Good Maen SA8ers! Got up at 6:40 this morning, WAY too early!! Sinuses still congested, Darrell snoring like a grizzly bear last night. That's what happens when he works 2 36 hour shifts in 4 days! I wish I could go back to sleep, but once I'm awake, that is it.

everybody! I see we're now blaming Suzy for breaking the site! It HAS been quiet here.
Poor Suzanne. Congested sinuses are one of the most miserable feeling problems that I know. You feel like your gonna die, and are afraid that you won't.

Heidi: Good morning honey!! How are YOU feeling?? You are SO right about the sinuses!! This too shall pass (I hope). There are wildfires in SE Utah, the weather people say it is messing with our already lousy air quality.

Morning all!
I'm back! I spent most of yesterday sleeping - some kind of tummy bug but mostly I couldn't stay awake. Much better today and have the sloshy thing running so the kids have something to wear to school today! Ebob is working after school, Ally has TKD tonight - and hubby says the van is playing up. He takes the other car to Wollongong today so we could end up stuck on the side of the road... Oh well, deal with it if it happens.

I was awoken from my nap by a thunder boomer. Dennis got a head start on his freak-out before he got his tranks. Fortunately, he did not cause a lot of damage.

Good maEn everyone! Darrell KNOWS (after almost 18 years of marriage) not to speak to me until I've had my coffee! BTW, sinuses still a mess, throat sore, very little appetite! (ticks Darrell off when I eat like a bird!!)
Heidi: Hope you had a good nap! I tried, laid down for 1/2 an hour and couldn't relax enough!
Bean: you & I sound a lot alike (with the coffee).
Brenda: Keeping Lesley in my prayers. Sounds like she's doing VERY well1!!! Good for her!
FYI everyone: our friend Mike is still in Texas till the beginning of October, may change, will keep U all posted.

By the way, if we go to SA 9 and anyone wants a TOPP list, someone else can do it. I am done after this one. 375 pages and still no TOPPs. Is it harder to TOPP or not to TOPP, that is the question.

Brenda, that is really good news about your friend Lesley. It is a miracle. I am still keeping her in my thoughts.
I read, but I can't remember what I read. I am still tired from the weekend but it was worth it. I haven't downloaded the pictures but will post one when I have. I am going to say goodnight and tuck myself in. Next week is a 4 day week so I hope I can catch up on sleep this weekend.

Afternoon/Evening all! I'm not sure what almost 6pm qualifies as.

I need to vent. Stop reading!

Ally told me on the way home that one of her teachers had talked to them about the young boy who was killed at school last week. (Not her school, the one in the news). Apparently it was all about a seat that one group usually sits at and another took over that day. He was pushed into a wall, punched in the back of the head, kicked on the ground. He died, over a SEAT. Such a meaningless useless death. I don't know whether I want to scream or cry.

Nola, are you happy with your hair cut? How are the twins? I hope they are feeling better and that Renae finds a house soon.

Brenda, I am so glad Lesley has progressed so far. So wonderful.

Bean, I hope you are feeling better and got some more gardening done. That whip cracker would have kept an eye on you I'm sure.

Rolanda, that show committee sounds like a lot of work, but in a good way. I hope it is very successful, and you have a lot of fun doing it.

Over to easy to check out some posts...

BTW, I feel better already just 'talking' to you guys.

Re: Your Vent
I agree I feel helpless, but at least we know how to voice this (ie: venting), so what did Ally have to say, is she OK?

Evening all!
Ally is doing well. She said she thought about his parents and how they felt thinking that he would come home and then getting the phone call that he was in hospital. They had an opportunity to vent in class and apparently they all did. They were also told about the probable punishment the, searching for an adjective here..., student(s) who did the punching and kicking would get. She also wasn't worried because her school does a lot of stuff to control bullying. If only she knew! But I'm glad she believes that for now.

Suzy, what an awful subject for the teachers to have to discuss with the pupils. I hope it was handled properly.
We went to a very big funeral today. A friend who has been promoting Baseball in Sydney since the 1950's. He was just an average player but one son was one of the early Australian players who made it into Major League Baseball Playing for Dodgers in 1986/7 and onto other teams. He is now in the Boston Red Socks organisation (administration).(One of his son's friends from Red Socks organisation had also come to Australia for the funeral) Must have been over 400 people, most of the people we have also been associated with over the years. Our son had played baseball in Australia with two of his sons. A sad day but it was interesting seeing people we had not seen for some years.

One of the difficult things today was that the wife (my age) has severe dementia and they brought her to the funeral. She was on a hospital bed and looked just like my Mother did after she had passed away. They were 4 weeks short of their 50 Wedding Anniversary. There were not many dry eyes, even with the men. For the last 6 years he has spent 12 hours a day every day sitting with his wife in the nursing home. Putting a flower in her hair, Putting on her jewellery and make up. a very dedicated love. He had cared for her at home for three years before that, until he could not manage anymore.

Well MIL has settled in well. I am not sure how often I will get to spend time here but I am sure you will understand.
Brenda, Home already? It seams as though you just left. Better news from your friend.
Suzanne, hope the allergies clear up soon.
Bean, you must have quite a good sized garden. How wonderful it will all look when you are finished.
Tami. I think counting TOPPs is becoming a thing of the past. It is nice to move on to new challenges.(As you have done with your Zero Topp)
