Hi All...I'm back but haven't read everything yet...but enough to know that all is not well weith Gail's Mum....Prayers and good wishes along with a big hug Gail. Hope the news is good....

Jazzy, and I'll add my voice to the rest in hoping your job search brings great results.....
Family is coming and we'll be celebrating as we watch the Eagles play football....I'll try and do a little back reading to catch up unless we get a great summary....yes I know I've been spoiled...but I'm not alone...LOL.

back Mamacita - we missed you!

We took Mum out yesterday and had another small Christmas lunch with her, my bro and sis, our spouses and Mum's sister, Vi. She enjoyed it immensely but was her usual naughty self when returned to the care home and threw a tantrum.

Hi Cyn, just dropping in, sounds like a noice lunch. The tantrum is sad, but at least you got good bits first...

You guys are the best, you know that, don't you.

The first news we got in the morning was not great, but then, we are expecting it as Mum has heart disease and it is getting to the final stages so she is never great at the best of times. As the day wore on, the news (and our reaction to it) got worse so there were five of us all over Australia working out how and when we could all get back to Adelaide. However, the last news we got yesterday relieved a lot of our stress and tension which was great, so we actually all got a reasonable night's sleep!

Two of my sisters who live here in Melbourne are already en route. My sister in Sydney is catching a plane and will be there this arvo. I am waiting for my other sister, who lives in Cairns, to get here on a flight tonight, and she and I will leave in the morning to drive over there. Hopefully, we'll get there just after lunch time tomorrow.

Mama, welcome home.

Much ffuts to do around here today before I leave...otherwise I will have to drive in the nuddy! Haven't fed the machine since before Chrissy, so have a dirty clothes mountain!

everybody...I am almost awake...took phenergan [antihistamine] pill on Sat night because the itch was driving me stark raving mad...couldn't wake up yesterday.. let's hope I can go for a whole day without welts and swollen, burning, itchy and painful extremeties...don't know what else to try...hate it when it is so bad I have to resort to drugs ... I don't need anything else to make me sleepy..

well that feels better...nothing like a good rant!!

Why can't our parents stay as they were - healthy and independent. I don't know about anyone else but, when I was younger, I never considered that my parents would be anything else but the capable, loving people they were. Their old age crept up on me just like it did them.

That's the only avatar I successfully added black to on the background. It keeps you busy for ages, then most of them looked yuck. I took your advice and zoomed right out to do the touch ups. Thanks for the advice.

Jazzy, a wise decision re not driving with a passenger who scares you!!! It's not easy being a passenger with a learner driver because you're giving up control, but unless you've had a number of crashes your mum can relax now.

Cyn it must have been lovely to have taken your mum out for dinner, just remember that pleasure and forget the tantrum she probably has forgotten it.
