I'm glad I missed the spider discussion. I don't much like them, but usually allow them their space. There was a caged pet tarantula in a classroom I once taught in for half a school year. I let the owner take care of feeding and cage cleaning.

SUSAN, hubby did tell me that Windows 7, the soon to be newest operating system, was being hurried to release date. First plan was for 2011, but now target date is for February, 09. I still have not received the mail from him about Vista, might have to remind him about that.

I see that Mamacita is on site. I would have thought she would still be out partying after Barack Obama won.

It's not urgent MizTricia. Son doesn't want to get a new laptop just yet, as it's a really busy time with assignments and end of year exams coming up, so he doesn't want to take time away from that to set up a new one. Feb '09? That's a good time, just before his final year of uni starts. But then I wonder if one should buy one of the first ones, or not. Usually the bugs get ironed out after new ones have been out for a while I think.

I carry huntsmen outside on the end of a broom. I'm old enough to remember the days when there was no antivenom for the funnel web spider bite...

We also get little lizards in the house, had a blue tongue come into this room once.

Yes, I had a good giggle over some of them... did you see my comment about not being able to write properly anymore? I've just nagged my study buddy into getting started again so I can talk to someone in the lingo and get it back!

I just had a giggle remembering hubbies first ever encounter with a huntsman. He had only been in Australia a couple of weeks and got a really long board to carry it outside. The spider sped down the board toward him and he let out a bellow that shook the walls!!

Things got quiet here tonight. Hi, Susan and Suzy! Is there no one around to nag at this hour? I certainly don't have a nag-type avatar. Also don't have a spider avatar and don't plan to every obtain one.

It's past 10 pm here. Even though there is plenty of ffuts to do, I avoid it at this hour. Usually the only kind of ffuts you would catch me doing this late is last-minute packing for a trip or addressing envelopes or wrapping packages in the last-minute lead-up to that capital C holiday.

No nag avatar here either Julie, but that's because I never ever ever nag....

Just popping in to say hello and to let you know that while I'm exhausted after a busy weekend of doing all that I could to add to getting my choice elected and working the polls all day yesterday, I am one happy and proud person...my comments on easy explain my thoughts and feelings. I am amazed I got on to read, next trick will be to get this post to upload!Our connection problem is getting worse, we just discovered our phones are not working at least some of the time when the computer DSL lineis not working. Al's brother tried phoning us, unsuccessfully, 3 times last night, when we were home sitting with a phone within reach. I think it is time to phone ATT again tomorrow!

Mariana, I just watched a news video of Americans in Sydney taken last night. Very moving and emotional. An older Afrian American man was crying 'i never thought it could ever happen, i wish my parents and brothers and sisters were alive to see this' etc etc. Very moving...

With phone lines affected, this inconvenience has turned into an emergency. What would happen if you couldn't call 911 in an emergency?

Suzy, he's still braver than I am. Sorry, spider lovers, but no spider gets a free trip to outside if I'm around.

Suzy... this victory is ..... well, I'm having trouble finding a earth shaking word to fit. The biggest voter turnout in history. The biggest margin of victory ever. The American people had enough, and finally voted for the right man, regardless of color.

The color of a person's skin should be meaningless. One color horse is no better than another. Same with all other living creatures. Why should a human be judged by skin color?

Hubby said he was proud to be American again. This morning I sent him an email saying that Prop 8 had won. He answered that he was now embarrassed again. Australians are no better on that issue though.

A lot of commentators were surprised at how many whites voted for, and supported Obama. I think people voted for him because he was the best MAN, not for his color. Which is how it should be.
