Just saw my chance there and took a TOPP for Christmas - like the rest of you, I'm about to hit the dreaded shops. My son has relented and let me buy pressies for the girls (he originally said no presents because that's not what they came back to the family for) but I beat him down - can't miss out on giving gifts to grandies now, can you? But I'm doing it at the eleventh hour!

Yay Cyn - you will have such fun choosing something for the grandies. I have to sign off now as the rush is starting. Hope to catch you all again later....

I still don't have the energy to do what you're doing, Suzy. I hope everyone understands.

Back safely from the big city - had a very nice time. The highlight (besides spending time with my nieces) was seeing the cute SPCA puppies and kittens in Macy's windows. Lots of oooowing and ahhhhing going on...and everyone stuffing the SPCA coffers!
Hope to post some pictures by tomorrow.

This is to wish you all
a , Happy New Year, and a great life!

The time I've spent with my new friends here has been incredible. I think you are all so wonderful. We may not see eye to eye on everything, but the world would be awfully dull if we did. But my life has been decidedly enriched because of all my friends here. Thank you so much just for being yourselves.

Hey Vici.... I missed you. I added some Opossum smilies just for you, so you can see how UNcute they are. Nasty critters... they eat my feed and my birds.

Cleaning up has some advantages. I just found a whole lot of old photos I though I had lost. Thought I may have accidently tossed them on a previous clean but had put them in a box!!
The back bedroom with twin beds is where everything not being used gets put and as I will need the beds for the boys............(I still have a spare empty box )

I will hit the shops later this afternoon. Hopefully most people will have been out early this morning or planning to go early tomorrow. Just food shopping left now. I have promised to sit with someone having a second Chemo treatment tomorrow(not a very nice Christmas present) so have to get everything finished today.

(oops - was referring to your Holiday greeting)
yep - those opossums look mighty nasty!
Congrats on finding the photos, June!
I always love when I find money in my winter coat pockets.

June 6 years ago my friend was staying with us [she was from the country] while she was having radiation...every week day for 6 weeks I think it was...it was a lousy present for her as well. When she wasn't being sick or irradiated we hit the shops because she knew this was to be her last Christmas and she wanted something special for all that were dear to her...I miss her so much.

Heidi those possums don't look very cuddly - their teeth look really nasty! :{
Australian possums are quite cute, though they can be pests. We have mostly ringtail possums around here - I see them climbing along the telephone wires at dusk. Main problems - they make a hell of a mess (often on top of my car!), and if they run across the roof at night they sound like a herd of elephants. Apart from that I like them. We even have folk songs about possums! And the book "Possum Magic" by Mem Fox is one of Australia's favourite children's books - so cute! :)

Bean, sorry to hear about your friend - I've heard chemo is pretty horrible.
June - you are so good! I should be cleaning right now, as my daughter and her fiance are coming tomorrow. I was going to have everything beautiful, but instead I'm chatting here ... I am bad!! ;)

Richard and I hit the food shops yesterday (Monday)
it was busy but not as busy as it will be today or tomorrow.
I'm going to pick up the turkey and gammon this morning.
I had a lovely surprise gift delivered today from and elderly lady I help with her computer problems. She sent me a large box of fresh fruit, nuts and a bottle of wine. My ghast has never been so flabbered. There is enough fruit to last my family of five adults for quite a number of days.

Brenda, it's the unexpected gifts that are the best.
What a sweetie she is, obviously very appreciative of all your help.

How is your friend who had the stroke? Forgive me, her name escapes me.

I need to limp over to the kitchen and start flinging food. My leg is killing me today.
You will all be proud of me. I actually made an appointment to have it looked at. Since the pain is in the area where I had the surgery last year, I decided, along with my GP's office, to see the surgeon who worked on it. Hopefully it's not a complication of all that metal and screws being in there.

OK Heidi, that is enough! You are making me a teary eyed and I am at krow!
But I know what you mean, without the friendship and caring from this site this year would have been far more difficult for me.

Well...I have been and sort of blown it....
Decided to take advantage of Gath being busy and drop in on all my friends. After great perseverance I worked an accumulation of smilies together to meet with my approval [ever noticed how they never end up where you think they should?]..took a lot of trial and error...then I copied the final arrangement of smilies...

I also noticed half way thru that someone had been dropping off goodwill and cheer using my pudding smilie to do so and had to wander off and change my smilie cause it looked a bit dorky with us both on the same page with the same avatar..posting one after the other I might add...people might think we are related.... [not that I'd really mind....]
