Time to fling food I suppose. Get tired of doing that sometimes.

And now, Hello/Good Night to everyone. It's almost 1 a.m. here, and I should have been in bed at least 1 hour ago, as we have an early morning. Positive thoughts for everyone, as I may have a difficult time dropping in for the next week.

Catching up on reading...Bean, we kept the windows shut during the flood, but we have security screens downstairs. It's a pretty low crime rate area, but when your child is sleeping alone downstairs, who is going to take that risk?
STELLA, I cannot believe what your brother's exwife is putting him through. Sometimes the world is just so unfair. Hopefully I'll read some better news in later pages.

Nola, Broni and MizT were asking about my flood pics. Sorry Broni, I thought that I had you in my contact list. I'm happy to forward them to anyone who wants them. Just email me at susanqld@hotmail.com. I have some more showing what our house looked like after the flooding, but haven't got to putting them on the computer yet. You'll love the photo of Son's toilet! Hard to believe it's only a couple of years old, but it's all white again now.

Hello lovely SA7 people - wouldn't you know, just the day you fill up 6 pages or so, is the day I go out to meet a friend and come home to find I have no internet access - fixed now, after a frustrating 4 hours or so. Sorry, I've missed the topsiders.

Susan - pleased to hear you sounding upbeat and that your membership issues are sorted out. Loved the Australia Day avatars, sorry you couldn't use them on the day. Looking forward to seeing the next lot of pics.

Gail - I mentioned this on Easy but will put it here as well. Myers are also taking donations and will match dollar for dollar what they take.
Bean - Hope your brother is safe. And count me in for the vanilla slices - yumm!
Judy - Yea, they make great cheeses. I am much more concerned for the people there but wonder if the cheese factory survived.

Suzy - I can't believe that I couldn't see the chocolates in that avatar. I thought I could spot a choccie at 100 paces!!
I love SpongeBob and always sit with my grandies to watch it. How sad am I??
I have watched tonights news as far as I could handle without being overwhelmed. That was to the point where a girl (on 9 news) saw her father, who she wasn't sure had survived, driving through the town she was in and chased down the street after him. The reunion left me blubbering. A bit of pure joy amongst the sadness.

Becky - hope your hand injury continues to improve.
Vici - don't know about the song you were talking about but Australia's Mental as Anything sang one called 'If you leave me, Can I come too?' Loved it - they were performing at a local club here on Sunday but the show was booked out before I tried to get tickets. Darn it!!

Heidi (left the best till last!) Happy 2 day birthday. Will try to Skype you tomorrow but might be difficult cause we have got electricians in doing some work for 4-6 hours. Pleased to see you are increasing your menagerie with calves and chicks. As I've said before you are amazing - thanks for sharing your fire story about saving the sows.

Back from gym. Ally took the xrays to show her coach, he was suitably impressed and wrote on her cast.

I said he was flying home so the pilot could go to bed...Hubby muttered under his breath "He could be going to refuel"!
Enough with the negative vibes!

Seriously though, those blokes are full-on heroes. They have been working non-stop since last week, plus they were flying on Saturday, doing their water bombing, on a day with 100km winds. Heroes or what!

Lots of heroes out there... I am in awe! I can't imagine the piloting skills necessary to fly in those winds.

I've been going through the slide show you put up the link to earlier. The koala photo was used on TV by the wildlife victoria guy. He said no wild animal would allow that unless seriously distressed. Very sad. And so great that the CFA guy stopped to help him.

When I think about the job the people going through the burnt out areas looking for people are doing my mind goes blank. Unimaginable the things they will see. The limit of my heroism will probably be donating blood the next time the mobile unit is in town.

I get annoyed with the stupid interviewers who get someone beside their utterly destroyed home and ask them 'how do you feel when you see this?' or something equally mundane.

I know what you mean June. I almost wish one of them would turn to the reporters and say "I'm ecstatic, never liked this dump anyway" or something totally off the wall, though if they did it probably wouldn't make it on air.

Suzy, a lot of those homes have burnt with such ferocity there will be little to find there.
Did you see the people who had lost their home but found their gold fish in the outside pool? I was amazed the water in the small pool had not boiled from the heat.

Suzy and June - those reporters, especially 7 & 9 ones are the worst at that and, unfortunately you get the news you ask for. So if people stopped watching them, they may have to rethink their journalistic ideas. As I said yesterday, I get my news from other sources (radio, paper and internet) and only watch 9 or 7 at these times when unfortunately they are at their worst - remember them all setting up camp in Beaconsfield. Now they've set up camp in the worst of the disaster area. Ghouls!!
I'm on the same soapbox again. It's my pet peeve though! Excuse me, I'm off to watch TV (NOT 7 or 9!!)

I agree with you June, we must have been watching the same thing tonight. To be honest, that is when I turned the idiot box off. I have just about had enough of the coverage. It isn't going to get any better, in fact, it will only get worse.
I feel for those poor men and women whose job it is to try and find the missing. Unimaginable.

CynB, I think we have now all seen enough. Anything now is just a rehash of all the grief. I think we all get news from a variety of sources (and a lot comes through these pages as well)

I have a bit of a snuffly nose and tickly throat so will think of going to bed soon I think. I have been fighting this off for a couple of days and thought I was OK yesterday. This changing weather does not help.
