hehe...probably not Susan...
By the time I reached the bit in my saga where the police broke in to my MIL's [she has a neighbour who is really well meaning but IS definitely a ‘neb-nose’… and had called the police when my deaf MIL didn't answer the doors...] This almost resulted in her having a heart attack in shock [she was asleep in bed]....

The whole story was getting a bit much and I decided on this condensed version. By the time Lachie got there [he went over to check if she was ok because we were going to a show] there was a real drama happening - the para medics had arrived and they had ECG on [which was abnormal- mine would be too if I was awoken to find my bedroom full of police an neighbours...] I left Pete at the hospital to check up on MIL & Lachie while I went back to check on her dog, the stuff under the mattress and to make the place secure....nailed up the window and was relieved to get home after dropping off an overnight bag into the hospital. I have kept the stuff from under the mattress and the rings...ho hum...will have to give it back tho....

I will do anything for a quite life....please...

after all this drama all I wanted was a stiff drink...can't believe I didn't have one...it will be so long since I had a drink by the time Christmas comes around that I will probably end up as drunk as a skunk!!!
I think I had better break the drought soon...we wouldn't want that to happen...would we....

Now I need my bed...have to be up in less than 8 hrs and I still have garbage to put out and a whole lot of prunings to be put in the bin...due for collection tomorrow...they are blocking the drive and I can't get the car out...lost a couple of silver birches that were weakened by the drought...borer loves to dig into struggling plants and they snapped in the wind....

Our water pipes are frozen and I had to brush my teeth with bottled water - that wasn't so bad, but I had put hand soap all over my hands before I realized the water wasn't running!

Vici, we have warm water coming out of our cold taps. No joke.
So, Bean, what was the call that you let the answering machine take? The MIL's neighbour?

My avatars with black backgrounds were already like that. I'm very curious as to how you (Bean) get them from a non black background picture. The same happens to Amelia on Easy, and I want to do it, but can't.

Morning Mama and evening Susan - love the kissing Mr. & Mrs. Claus!
I'll take some of that warm water - that happens to us in the summer on very hot days...just when you DON'T want it!

Susan...I use paint... I magnify the image x4/6 and painstakingly do some editing....complicated ones take four ever because there is a lot to learn about the program and I am a novice. I think this one was actually on a black background...will ahve to check. I wast far to much time mucking around with graphics and try very hard to pretend that I haven't wasted all that time...duh!!
Yes...the phone call was the neighbour....we thought Lachie would be there before they panicked.....

Thanks Bean. I use Paint too, but have never thought about painting the background. Amelia says some of hers just come out black on their own. We don't know how / why.
The neighbour caused difficulties today, but it must be reassuring to know that she's keeping an eye on your MIL.

I still need to read the pages of posts that I missed while sleeping.
I HOPE to put up the Christmas tree today. I am SO far behind schedule, it's not funny. Today feels like my last day of freedom. Jury Duty starts in 24 hours.

Hi everyone.

Suzy, your post had me snorting.

June, tried reading "Christmas with Louise" out loud to hubby. It's hard to do laughing with tears running down your face. Thank you.

Stella, be careful outside. After an ice storm here a few years ago, some people were hurt when branches and trees fell on them.

Susan, hope you have a good time at Tinaroo Dam.

Bean, hope your MIL is ok. What a way to wake up.

Vici, maybe you should invest in some heat tape for the pipes. Hope you don't spring any leaks.

Heidi, good luck on jury duty. When I got called, we just sat there day after day. Took in books, needlework and watched a lot of tv.

The get together was nice and ate way too much food. Will try and get back here later. Going over to FIL's soon to pick up the snow blower.

Becky - always good when you come here daily to keep us all gathered up!
The water started running again about 7 a.m. - because of construction we're not all hooked up throughout or we wouldn't have this problem. This should be (fingers crossed) the last winter we have to deal with it.
I'm so envious of your snow, Becky - the snow predicted here still hasn't been delivered!

Good morning everyone. It looks like I have been online for days but I really haven't.We have a dreadful habit of leaving the computer on.
Twin #1 and #2 are now walking, the littlest started on Friday.Cannot wait to see them but unsure when that will be.
Haven't read the posts yet but hope everyone is well and happy.
Psoriasis still annoying especially on my right hand.Thank you to all the people who asked about it.
To all who post here, I may not comment but I think about you all and truly feel your pain and happiness. Be back soon after reading.

Morning all!

Nola, glad to hear from you, but sorry your psoriasis is still acting up. I often read about 'miracle' treatments for psoriasis, which tells me that there is nothing much that REALLY works. Perhaps the twins will distract you so much you won't notice it for a while - I hope so anyway!

Bean, what a stressful evening! So the call you let the answering machine pick up - it was from Lachie or your MIL's neighbour? It is wonderful that your neighbour is checking on your MIL, but perhaps she should have a key so calls to the police and break ins can be avoided? Hmmmm, on second thoughts.....

After my last post this morning, I fell sound asleep. I got up an hour ago and did most of the feeding. I still have to feed hay to the horses, grain to the cows, and evening meal to dogs. And collect the chicken eggs.
Nola.... I have some idea of what you're going through. A friend of mine has psoriasis. Frustrates the daylights out of him.

Good morning Suzy, Heidi, Nola, Vici, and anyone else around.
Bean, what drama for your mother. Sounds like the time my Mum went to sleep at the kitchen table and kept leaning on the vital call. The phone was in another room and she did not hear it ring and the ambulance and family arrived to wake her up. Her story ended there.

Susan, enjoy your trip away. I am well past wanting to go camping! I like a bit of luxury these days.
Heidi, how will you fit in Jury Duty with the animals. Maybe you should take something with you 'that needs regular feeding' and you might be excused. A lamb with a bottle do the trick!
