Another .ovely day today. I went out to water plants today, has been a while since we had rain, and some of them were very dry. One of our new residents, Linda, who is in a power chair because she is an amputee, helped fill watering cans and bring to me. Enjoyed working with her today. she told me next time I watered, to come get her tohelp. Nice to have a helper :)

I came inside, my shirt was wet from my cool cloth, and I got a chill, even after changing shirt and bra. So I dug out a sweater, in
August, In alabama, will wonders never cease.

Tomorrow I hope to go to lunch with Joy, for her birthday. she will come pick me up, but no idea what time, she usually sleeps in on Saturday, later than her work week, and she is not up till 15 till nine week days {smile}. she has to be at work at 9 am, but she works from home, so she brushes her teeth and makes her coffee while her computer is warming up. We might make a 2 pm lunch time if I am lucky.

Nothing else going on here. good to see Julie, June, Suzy, Mama and Heidi drop in. Catch you all again tomorrow. Hugs to each of you with extras.

Greetings!

Suzy, it's good to see you! You have been busy - back at subbing, I see. I'm glad the excessive rain didn't cause huge problems for you! What a shame you didn't get to see your friend, but I suspect she understood the reason for your absence. May she R.I.P.

Mama, I'm glad things are continuing to go well for you.

Heidi, I hope there is no cholesterol problem, and hope a new prescription in your glasses corrects the situation you have been having.

June, I like your TOPP! I think we all tend to think of our friends and ourselves as we were in the last year at school.

MizT, how nice to have a helper while watering. That should make the task go faster! Enjoy birthday lunch with Joy. Please wish her a Happy Birthday from all of us!

Sending , positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and healing energy for everyone!

Heidi, i hope you don't have cholesterol problems. I had high cholesterol in my 20s when I weighed 104lb. Now I'm older with bursitis in my shoulder and hips, which makes exercise difficult, and I weigh a lot more, I'm on the max dose of a combination of 2 different cholesterol drugs to try to keep mine under control. They think it might be something to do with my strokes.

MizT, I hope you had a lovely time with Joy.

Suzy, nice to see you back posting here. Pleased you and hubby are enjoying the empty nest. I do hope that you keep well. I do understand the exercise problems. I was going to do so much walking before we go away but that was a dream. I am taking two walking sticks and will just do as much as I am able.
Heidi, I hope you get your new? problems sorted quickly. Eye problems are a worry.
Laura had a cold so fingers crossed that we do not get it. The bedroom has been well sprayed with 'Glen 20'. (Antiseptic spray to kill all germs).

June, how many more sleeps till you leave? I do hope you do not catch Laura's cold, no fun to travel when not feeling well. Flying can be especially unpleasant.

I have chosen what I want to wear out to lunch today, had my bath and shampoo, styled my hair. I will wait to dress till I know what time Joy will be here. Nope, not naked as I type, have on one of my favorite 'loungers', a nice cotton seersucker short sleeved long robe/dress, whatever. Loose and cool.

Tanya has been loosing weight and lots of inches. she came in yesterday with a new pair of skinny jeans and knit top, with a cute belt to give it some shape, and she looked fabulous! I did not know pointed toe heels were back in fashion! remember wearing those when in high school, oh so many years ago. Hated them too, always made my feet hurt. but that is what Tanya had on yesterday, she even needed new shoes, her feet are smaller. WTG, Tanya.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Just a quick visit to say Hello!

Hello, Suzy! Enjoy your 'grown-up' evenings now that you don't need to worry about getting young people home and safe!

June, I hope you have successfully kept the cold away as your trip nears.

MizT, enjoy your lunch with Joy! Congratulations are in order for Tanya! Has she been making a concerted effort to lose weight?

Time to get to bed, as an early alarm is set for tomorrow. Good Night, All! Feel free to share the enclosed healing energy, , positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

Two more sleeps. Not packed as yet. Yesterday we had lunch with the rest of the group so that we all know one another before we leave. I had a coffee at lunch so now I am awake!
not packed yet but will do most of that later. lots of clothes and things on the spare bed. Just to decide what to take and what to leave behind.

