She's in her early 50's, so her age is makes it a bit easier for her to heal. But, she's had so many surgeries in the last couple of years, I'm sure she feels like a pin cushion at times.
At least the manufacturer is paying for everything. The first one was well over $100,000.

Becky, the story is a long one. My brother's ex-wife is taking him to court to try to get him arrested. Several years ago, she cheated on him. He tried to work it out, but she wanted to be with the guy. He gave her the house and everything else(against advice by everyone) because he didn't want to disrupt the lives of his 3 kids. Last year he lost his job and the judge put it on record that he abandoned his family and was a lowlife. He had been paying his ex-wife $4,000 a month, but she never paid the mortgage or bills she was supposed to with the money. The house went into foreclosure. The judge blamed my brother and ordered him to pay 500,000 for the house and 8,000 a month to his ex-wife(for the rest of her life unless she remarries) or he would be put in jail. EW bought another house with her boyfriend and works.(my brother was living in his car) The order was ridiculous. But he found another job and paid ew 45,000 in October. He lost his job in November (he's a stock trader) and she petitioned to put him in jail on Dec 1st. It was postponed until today. His new attorney found out that the judge was good friends with his ew's mother. The original orders should never have been given nor should he have put that stuff on the record. The attorney is trying to get everything thrown out. It's a mess to say the least!

I don't usually pay attention to the numbers but Heidi posted about them so I just read about it. Wow, didn't realize that hips were so expensive!
I should get moving since the boys will be leaving, I assume, by lunch time. I have to run to the store, but that requires a shower and brekkie first. Nice chatting with you Becky! It's not often I run into people here.

Boy, she sounds like a real piece of work.
Can the new atty. petition the judicial review board to get the judge taken off the case and reprimanded? A judge here was taken off the bench and almost lost his licence 'cause he did that in a child custody case.

HI and Bye to Becky and Stella and Gail.
Stella, cannot believe what happened to your brother in court. well, I can, I have seen some terrible things come out of our justice system, but this is a bit much even! I do hope he gets everything reversed. I have heard from so many about these women who can get almost anything through a court during divorce. If I tried half that, I would be under the jail, how do they do it?
I am waiting to see if I must report to jury duty about 75 miles away! District Court, not in our county, but state capital. I have this code a phone I must call to see status, when it is closer to the due date. Hope I am way down on the page and they do not need me! I had to fill out a 9 page questionaire, many of the questions usually asked by attorneys in picking a jury. Guess they are trying to weed out the ones the attorneys could object too?

Stella! Your brother's EW is such a lowlife!!!!! The judge that did this to him needs to be removed from the bench permanently. I really hope that his new lawyer can fix this. How about using the press? Tell his story to a reporter. You wouldn't believe how fast things can get fixed once there's public outcry.

The 5 finches that I bought yesterday will be here on Monday of Tuesday. They're flying up from Florida (on a plane, you silly people). I have to pick them up at the airport in Louisville. The first 2 I bought won't be here until late in the week.

Rola - book club was great...like I said, our read "The Book Thief" was fabulous. Great characters, lots of warmth and color despite the backdrop of WWII Germany...and the best part, Death is the narrator. What a character that Death is!

I was planning on heading over to the horse trainers today to drive my Gypsy Vanner. Unfortunately, he's sick, and the Vet said to give him a week off from training.

Gypsy Vanner is the breed. His name is WCS Challenger. He's under the care of a good Vet. He'll be OK.
I just got word that the 5 finches will be shipped on Tuesday. I'll have to be at the airport at 9:30 pm to pick them up.

Haven't heard from my brother, so don't know what happened. It's a terrible situation and the really sad thing is that EW has convinced the kids that it is all their dad's fault! We all(my brothers and sisters) just want to shake the kids and say, don't you realize that it is all your mother's fault!! But my brother doesn't want to hurt the kids' relationship with their mom, even now. I wouldn't be so generous!

Stella - your brother sounds like a wonderful human being. I hope he suspends his wish not to hurt their relationship for long enough to get out of the financial hole!! And I agree with the others that the judge should be taken off the bench, not just this case, all cases.

Got up early this morning to water all the overhead pots, herbs and veggie garden. We only have two allotted mornings a week we can water and it was vital as we have had no rain in like forever...except now! It's a bit like washing the car, as soon as you have finished, it rains!

Heidi, when watching the parade in Washington there was a carriage pulled by two horses with lovely feathers like Challanger and I waondered if they were Vanners? I only got a quick glimpse.
Enjoy all your finches when you get them.

I'm looking at the gum tree we are trying to transplant and it looks like it could do with some water too. I have them pop up in my garden and try to plant them in the yard. Mostly they don't make it...

Stella, hope everything works out for your brother. As his children get older the realisation of how they have been used by their mother will surface. You brother is probably doing the right thing by them at the moment. Does he still have contact with them?
