It may be faster in your area. I know it's a L-O-N-G wait here, but it is worth it. The relief is tremendous.

There was a big discussion on Health systems in the US, UK and Oz on Easy recently. It seems they're all letting us down. Waiting 3 months for a pain-management appointment is ludicrous! What part of the word 'PAIN' don't they understand? If a person is in pain, they need relief quickly.

There are too many people who need Pain Management. The Doctor I go to keeps insane hours. They start the epidurals at 7:30 in the morning, and frequently are still at it at 9 pm. This besides the surgeries. He's an anesthesiologist, like most Pain Management specialists.

I think it's sad that they can't FIX the problems that cause the pain. Hopefully with time medical knowledge will progress and the number of people needing pain management will decrease.
Sorry about your finch Heidi.
Cyn, umm. I'm resisting asking the next totally inappropriate question that came to mind.

One of my mother's friends had his birthday yesterday. He spent it fighting the local fires. We are far enough away that we aren't worried by these fires, but the possibilities for the summer ahead are not good.

LOL Cyn, I don't really want to know, my brain just sort of escaped on me for a second..
I love this statement, a man truly trying to cope in the best way he knows after losing everything in the LA fires...
"Ellad left behind a family heirloom Persian rug and a photo album he put together after his father died. "I'm going to have to figure out a new philosophy: how to live without loving stuff," he said. "

Heidi, hope you are feeling better.
Judy, my mom is 7 years older than her brother. When her mom was pregnant she kept saying she didn’t want a baby and she wanted to throw it out the window.
My mom actually likes Rachel. She just won't admit it. She always refers to the dog as "he" even thought it is a girl.

I am back home safely. It was a long day and we had to spend about 4 hours at the airport due to us being the last flight leaving. We all went together. The weekend was great. Had a fun time in NYC. Called my mom satuday night to say goodnight to the boys. We then jumped on the subway and went to Times Square. Got back about midnight. I told my mom the next day and she asked why I didn't tell her the night before. If I had told her she would have worried all night. She would be scared we would get lost or something and she would have called me every 20 minutes.

Welcome back Tami!
It didn't sound like your Mum really loved Rachel... Time Square sounds so exotic to me. And then, sigh, reality. I hope the kids are good to you tomorrow.
I'm back to being curly haired. It's me again!

Sleep tight Heidi.
I am off to have my eyes tested... will be interesting to see how much they have deteriorated... I feel like I am as blind as a bat!!
Went shopping with Gail [plants] and didn't come home with a single thing on my list. Had heaps of fun tho and the boot was full on the way home...[and the wallet empty].
I'm after a lemon [Meyer] to espalier, a mandarin for a pot and some strappy things [x4]... I'll have more money next time we go shopping and will be able to get what I want. [I wont have just spent half my money on Waterlogs!!]
Have emptied my wallet on goodies for the garden we will be emptying the freezer this week!!

You have a good one as well Judy...
I just about went cross eyed looking at frames trying to find a pair that (a) I liked the look of and (b) weren't horrendously expensive...
I mean to say, $500 for something to plonk on your nose and probably mislay...
I could buy a watertank!!!!

Good morning all! Busy here trying to get everything ready for Bryana to leave. Going to paint some more this morning before the kids wake up.
Sorry MizT that the pain is still bad and the doc's office is not well organized. I hope you get relief soon!
Sorry to her about your finch Heidi.
Tami, glad you had fun in NYC. At least the weather on Sunday was good.
Bean, that seems awfully expensive for glasses. I'm surprised it costs so much. I get a free pair every two years under our plan.
Off to grab breakfast and then head outside. I'm doing the top part(second floor) on the side of the house and I've realized that I'm getting scared of heights in my old age. Wish me luck!

Good evening All. Sorry about your finch Heidi. I hope he was still quarantine from the other birds.
With work I once had to met some men who owned BIG trucks. Their whole life evolved around their truck!A substitute!
This will be some garden, Bean. when it is all finished. I need inspiration (no someone to dig!!!) mine.
Played the next round in the bowls comp today and lost big time. Beautiful day outside in the sun though.
Pleased the wedding was such a success Tami. Love Times Square!
Suzy, they are telling everyone to start preparing for fires. It can make a difference. They are certainly horrific in LA.

Now have MIL here. MIL loved the work I did on her cabinet.
She will be here longer than I thought. She will still be here when I have my highly active 7 year old Grandson for a week. I am hoping Laura will be back home by then! By mid October I may have pulled all my hair out!

At the risk of sounding that I am lacking in sympathy June...I hope you are ok by November.....
I hope my garden will be beautiful again one day... it would be much easier to work on a blank slate than it is to try and bring back a garden that has been as neglected as mine. My clients could not have paid to have the work done that we are doing ... it is too labour intensive...
And now I am going to finish a few chores and drive over to MIL's...if I sleep there it will save me going over to check on her tomorrow... Pete is in Sydney and it isn't good to leave her alone for too long. He will be back on Thursday night. Must get back into searching for and assisted living center for her.
Catch you all tomorrow

Good Morning gang! Looks like I just missed da Bean.
Heidi - I'm so sorry about your boy...big hug from me.
Suzy/Cyn - hahaha! I knew that little finger theory couldn't hold true for all the guys! I do that pinkie wave, Suzy!
Tami - welcome home...too bad you have to get right to school.
June - sorry about your bowls loss - doesn't seem to happen that much, tho. You guys must be pretty darn good.
Suzy - haven't been on-line to see about the southern CA fires...we had a big one close by here in Auburn on Sunday. High winds and lots of heat. Destroyed dozens of homes and businesses.

Everyone. It's SO nice spending a night without coughing my head off.
I read all the posts, and my brain shut down. CRAFTs, again.
I do remember Bean's stuff on her glasses, tho'. I pay about the same for mine, Bean. I, too, have expensive tastes in frames. I have to get new ones every couple of years. My eyes keep improving, for some bizarre reason!!!!

Gail; Thanks for posting the recipe!
Heidi: Glad you slept well.
Bean: Sorry about the glasses!! I have bifocals too (HATE them! don't think they're strong enough). I take my glasses off to do my needlepoint, makes it easier.
Vici: Hi & bye! Hope you are safe from all the wildfires in California!
That's it for now, will try to be back later. TTFN!

I take my bifocals off when I read. I know... what's the point of having bifocals then? I haven't a clue.
