Yes, MizT, Paul wanted to be in NY for the New Year. I have no idea what the crowds, and cold will be like but whatever, it will be an experience that we can, at least say we did.
I hope insurance covers your injection and you get a good result.
June..looking forward to your pics.

greetings friends. Nola, the crowds at Times Square are thousands, elbow to elbow, most of them under the influence of their favorite adult beverage, which they may slosh around on their neighbor as the crowds jostle about. The cold depends on the temperature that year, but usually cold or colder, so dress very warmly. You will be outside, unprotected from winds, and hopefully no freezing rain or snow on the ground or blowing about, brrrr. I have only seen the TV coverage of this, and heard what the announcers say about the cold, and they have heaters under their open air desks, to help somewhat. There are people who return year after year, the TV crews usually talk with some who have come every year for 5-10-15-or 20 years without missing a year, so people do survive hehehe. If I had done that in my younger years, it would have been a once over and done event for me
I do hope you enjoy it, would be a great memory to have.
Today was grocery shopping day. I got them bought, got them home, got them to my apartment, a bigger than usual hassle because of no elevator in our building till at least Tuesday, And got the cold things stored, but then flaked out. There had been scattered showers while I was driving, nothing major and I have working wipers as my BIL always says, but just after I got home, we had a real thunder storm, lots of thunder to announce it's approach. My day went downhill from there. sometimes a storm seems like a freight train hit me, today was one of those days. Sacks of non perishable groceries sit in my kitchen floor. Dishes from a quickly assembled lunch sit in my sink, waiting on me. both will have to wait a bit longer. I did get the pain under control, down to a dull roar, but not enough energy to tackle those jobs. they will still be here tomorrow.
We had a nice rain, I will not have to water tomorrow, yeah! Rain just does so much more for the plants than all the watering I can do.
It is dark outside at 7 pm, should not be so today, but the clouds are still heavy and no sunshine is getting through. Makes me realize that the days are getting shorter, bummer. I should go downstairs and enjoy the cooler temps outside, it is a good 20 degrees cooler tonight, but that is not gonna happen today. I do hate being robbed of a perfectly lovely evening, though.
Monday is Labor Day here, a long weekend, the unofficial end of summer. Schools have either already returned to session, or will
Tuesday. Beach and resort towns shall be returned to the locals after this weekend. Mid-September is the best time to visit the coast here, days are cooler, traffic is minimal on the coast roads, most restaurants are not yet closed for winter, it is a lovely time to visit. wish I could make another trip this year.
We shall have a hot dog picnic on Monday to celebrate the holiday. I do hope they light the grill to cook the dogs, they are so much better when cooked over a fire. The resident's association is sponsoring this

The resident's association is sponsoring this lunch. I hope Tanya can come to help serve, but not sure if she got her tire for her auto today. They had to order it to get matching for the ones on her car, and it is taking much longer than they estimated.
Did I tell you I took dinner up to Lynn yesterday? I saw her when I bought squash from veggie man, mentioned I was going to make squash and onions, and she said that sounded sooo good. Lynn is still recovering from a hospital stay, then 2 weeks confined to her apartment, supposedly away from germs. Once I got started cooking them, I decided fried cornbread would be good with that, and sliced local tomatoes, you know, the kind that taste like sunshine, so very good. I had some purchased roasted chicken, could not resist the lovely aroma when I passed the deli at Walmart, so that made up our dinner. she phoned me after she ate, said that was the BEST meal she had ever had, and wanted to know how to make those 'biscuits' hehehe. I do add flax seed meal to my cornbread recipe, and fry them in a tiny bit of butter, they were delish. OH, I have leftovers, know what I shall have for my dinner tonight hehehe.
Nothing else going on here. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hi all
I'm very jealous of your trip June, it sounds amazing!
Yours too Nola!
Alie is going to the US in December. She's spending a few days in San Francisco, a few days in New York, and a week in LA to visit family. She is using the money she inherited from her grandfather. We've had it in term deposits since she was 4. She will be travelling with her boyfriend. He's living with her now. Did I tell you that he was beaten by a nekkid man who lived in the same apartment complex as he did? He was too scared to stay there. Alie's flatmate and ex boyfriend is really happy because expenses are now split 3 ways. The bf only turned 19 last week. They are very young to be living together and I see pain in their future, but I'm doing my best to let her make her own mistakes.
Dana and the kids are doing well. Bizzy is beautiful and going to be a handful, Daniel is all over everything and already a handful. Tahli is amazing and sweet. She is being assessed for spectrum disorders right now. She has a crazy sense of direction which leads to major tantrums if she's in the car and not headed toward our house. We are south of Dana's house so that is the only acceptable direction. A couple of times we have gone to an event south of here. The trip north to get back to our house was agony. She points at streets were supposed to take ans says 'that way', then screams if we go down a street she knows is the 'wrong' way. We've tried going all different ways to confuse her but she's learned all those too.