Lovely to read that many of you have had great
days. Hope you get something done for your vision Heidi!
Recapping from you Julie, is such a bonus when others don't visit daily.
Have a wonderful holiday June without any colds from Laura.
Tami...I wish I could visit everywhere in the U.S.
but limited time and money. You are welcome to come to NY or Philly though.

It is my baby boy Paul's 37th B/day today. I remember like yesterday when the kids were little. Do others feel that your mind still feels young but the body tells a different story?
MizT. Good to hear you are still active in the garden making a nice atmosphere and enjoying the work. What has happened with the water leak from overhead? Maybe I missed the result.
Mama..thanks for posting Pauls parcel. You had a lot to deal with recently, and it is truly appreciated.
All ok here. Still planning our holiday which now includes Paris and meeting a friend in London.
My highlight though, will be NY, Seeing Mama and hopefully Heidi and anyone else if they wish to meet up.
Take care

Nola, the water leaked about 2 hours, then stopped. About 8 am, the maintenance man knocked on my door with the powerful vac, to suck up any water, but I had dried the floor with towels and the bath mat. he came in and lifted out one of the tiles in the suspended dropped ceiling in the bathroom, to let the area dry out a few days. He said that a valve upstairs had broken, he had repaired that first, that is why the water stopped dripping. Tanya came at lunchtime, after picking up lunches from St Martains, and she took the wet things home to wash and dry them for me. So problem is all solved, no more water, till next time. this is the third time I have had water come into bathroom from above, I keep a large pan nearby to balance on the edge of the tub, where it hits, and that collects most of the mess. If it only fell 2 inches closer to the wall, it would land IN the bathtub and not be such a mess hehehe.

Well, I only thought I had solved my tummy problems. I had taken none of my meds except pain meds for about 3 days to let tummy calm down. today I took them, minus the one I thought caused the problem. Big mistake! I looked up the second of the 'new' medications and it also can cause gas, cramps, nausea and diarrhea. Must take the time tomorrow to call in for a time to chat with the nurse, even if I have to stay home all day till she returns my call, Bummer. Tanya was on her way to go grocery shopping with me, she went to pharmacy and bought me meds for gas pains, made me warm Jello to drink, and stayed with me till I began to feel better. Have not had cramps so bad since I cannot remember when.

We had a touch of fall weather today. Grey, damp, and very cool, just barely into the 70's for a high, that is our usual low for the day. It is just a misty mess outside today. A welcome change of the weeks of high temps and unrelenting sun.

June, I know you will get everything packed and ready to go, you are a seasoned traveler. Have a great trip, take lots of photos you can share when you get home, will be the closest I ever get to seeing the Galapagos Islands.

Nola, when is your trip scheduled? I think I remember it is winter, cause you were hoping for no snow so you could do some driving. London, Paris and NY, sounds a wonderful trip for you!

Julie, yes, Tanya has been trying to loose weight. the weight gain was caused by a medication she had to take, so she is now cutting back on calories, walking, and doing specific toning and tightening exercises to get back in shape. she also seems to feel a lot better, and I am very proud of her success. also very proud of the clothes she passed on to me. I have on a nice fall tunic today, a splatter print of purple, lavender, grey, black and wine, I just love it. It has 3/4 length sleeves, elastic under the bust and covers the hips nicely. Very comfy, too.

I need to find a sweater, or something, it is cool and damp inside this afternoon. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Hi, Everyone!

June, I hope you and Ken have successfully avoided getting Laura's cold. I also have confidence that you will be packed with plenty of time left over for your trip. Have a wonderful time!

Nola, sending birthday greetings to your son. Happy Birthday, Paul! Your upcoming holiday sounds wonderful!

