What great news to wake up to. (Didn't have a SHORT nap, so no posts got pulled) I was worried sick about Ray. WHAT an ordeal he's been through!

Great to hear the news about Rayray, Broni and Brenda.
Susan - I'm far from being a party animal. As usual, being a parent, I got voted to have New Year at my house with both kids and spouses, 5 grandies - all staying the night in our 3 bedroom house afterwards - plus a few ring-ins. You know 'Oh great, party at Mum's, let's invite.....'

I'm exhausted - AND we still have family birthdays on 9, 16 & 18 January.

Heidi, Ray sounded ok. He is still weak and sore, rather a large incision, but says he is slowly making progress and is sleeping better than he had been doing in hospital

CynB sounds like a great night at your place, sorry I cannot get there in time so will have to go out to our friends party (we hosted it last year)

Not sure if I will be able to get on line tomorrow (today for Australia) so can I wish all my SA 'family' a and hope that 2009 brings health wealth and happiness.

I know what I went through with a 10 inch incision, and 2 organs messed with. I can only imagine what he's gone through with MUCH worse. It'll take many months for him to recover.

Brenda, I may twist your arm, and ask you for the phone number where Ray is. He's probably not up to a call from the States just yet, but maybe in a couple of weeks. He needs his sleep now.

Heidi I don't have a telephone number. I must admit I forgot to ask for a number, but when I tried to get it from my incoming call register it had been with held. He had received a card from a friend on Sudoku and he did say that that had given him a lot of pleasure

Gotta put my trusty lap-top away now and begin the house cleaning, food preparation process - kids are supplying some too.

Hello friends! Happy New Year's Eve eve. Hope all the sickies are recovering well and everybody will have a great New Year.
The tree man, who was coming this afternoon, actually came at 9.30 - we'd had a sleep-in, so had to race around to get decent: $4000 dollars to remove the pine tree, with the dead liquid-amber "thrown in" - I guess it's cheaper than having one or other of them smash down on the house... :(
For the people who were asking to see what the kids look like now - I've uploaded some more recent photos on my page, even one of Moi - don't get excited, I ain't no oil-painting! ;)

IH has the big 6-0 coming up on the 22nd. I'm having fun with the old timer jokes. Especially since he has no sense of humor.

Just had a chat with Gail, she sends her love and hopes to get onto SA later today. She was on last night but could not log in, so she is checking up on us so be careful what you say about the DAG (alias GALAH)! Hehe!