Greetings to all!
Heidi, you obviously needed the sleep! I'm hoping it's not Mono. You certainly don't need more things to deal with!
It's good to 'see' you here, Suzy. I wish you could have a trip - whether to the U.S. or somewhere restful and enjoyable. Alie is fortunate to be able to make such a trip so young. Thanks for the update on Dana and her little ones. Seems like she certainly has her hands full. Hoping for the best for all of them!
I'm headed to bed. Sending healing energy, positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and

Despite the fact that I can't seem to wake up, I have to be up early tomorrow to sort out all the steer calves over 500 lbs. We have an excellent buyer, so they won't have to go to the auction. They're going to be certified Red Angus beef. We're sorting them out at 9:00 am, before it gets too hot. The next morning, we have to load them up at 8:00 am to deliver them to the buyer. Fortunately, he's located only 35 miles away. But it'll be raining, so I'll have to drive at a crawl.

Soooo tired. I worked again today and I'm working Thursday and Friday too. Got to take the work when it's available.
Dana has had a preliminary report that Tahli will need follow up. Her brain is working faster than her mouth or something, and she needs to work on paying attention. That second sounds aspergerish to me, or maybe ADHD. She'll get the formal report next week.
My throat is sore. I'm not sure if I'm coming down with something or if it's limiting my liquids during the day. If you think having kids impacts bladder control, try having 2 strokes. Not a problem at home, but when you know you can't get to a bathroom for up to 2 hours, you don't take any risks.

Hi all, Just to let you all know that I'm still around. Nothing much going on here so I've been spending less time on the puter. My sleep cycle is off again and my days and nights are running together, so when awake, I try and do a few chores and then a little reading before computer time...then too. I'm sorta at a loss b/c I don't have Jazz to take care of anymore...sigh...sure miss the sweetie.
Glad you were able to get the caves sorted Heidi and know its great to have a reliable buyer and not have to deal with the auction prices and drive. Good for you.
Suzy...take care of yourself...changing seasons can bring all kinds of things popping up when you are around kids. I'd always come down with something when I was subbing. June, the trip sounds like one that will have some great pictures and back stories that will add up to a great trip. Wish I were with you.Julie, how did the concert go that you were working to learn new music for a couple of weeks ago? Or have I been out of the loop timewise? Nola, Sully always wanted to be at the New York New Years Eve celebration, but we found it hard to get a room overlooking Times Square on the holiday even when we tried more than a year in advance, and no way was I going to be in the crowd outside...You and Paul are brave folks. It should really be an adventure though and as Tricia said, some folks go back for years. I do hope you guys have a blast.Okay, I'll send this now and get back to my book..take care all. Peace.

IH miscounted. There are 12 calves to take tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to count initially. I was lightheaded and dizzy, and needed to lay down fast before I passed out. That's been happening a lot to me lately. I will have to make 2 trips tomorrow morning. My truck has a towing capacity of 7200 lbs, and the trailer weighs about 2000 lbs. Six calves per load, ranging from 500 to 700 lbs will be pushing my maximum. I refuse to overburden my Tundra. That's why it's in such good shape after 16+ years of hard work. IH's truck, which is 2 years younger, is on it's last legs and can no longer be used for towing. He has to haul a load of sheep and goats tomorrow, so he asked to use my truck for that. Since I cancelled my dental appointment for tomorrow, I'm just planning on crashing anyways. He STILL wants me to buy a new vehicles so he can have my truck. I keep telling him the same thing.....''NO''.

Greetings friends, it seems it has been a qhile since I dropped in here. I seem to have my nights and days turned about, night before last I had slept in the afternoon, found myself waking twice in my recliner and no idea how long I had been asleep. then I was up ALL NIGHT, got back to sleep at 7 am, bummer. did better last night, could have slept longer but had to be up for an early appointment with audiologist. I got my hearing aides today, and they seem to be working pretty good. I have a couple of problems I am not sure are caused by them, but it is looking that way, will have to follow for a couple days before I phone Christine, the audiologist.
Watered plants yesterday, had a good rain today, happy about that.
Well, one of our two elevators that were not working is back working today. I am not sure about the one in building 1, I used out now repaired elevator in building 2.
Tanya got her new tire on her auto today, came over and brought salad take away for our lunch. It was good too. I went to bed for a nap, before she left, woke to find my kitchen had been cleaned to within an inch of it's life. Nice to have everything clean at one time.
Mama, good to see you posting. Hope you can get your sleep problems straightened out.
heidi, glad you have a buyer for your calves. hope you get them delivered tomorrow with no problems.
time for bed now, I had more to say, but not easy to do so with my eyes closed and my head hitting the keyboard.
Hugs to each of you, with extras,

