I was told later by other parents that the difference in the kids' voices was because of the wind (not a southerly) interfering with the mikes. Dumb me doesn't know about that stuff!
Amazing coincydink - the guy who was on after Ally is someone I've seen around a lot at different things. A familiar person.
While watching the show I saw someone I knew - the sister of a good friend of mine whom I had met and spent several nice hours chatting with at my friend's parties. Turns out this familiar guy is this lady's son! Small small world!!

Ally is sick to death of the phrase "What happened?" or the variation "What did you do?" We must have heard it more than a dozen times just tonight!
She was determined to enjoy the show with or without a broken arm and wanted to go on "rides". We all went on the ferris wheel ($20 for the 4 of us with the family discounted ticket - unbelievable!). Ebob ran into friends and asked us nicely if she could go off with them so we handed over the dough and off she went. Hubby went on Break Dance with Ally. She loved it, but was frightened the whole time that she would hurt her arm. I suggested that she might swap her 3rd ride (all we allow at the prices they charge!) for a couple of sideshows - which we normally won't do at all! Then we waited for Ebob and headed home. Most of us feel ill from the heat - even though we drank water almost constantly while we were there.

I'm embarrassed to make yet another post but remembered something I didn't tell you about Ally's trip to casualty. Sorry!
I took Ally and Ebob straight to the hospital from gym. Hubby joined us later, followed later by two of the gym coaches. The nurses etc were all aware of that. The doc on the other hand didn't see us until after hubby and the coaches had arrived. She turned to hubby and growled 'what happened?' in a menacing tone. He has a nice face, he is a nice guy, and yet this is the second time it has been implied that he has hurt one of his children!

Suzy...I don't have a problem with the number of posts that you make....do NOT be embarrassed about the number!!
I'm sorry that hubby got the 'look'...but is it preferable for someone who is innocent to be suspect than for someone who is guilty to be presumed innocent?

I'm watching the US version of Life on Mars...really enjoyed the British version.
It is so nice it has cooled down a little..well it is a lot actually...it will just take a while for the house to cool down.
I have everything crossed hoping that the rain doesn't bypass us and that we may wake up to rain...

Maen Sudokuland!
Have a coffee, tea or hot chocolate with me. We can do any of them ICED for the digs with 115 degree weather!
I am here without reading this morning. Been in the sewing room again while hubby is sleeping in. I do believe he has his days and nights turned about!
I was reading about the fires in Victoria, and the houses lost and the deaths, unbelievable! I hope you soon get a weather change away from such conditions that make these firestorms possible!

It will take months to clean up the mess outside. It looks like we got a direct hit with a tornado... trees shredded and splintered everywhere. Even wooden fence posts got turned into toothpicks.

HEIDI, how are the mono symptoms? My sister who was diagnosed about same time as you is getting her stamina back. she actually went to her water aerobics class couple of days last week, had not been able to do that for about 2 1/2 months. I hope yours is improving also.
SUZY, thank you for the nice comments about my photos, glad you enjoyed a look-see. Hurray for Ally singing. Humm, clothing that fits over that cast could be a problem, I had not thought of that, sleeve openings. Glad she found something to wear. Interesting you found a friend and her son at the event, small world indeed.
SUSAN, thinking of you as the water rises again. I am glad you had not got further with your cleaning also, and have clean clothes and food.
NOLA, enjoy your holiday and hope you get family moved back with minimum stress.
Tami, nice to have a chat with you and Vici this morning, good to check in with both of you today.
Know there was more I should comment on, but I think it is time for a nap. Not sure why, but today is a hurty day, and a nap seems in order.
Hugs to all and everyone take care.

Thanks for asking Heidi, Ken is just about back to normal. Looked after Laura a couple of days last week but will not have to look after her for a couple more weeks.
While you have been freezing we are expecting over 40*c today before the cool change moves up from Victoria.

Suzy, maybe you can buy Ally a few shirts and cut one of the sleeves to fit over her cast. I know you don't want to do that with good clothes but you should be able to find a few cheaply. My friend with a broken leg had to cut off the leg of her pants to find ones that fit.

Or just open a seam in a sleeve. Once the cast is off, sew it back up. Been there... done that.

Hello SA7...I've missed you all and am busy trying to catch up on whats been going on...Quite a bit of bad stuff it seems...
Suzy, I'm so sorry Ally got hurt and has broken her arm....its difficult having a new cast, but time will help there...I'm glad she was still game enough to sing and then felt well enough to hang out with friends for awhile...it helps to just be able to be a kid at times like those she has had recently. Take care
June, good to hear that Ken is doing better and things seem to be turning around for your family's health issues in a good way.
Susan, Wow!!! Lots of water making life difficult for you and yours...no fun that's for sure...Hope things get better sooner than later, but I can't help admire the way you are handling the flooding in the house...I'd be nuts by now...or should I say nuttier. Hang in there....this too shall pass, and you will have some nice new stuff to enjoy and help you forget the mess...
Heidi, Much that I said to Susan also applies to you....the two of you have been severely affected by loss of animals, lifestyle and possibly life threatening conditions, but managed to keep your focus on the positive rather than the negative...my hat is off to you both...that is if I wore a hat....but you know what I mean...
Bean, Gale and all of you dugs....you make me proud to call myself woman and friend to you. Simply reading how you have responded and coped with unbelievable weather conditions is awe inspiring....We didn't do too badly as topsiders dealing with our extremes either...Brenda....that was quite some snow you dealt with too.....I guess I should just say...This is a wonderfully bright, funny and well seasoned group that doesn't let life keep them down....we seem to have the right bounce going on....
Glad everyone is safe....scars will disappear or act as reminders that we survived tough times...Okay....the book is written...go in peace and good health!!!

Just had good and bad happen. The good: a nice big white and brown spotted ram lamb was born. Absolutely gorgeous. The bad: I just had to pull 2 dead lambs out of another ewe. And the ewe is in rough shape. She is one of my oldest ewes, too.

Morning all!
Mamacita, If I hadn't spent so much time reading the posts I would have been here at the same time as you, but I think you are gone by now! Drat
Bean, I think it's easier for you and me to see that it's better for doctors to be suspicious than it is for hubby who is the target. Why straight at him and not me for example? The first time it happened we were living in the states and I remember thinking 'this must be what it's like to be stereotyped based on race or colour'. The closest we will ever come to knowing what it is like living with that.

Suzy, they always look at the man first. We had to take Dylan to the emergency room several times as a toddler for dislocated elbow's. He did it at 16 months, 18 months and at 2 1/2. Luckily (or not) it is common for kids. I really thought they were going to think we were abusing him.