MizT, I'm so sorry your tummy troubles have returned. Hopefully you'll be able to get through to a nurse or doctor tomorrow. Luckily you're not having the excessive heat and humidity that is so common in August, which would probably make things even worse!

Heidi, sending condolences on the passing of your good friend Janice. I suspect the next couple of days will be difficult for many in the community.

It's time to head to bed after a long day which started with platelet donation. Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, healing energy, positive thoughts, and for everyone!

Hi All, Just dropping in to touch base....nothing much going on. The back has been a tad hurtful this week and I've been taking things slowly. The kids got back home and Angelique has started second grade...how time flies.
June, hoping all goes well and your trip is a completeely enjoyable experience

for you and Ken.MzT....feel better sooner...it's so hard finding an upsetting med when you are like a drug store when needing pills to help control some of the things that try to run your life. Nola, Happy Birthday to Paul, and to answer your questions about aging and body being in disagreement...My answer is a very loud yes. I may feel anywhere from a confused tyke in single digits, a rebellious teen, a frisky 20's a solid 50's or a very decrepit 100...But I fondly recall many precious memories of the kids being a variety of ages, those times seem as if they are very current...and add to a real 'feel good' time for me.
Nola, I also agree with your invitation that any who may wish to have a meet up please note that Nola will be here in Philly around the first of the year. If you are on holiday and want to have lunch or something, I'll be glad to try and set something up if given enough notice. Dates will be shared with those who may be able to take part. Hope some can do this...of course we know the weather can be a problem, as well as time, so here's hoping.
Take care, I care. Peace.

Julie, I phoned the doc office this morning about 9:30, still no call back from the nurse. It is 5 pm, doubt I will get a call now, bummer. I hate waiting around the house all day for a call and nothing. I really needed to go to grocery store. Tummy is feeling OK today, a bit sore, but none of the pains from yesterday.

Heidi, I did not share my tummy problems. Hurt so much none of my problems could have been missing hehehe. I hope you are better soon. I promise I did not sneeze on the computer and I washed my hands to keep germs off the keyboard.

Got a call today, my hearing aides are in at the doc's office, but cannot get appointment till Sept 9 for my fitting. Just as well, NO medical transport this week or Monday of next, Labor Day Holiday that Monday. I prefer going on the bus, can take my chair, there is a lot of walking in the medical center, up elevators and all that. I might could walk it and be fine, or my back could complain before I got 1/3 the way there. It is just easier having my chair.

Tanya cooled salmon for us today. I had it in freezer since last month, time for it to be cooked and it was delish. Not sure how she can cook fish so much better than I can .

I need to go put up signs for book club tomorrow. I had them printed this morning, and waited for phone call that never came, bummer. Hopefully people can see them tomorrow morning.

Hugs to each of you with extras.

Almost packed. Have to sort Meds for what is in case and what in handbag. (travellers tip, always have medication in two places in case one gets lost). Today will be watering garden and pruning the roses (2)and clearing out fridge and those last minute jobs. Leave here early tomorrow morning. A 15 hour flight to Santiago then 5 hours at the airport waiting for the flight to Quayaquil, probably a 6 hour flight. AND IT WILL STILL BE WEDNESDAY. I know we will be travelling for about 30 hours or more before we get a rest. The problems of travelling from Australia.
Thanks for all the good wishes for our holiday. I will try to keep you up to date as we travel.

The nurse did call me, the next day. She took down the information, said she would check with the doc and phone back. So the third day after I phoned, I got his message. Stay off the meds for a week, then try only one a day, and I might want to try the brand name instead of generic, it is better tolerated. We will see how this goes. I imagine the 3 days I stayed off the meds the first time was just not long enough? Happy to say that without the meds, my tummy is much happier now.

Tomorrow is appointment with pain clinic, have to show up, pay my co pay, just to get scripts for the next 3 months. At least I am able to get the meds I need, so many are not now, and it is getting harder. Yes, there are people who abuse prescription meds, and there are those who sell their meds for profit, and this makes it so much harder for those of us who take them as directed and need them to function. I do not know a solution for this problem.

