Heidi, Gath might be away. We have a public holiday coming up on Monday for Australia Day and a lot of people take the opportunity to have a getaway.

Oops, how rude...

I haven't heard any fire sirens at all Broni, but then, where we are, the wind has to be blowing in the right direction for us to hear it! Will check on that wonderful site that Suzy found...back in a mo!
BTW - I HATE HUMIDITY!

June, how terrifying! And then they get on the news and say how badly they are represented and they are really good drivers....

I wouldn't have sped up either. I might have found a way to follow him for long enough to get his number though....

June, just went back and read about your 'Dual' experience. Anyone remember that movie. It is so terrifying to think that these guys are driving like this. It is such a shame you were not able to get the name of his haulage company, I would have been on the phone to them first thing this morning. They are usually quite harsh to these drivers because they besmirch the company's name.
Scary to think he was probably high as a kite on No-doze or worse too.

My day is planned. Hubby is home so we will be going to the shopping centre later. We are going to my niece's wedding on Sunday and Hannah wants to wear a dress for the occasion, a rarity these days!
People are starting to arrive from all over the country for it, my QLD sis arrived last night and I will catch up with her soon as she is going to my hairdressers so I said I would pop in.

And on that note, I better get moving. Better 'fix' my hair, can't rock up at the hairdressers with it looking scruffy, I'd never hear the end of it!

Have a great day everyone, catch you later this arvo no doubt.

Suzy, if I had followed him I probably would have been the one to get booked for speeding!
Ken still has a bit of a temperature today. I do not think he is drinking enough but we are really not sure what the problem is. He still has a cough but not all the time. Meds from the Doctor do not seem to be working.

Ken's temp has been hanging around for way too long. It doesn't sound like man-flu anymore. Hasn't he been on the meds for a few days now? (Time is not real in here so it could be only a day!!)

I was just a bad girl. I bought 5 more finches. Total of 7 now. The big cage is set up and waiting, and I'm well stocked up on Gouldian food.

Good evening Everyone, I had to post the TOPP list before I did anything else.
Glad to hear about Rayray. Hope he is doing better soon. Gail, enjoy the wedding. Hope you have a wonderful time at it.

I think I am suffering from CRAFT. I don't remember what else I read.

Since nobody seems to be here, I guess I am going to tuck myself into my nice warm bed and get a good night sleep. Did I mention that South Florida is having a cold spell? We are not used to temperatures in the 40's, about 6 or 7 in celsius.

My anniversary is today (down under) tomorrow (topside). We are having a few friends over on Saturday night to celebrate. We will probably go out to dinner tomorrow but I will try to stop in and say hello.

Hi everyone! Hope the sickies are all getting better, and the wellies ... ok, no, THAT doesn't work! ... hope everyone is having a good day! :)
Lee and Suzy - isn't family history fun! I've done a lot over the years, and found some pretty interesting stuff - Rob has four convicts in his Tree, and a First Fleeter (a Marine, not a convict, unfortunately!) I'm really quite jealous - most of my ancestors were depressingly law-abiding! I have found a suicide, the inquest written up in the newspaper in quite gory detail (1864) Also, recently had an old family "legend" confirmed, that an ancestor was "physician to the King of Denmark". He really was! Woo-hoo! On the whole, though, the baddies are more interesting, or am I just weird ....?

I'm descended from Bad King John of the Robin Hood tales (in reality, John Lackland), Lady Godiva, Benedict Arnold, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Alexander Hamilton, John Hancock, Charlemaigne (sp?) and quite a few other characters and bluebloods.

Now we know your problem Heidi.

For family history I have put things together for about thirty years. Have boxes of papers and photos. Even one photo of someone who died in 1857 (It is printed on glass)
Ken has a couple of convict first fleeters.

That's amazing Heidi! My earliest known ancestors are from Cornwall, around 1560 - much later than your medieval bunch! I think they were farmers, couple of blacksmiths - no royalty!

We did a trip a few years ago, a lot of Americans in the group - I think some were quite horrified when we casually mentioned convict ancestors! The look on one lady's face was hilarious - I guess they just didn't understand that we are proud of our naughty forebears!

It was pure chance that I found mine out. Years ago some geneologist was tracing some lines forward, and stumbled on my strange family's. He actually presented my grandmother with her entire bloodline back 35 generations. It's actually fascinating reading. My favorite aunt now has possession of it, and has promised me a copy.

I am quite proud off Benedict Arnold. If the British had won the Revolutionary War, he'd be a major hero. He was actually the most brilliant general the American side had, but others kept taking credit for his success. Only Washington realized what a great man he was.

Ahhh, now we are truly set for the year! A friend came today bringing about 20 pounds more of ground venison! I think I must look up more recipes for using mince. A friend gave him this, wife will not eat it or cook it, so he brought it to us. I will I will return some, cooked.
