Yay, the school holidays are here. I don't have to panic about getting her uniform washed.

I've just had a bit of a sad accident with one of my Chrissie ornaments - I like collecting nutcrackers of various designs and this was a soldier in bright colours, very pretty. Well, as we were dragging the Christmas tree through the door it knocked the poor soldier off the hall table and ... off with his head! (Poor little guy!) So now I have to work out what glue will make him whole again. At the moment I've taken him out of the display, as a beheaded toy soldier isn't very Christmassy - might even be considered a bit the opposite ....

Evening all!

Home from baseball…. It was a good game 11-8 to NSW. It looked like Perth was going to come back when a new pitcher let 4 runs home in one innings, but NSW held on. The wind was gusting up to 60 kph (felt like more) which had an interesting affect on the game. 6 home runs for example, plus a poor player calling out ‘I’ve got it, I’ve got it’ only to have the wind drag it away from him at the last minute. We weren’t sorry to get into the car and out of the wind when it was over, but I’m glad we went.

Judy, I giggled at your creative solution to the gigantic tree problem – and you are not obsolete to us so go blow a raspberry at your rude family! But I’m very sad about your poor nutcracker. I hope he can be medicined back to life.

June, I am almost ashamed to admit it, but Christmas with Louise had me in stitches! I could just imagine it happening… I laughed at you deciding to paint. Sounds like procrastination to me – and I’m very familiar with the beast!!

CynB – I hope your Christmas lunch was fun and scrummy too.

Stella, those trees falling sounds terrifying. I wouldn’t have stayed outside for very long until they stopped making those crash/smash sounds. I read about the lack of power and that it could be several days until some people get it back. It made me wonder how they will cope with the cold in the meantime…. Did you take a photo for us to see?

Rolanda that holiday sounds like bliss! I hope the weather is good (not too wet, not too hot).

Gail – mine still have a week of school left to go so I do have to worry about getting school uniforms ready for tomorrow – and I’m glad to do it if it gives me the week to get ready for Mum arriving!!! And now I’m up to your nut comment and I actually snorted…. Thank goodness this room is away from the rest of the house!

Phew, I managed to scrunch all of my responses into 3 comments (4 now) so I won't take up too much of the page.

Now I will go and get hubby so he can read Christmas with Louise too...

Thought I would treat myself tonight so had prawn cutlets(from Aldi) with salad but opened some champagne and had a glsass (we never drink when there is just the two of us and hubby does not like bubbly).
I enjoyed it but not sure about giving the painting another coat tonight!

suzy, glad you enjoyed the B'ball. Sounds a better game than the one we saw last week. It was more enjoyable to watch when our son was in the Claxton Shield team.

It sure would have been June! The players are very very good. Even with the winds I only saw a couple of balls get past the fielders and one overthrow. Watching your son play that well would have been amazing!

Hmmm, painting after champagne... How much do you like scraping paint off glass?

Feeling rather tired tonight. Our evening was cut short with a call from a damsel in distress. One of the kids had ended up without transport in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere...well, Frankston!
Hubby has tomorrow off, so we are pretending tonight is Saturday night, without the flash meal.
Mind you, sometimes KFC rules!
