We eat a lot of it, too, but bell pepper soup doesn't sound very appetizing to me. To each his own.
The price of gas is down to $2.039. Exxon had record profits last quarter again.

I had an optometrist appointment today. Sometimes I fall asleep in my glasses and the fairies come out and try to bend them up. I buy titanium frames so the fairies can't hurt them, but this last time they must have sent in a real hippo who did a number on them. These have now been professionally unbent and the new ones come next week.

Heeheheh love that Ruby re your glasses.
I used to sit on mine all the time, the pair I had before what I have now.
I spent a fortune on the ones I have now, the frames are Christian Dior but I will never do this again.
The arms fell off not long after I got them and then they had to send overseas to replace the frames and then the arms fell off again!! NOT HAPPY JAN.

Tomorrow is election day. OK, so it's after midnight, so it is tomorrow now. Nonetheless, this
election will be over. (Unless we have another fiasco like last time.) I fear what comes next. If Obamma looses I fear black people will feel cheated and possibly react. If he wins, I fear white people will feel cheated and possibly react. Prejudice is a strong filter on how we view events and a powerful motivator. Liz, a few stanzas of "Why Can't We Be Friends?" are appropriate now.

Hell everyone - 3rd best nag - that's me!
After drawing C'est la Guerre on here I put $2 (big spender that I am) each way on it and won - wait for it - $16 - which would be okay if that was my only bet but nah - I lost heaps (as in $50 or so not hundreds or thousands).

Melbourne Cup party was OK but not well organised. Food was yummy but that had a huge TV the size of a wall but no sound until we complained when they started to bring the horses up to the track but we still couldn't hear the commentary. Didn't know who the first 2 horses were until the photo finish was decided.

I was kind of shocked to see a recipe for capsicum soup too. And by total coinkidink, a day after I saw the recipe I was offered 8 free capsicums. I thought why not, then I can try it out! It has onion, garlic, chicken stock, diced tomatoes, red capsicum (cooked then blended) and just before you serve add cream. I thought it would be too sweet, and it is very sweet. I added salt and pepper to a sample and preferred it that way.

Ruby I will be glad when your elections are over too. Between the Melbourne Cup and your elections that's all we have on TV at the moment! We even have polls being run about how we'd vote if we could (70% Obama last I heard). The election is one of the first two stories on the news every night, and all those news programs like 60 minutes are also doing analyses... We probably know as much about your election as some Americans do!

Susan, I'm all down in the mouth now that you have told us about your clever children. d1 is supposed to be studying for her yearly science exam tonight. She is up to topic 3 out of 7 - and yes it is nearly 9pm, and I caught her reading a novel... Hopefully she'll pull a rabbit out of a hat tomorrow! She has done that in her younger years, but the work is getting harder now...
