remember my son asking me to take his sister back but as they grew up, although I'm sure they DO love one another, they are just not close. They never contact one another and usually only see one another at family gatherings. They each seem to get on OK with one another's spouses and kids so I don't know what the problem is. They often 'joke' about which one was my favourite. I don't think I played that game. I keep telling them they ought to know what it's like to be the middle child!!! (You can guess that I am a middle child).

Oh, one more thing I meant to say - do you remember that my daughter lost all that weight? Well her brother has always been a 'large' man. When he came back into the family fold and saw how well his sister did, he decided to go for it as well. Started in May and has lost 20kg already just on his own will-power, no JC or WW etc. Proud of them both - now I'm the only 'large' one in the family.

Broni, it was an hour and a half since you had posted so I thought you were gone - not chopped liver, definitely not!

Cyn, we'll be celebrating our 20th next February. I am stashing away a few dollars a week so we can celebrate in style. Well, what passes for style with us.. which means, nice restaurant, no kids.

You go girl, those ones are hard to find.
My brother and I are close but will only contact each other for Chrissy, Birthdays and the like. Wwe both hate talking on the phone but when we do catch up we just pick up from where we left off and go forward, mind you I was the brat little sister from hell when we were growning up.

When I was preggers with my fourth, my son (first-born child) was most disgruntled as he already had two sisters. We spoke about it at length and his final words were 'If it's another girl, leave it at the hospital'...

He was 9 and going through a rough patch. He was a bit so-so about her for a while, but when she was a month old, I had a very nasty back twist and was unable to do anything for weeks but lay down or stand up and I had no strength in my arms. He was a trooper for me then. I kept him home from school on the really bad days and he would get her out of the cot and put her next to me so I could change her nappy and feed her, then he would carefully put her back into the cot.
He is a very special man.
