What is a social life???

If I am sick, I can get a 2 month postponement. Then I would be doing Jury duty during calving season. No thanks. I'd rather get it over with.

What bugs me is that IH has never been called. Just me. Life is not fair.

I've never been called either! Hubby has, but got out of it due to a critical time at work, many years ago.

Heidi pretty hard to summarise a 3 hour conversation. But one friend is an alcoholic in denial, she drinks her vodka out of a water bottle, to being accused of bumping of another friends lover (who looks like he has nicked off with her money) to her daughter (the one who is involved with Landmark Education) phoning her to tell her she has been afraid of her since she was 3yo. The only good part was a relative who has two types of cancer looks like she may survive but still has to go through radiation as well as chemo.

And that is not half of it but she is home now and amongst real friends.
Never been called up for jury duty either Gail (touch wood)

That WAS a nightmare. I am SO glad that she's back among friends. She needs all the friends she can get right about now.

Broni, a holiday from hello barely covers it. I'm trying to work out what you mean by bumping off as I can't imagine you meant killing... I hope. I can't imagine what it has been like for Teresa.

That is what it is like Gail, they deny they have a problem and honestly believe that no one notices what they are doing. Until they can admit they have a problem you cannot help them.
Yes Heidi, Teresa has been a strenght for me since JD died and does not deserve this, as I said to her there is always a good friend here and somewhere to stay if only to escape this madness.

Zusy that is exactly what I am talking about. Halfway through this conversation I told to her stand up as she need a big hug and she broke down finally for the first time. She will be OK, she is a strong woman who has gone through a lot in her life and does not deserve to be treated like this.

I do have a question - which is rhetorical as I doubt anyone can answer it - how was she supposed to have bumped off this bloke from the other side of the country?

Long story Zusy, but she was supposedly in cahoots with another person, and these accusations were made in front of another who did not know this woman at all.

Anyway Teresa is back safe and sound, she is coming back over on Wed afternoon after I finish some more work on the boat. Have acheived heaps on the boat, hopefully we will start painting next Sun.

Is s Teresa going to help you paint the boat? Might be good therapy.

Hello, Everyone! Just popping in here. It's nearly 11:15 p.m. and I'm just starting to read. And across our back yard I can hear our neighbors 19-year-old twin boys and friends in their hot tub. Mind you, it's about 40* F. Hubby and I need to get to sleep soon, as we need to be up about 5:15 am. Hope to catch up tomorrow!

Re the neighbour...it is good that she keeps an eye on MIL....has been letting herself in and out for years to check on her....but why oh why didn't she use the key...surely she hadn't forgotten where it was....she was probably the last one to use it...we all have our own keys and leave one out for emergencies.

But Bean.... Then there wouldn't have been all that excitement!

I'm back....MIL was very pleased to see me...
Called me Dorothy a few times [other DIL] and luckily doesn't remember much of the drama that was yesterday. Has no real cognition when it comes to how long she has been where she is etc...mixing this admission up with the last. I know that UTI's are a common cause of confusion in the elderly and seen it before but it is terrible to see someone who is as sharp as a tack become so confused so quickly. At least she has never got as bad as my mother did at times with electrolyte imbalances. Growing old is a minefield!!! I don't want to reach 100 any more!!

hehe...picked up old Tom and brought him back to Hawthorn...he is very busy vocalising....I just rang Pete at work and when his answering machine cut in I held the phone down and he is going to cop a decent earful [3-4'] of Tom barking and making deep throaty noises...not really growling...he sort've speaks...

Now...if you never hear from me again it will be because Pete has organised the men in white coats to pick me up for once and for all....

where is everybody...I am getting very embarrassed...CP coming up. Me thinks it is time I went and found another life other than this most enjoyable one here in SA....