June, I hope the daughter of your bowling friends took good care of you on your flight. Enjoy your trip, take photos to share with us who do not travel, please. I hope you were able to get a opy of your passwords to your sites after your morning shower.

Heidi, I do hope you were able to attend the funeral. It seems Janice was well loved in your community. I know you all will miss her.

Good luck at the Pain Clinic, MizT. Do you have a big umbrella to attach to the chair? If not, I'll bring one along next time I visit. I have a bunch of 60'' umbrellas. They/re big enough to fully cover 2 people. That should be big enough to cover the power chair.

Hi, Everyone!

Heidi, what wonderful news that the new glasses are helping!

June, I'm glad you're already seeing lots of flora and fauna and taking photos! Enjoy each day of your journey!

Just a quick note, as I know not everyone is on Facebook. The first entry I saw today was from Kathy Keefer Foster's youngest daughter Kyley. I don't think Kathy has been involved with this page, but she has posted on the Sudoku Easy page as Kathy from Valrico. Her husband Rob also was on the Easy page for a while. They are both on Facebook. Rob died suddenly yesterday. I don't know any more than that. He had posted on Facebook as recently as Sept. 1, so his death must have come quickly and stunned the family. I have seen posts from Mama, MizT, Roma Bean, and many other Sudoku-ites who are also on Facebook. I apologize for not remembering others from this page who may have posted. I just thought I should share this information.

Julie, thanks for posting about Rob here, I had not thought to do that. So shocked, it was so sudden.

June, I can just picture you taking photos of the huge turtles. I have seen them many times on the Galapagos specials on Nat Geo. I can only imagine how wonderful it is to see them live and in person. Enjoy your trip, and hope the walking is not too difficult for you.

Nola, do you plan to ring in the New Year at Times Square, as they do the countdown ? Lots of people out there, not sure I would be among them even if I was in NYC at the time. Two of my not so favorite things, crowds and very cold weather.

I shall have to heck out our specials at Aldis, wonder if they have same thing ? Well, not likely, as you are going into spring and we into fall. Today EP bus will take some residents shopping at Aldis, it is not a usual shopping trip. I know, should be 'an usual', but that is not how I would say it. An orange, an apple, but a usual trip, sorry.

Pain clinic visit went very well. And I was seen and home in an hour, marginally amazing for that group, usually have a longer wait. We are planning injection for the right hip, that seems to be my worst pain at the moment. I sleep on my right side, and hip pain wakes me during the night and of course is the first thing I notice come mornings. Now to wait for the clinic to contact insurance, insurance to approve it, then clinic to schedule it. It should happen before the month is out.

Heidi, no I do not have an umbrella for the power chair, I have thought about that but have not figured out how to attach umbrella to chair so that it can be lowered for getting through doors. Usually if it is raining, I just postpone going out, exceptions being doctors appointments. Other doc appointments I am on the bus, and Elmo escorts us to building under his huge umbrella. If it had been raining yesterday I would have driven car, did that once before. We did not get the promised rain yesterday.

the elevator in our building is out of service, has been off and on most of the week. Repair man has been out multiple times, it has worked for varying periods of time after each visit. We do have access to the other building and their elevators, easily here on second floor, using the pedestrian bridge. Other floors have to go through 2 fire doors and across landing for the enclosed fire exit stairs to get across from building to building. Not easy in a power chair, or even a walker. I do hope it is repaired today, and not out of service over the weekend.

Enjoyed having my breakfast with you this morning. Now it is time to start my day. Not sure what I will find to do today. I did print out a lot of new adult coloring pages last night to share, and there are many many more free pages, might print out more today. Need to get to Aldis myself, finish my grocery shopping. I watered all the containers yesterday so that is done for a few days. With less heat, am able to go longer between watering, and s
