Yeah, I know about the "thanks" bit. She sent her message to me twice... 50 minutes apart.
What's up with that, Suzy? It was a nice message, but I didn't need two of them.

Does the judge have anything to do with jury selection Heidi? Here there are certain criteria that gets you excused, ie being pregnant, and the selection is done by the legal teams. (challenges etc)
If the Judge knows you well and all the farm commitments you would think he could be an extra good friend.

June, for the trial I went to, before the challenges people's 'excuses' were evaluated by the magistrate. He didn't let many of them off!

I've never done Jury duty in Kentucky, so I don't know how it works here. I did do Jury duty in New Jersey (a nasty murder trial... the jury deliberated for less than an hour.. guilty) and the judge was prominent in the selection of jurors.
This Judge knows that I am capable of doing whatever needs to be done. He also knows that I always make time to do what is right. I have spent time in his courtroom helping people who I knew were falsely accused of crimes. They were acquitted.

I have been called twice. Once when the family were under school age and the second time the jury was selected before they came to me. Now I would just go and get my haring checked. I am borderline for a hearing aide so sometimes miss part of conversations. Age will soon be a factor for me anyway.

I just clicked on a link because it reminds me of you relaxing with your singing - a complaint choir.... I think your choir probably sounds a lot better though!

Just popping in!
Hello June, Suzy, Mariana and Heidi...
Baking day for me - it's so fun with the snow coming down in heavy clumps outside.
Finished my Cheesecake and am now working on "holiday" breads for gifts. It's a recipe my step daughter, Melissa, came up with: Pumpkin spice bread with semi-sweet chocolate chips. Would have never put those 2 together, but it is delish!

What an interesting combination Vici, I wouldn't have put them together either. Your step daughter makes up recipes! I thought all recipes came out of books or the computer.... hehe

Will you have time to get in the spa today Broni?? Maybe Teresa will join you in there and you can both relax!
My day begins... I hope I can finally have a productive day! Since this is the room mum will be sleeping in I will be in here a lot getting it organised (it's not normally a sleeping room!) so might pop in and out.

Morning lovely SA7 people - once again haven't read up on previous pages and once again too much to do this morning and wasted too much time on Easy. Paperwork to do today - if I get myself moving on it, I'll be able to relax and enjoy SA7 for the rest of the week. Hope all is well.

Suzy... making up recipes is a blast. They don't always work, but when they do...
I have had one of mine published..... a curried lamb dish.... that is to die for. The secret is lots of green Cardamom. The hard part is remembering exactly what you did, so it can be repeated.
Everyone but dogs is fed. I will have to get IH to feed hay to the cows tomorrow....
the big rolls, not 50 pound square bales, which he prefers to feed (cheaper to feed 3 of them than 3 3/4 ton rolls, but not as satisfying to cows) But that means that he'll be using my tractor.

the one time I was called up for Jury Duty (I got out of it, had to sign declarations etc to say why), was when #1 son was doing his Tertiary Enterence Exams..
The High School was some 6 ks away, other than me drive him to his exams, the only other way for him was to ride his bike, or catch the infrequent bus.

We used to be able to get out of Jury Duty because we ran a business. I was on Jury Duty once but got refused because it was a child abuse case and they knocked back as many women as they could especially the ones who looked like parents and Grandparents. I still think I would have been able to make my mind up from the evidence but didn't get a chance.

The silly thing about that Cyn is that it assumes men are less disgusted by child abuse than women - soooo not true!
I am hiding from the spiders. Phase 1 of my mum preparations is to get rid of the spider webs out back. The problem is that we had some beautiful golden orb spiders in the front garden a while ago. They appeared to disappear but we found an egg sac. Now I know where most of the babies went!!!

Rolanda, I'm glad the judge didn't think riding a bike to those exams was okay! It would have put your son at a significant disadvantage...