We are in Cusco. I have been taking the altitude tablets but they make me if a bit off. Better than having altitude sickness though. Two of our group went down yesterday when we were doing a walking tour of the village.
It is an interesting place. 90% Catholic and all the Madonnas and Saints in the churches dressed in the most elaborately embroidered costumes. Lots of gold and silver. The people were very colourful clothes. A good place to buy silver. We have a tour this morning and a free afternoon. I hope to do some shopping.
The streets are hard for me to walk on as they have very slippery stones. They look like someone has been out polishing them! Must go and get ready for the day. Because of the thin air everything is done at a slow pace!

I wish I was there with you, June. It sounds like a fabulous trip!
I got all the steers delivered this morning. Everything went smoothly except for the pouring rain the whole time. I had to drive extra slow because of all the weight in the trailer. It's impossible to stop quickly in an emergency with a heavy weight pushing the truck from behind.
The buyer was thrilled with the calves. He'll be putting a couple of hundred more pounds on each, then shipping them to a feedlot in Michigan that specializes in our kind of cattle for the East Coast market. ''Our kind of cattle'' means the good restaurant trade. Not Fast Food joints.

After we got home, Gil borrowed my truck and trailer to take a load of sheep and goats to an auction in Bowling Green, 1 1/2 hours each way. While there, he checked on current cattle prices for 560 lb top quality steers. They're selling for under $2.oo per lb. We got $2.21 per lb. today.
I'm even happier with this buyer we've found. Next month we'll be selling more steers to him.

We have seen some amazing things in the last few days. We are in the Sacred Valley of the Incas where they grew their food. There are high mountains and glacias in the surrounding mountains. Greetings friends, it is too late, actually early tomorrow morning already, to read. I thought I should check in since it has been a while. This weekend was a small forecast of fall, with daytime temps in the low 70s, such beautiful weather. Watered and did a bit of gardening clean up yesterday, grocery shoppe today.
In case I fet busy and forget, I shall be going to my sister's house to pet sit while she is on vacation. I will be gone 2 and a half weeks, so if I cannot find my way here on her computer, do not worry about me. Tanya and I are going, I hope we can stand such closeness for that long, but the house is large, she can have the upstairs and I can have the downstairs. Well we must share the kitchen, but we shall have our own spaces, there is even a sitting room on that level, and LOTS of outdoor places to get away with our own thoughts.
Time for bed, hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Hello, Sudoku Friends!
Suzy, I guess you're feeling better if you were able to work, though it sounds like the 'students' wore you out. I'm glad you didn't have problems with the rain. So sorry to hear about your friend's passing. She's in a better place, and I'm sure she understood that you would have visited if it were safe.
Hi, Mama! Glad to hear things are all okay. Take each day as a gift to be enjoyed. I hope you are feeling well!
Heidi, hope all is well there! With luck, you have shared in some of our cooler weather and the grass is growing slower!
Lots to do this week, especially practicing. With the 'school year' back in session, I'm back to weekly lessons, orchestra, and quartet. I'm trying to keep up with everything. So that means, it's time to head to bed for me.

A bit warmer today, and I need to get outside and enjoy, it is still pleasant out I am told, low humidity.
Julie, I am looking for someone, or a few someones to water plants while I am gone. I hope someone will volunteer. I did not think to much abut that when I told sister I could come pet sit, cause before when I was gone, Tanya watered for me. but she is going to do the drive over and stay too, so, ooops,
Heidi, glad you are finished with the horses 'pedicures' today. It is so nice of you to go to Barb's aunt's funeral. I know Barb will appreciate your being there. I hope the glasses continue to improve your headaches and eye pain.
Viv, good to see you drop in for a short visit. How was your trip to visit your son?
June, your trip sounds wonderful, but tiring. I could not make a 10 hour drive by bus, oh, it hurts just thinking of that, plus all the walking. You are fantastic, soldering along with all those stairs and that walking. Enjoy, and take care of yourself. I am happy to hear you sat out a few things you realized were a bit too strenuous for you. Sorry your friend misinformed you about the amount of walking.
Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.
