Ahhh, I didn't realize they were geese. I was thinking new birdies for your in-house cages. They are a pretty goose, aren't they?

Hello, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hi, Theresa! I agree that the Pomeranian geese are pretty. I think I read that it is a very old breed.

Heidi, will they get along well with your other outdoor birds/fowl? Do you still have pheasants, peacocks and/or chickens, etc.?

Great TOPP, Heidi! I'd never heard that before, but I like the message!

Darn, I was hoping to get to bed earlier today, so I will need to say Good Night and send healing energy, , prayers, positive thoughts, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

greetings friends. I am up for intermission. Woke an hour ago with a bit more than an ache, pain meds working, but have the wide awakes now. Waiting for sleeping meds to kick in.

Well, drats, insurance has denied request for the pain block injections to neck. Reason? I have not had physical therapy for neck. Is physical therapy going to resolve disk degeneration and bone spurs?

I did get another phone call from doc office. the other tests they want is full body bone scan. Seems there is an 'abnormal lesion' on one of the vertebra in cervical spine. they want to know if there are more. another lie on my back on hard table for more than 30 minuets. Not sure when they will get this approved and scheduled, or where it will be done. Hope it is close, so I can come back home to recliner after the radioactive material is injected, as the usual wait time between injection and imaging is 3 to 4 hours. I would not want to sit in waiting room chairs for that long, pain and misery :(

. It is good to at last feel the headaches getting less severe, and not lasting as long, since nothing is being done for them.

WE HAD SNOW. Not much, and it is either melting or lowing away on the parking lot. Still some on the autos parked out there. We got none the first system, just rain, but did get a dusting the second band late afternoon. AND it is cold, tomorrow will not get above freezing all day, bummer. there could be melting of f=snow, though, if we get strong sunshine.

OK, sleep is coming again, I am off to bed again. Hugs to each of you with extras. I shall try to read and comment tomorrow.

ooops, that is atypical lesion, not abnormal one. whatever that difference means.

You sparked my interest MizT, so I googled. Obviously I'm lacking in my language education because the differences seem small to me.

As adjectives the difference between abnormal and atypical is that abnormal is not conforming to rule or system; deviating from the usual or normal type while atypical is not conforming to the normal type.
As nouns the difference between abnormal and atypical is that abnormal is a person or object that is not normal while atypical is (pharmacy) an atypical antipsychotic.

Hello my friends.
Nothing much to report, got to see a beautiful sunrise this morning. Bella is gently snoring at my feet and looks like another sunny day.
Hoping all that have health issues improve.
Love and hugs to everyone.

Thanks to raccoons, fox, bobcat and mink, I'm down to only one outside bird; Cotton-Eyed Joe. He's a White Eyed Peacock. The white eyes aren't the ones he sees with, they're the ''eyes'' on the feathers in his train. They look like normal India Blue Peacock feathers, except that most of them have a white spot in the center of the blue eye. And his flight feathers are white. Very striking looking. I've had Joe for many years, and he knows how to avoid predators. He is a strange bird, though. He likes to forage for himself and refuses to eat any poultry food I put out for him. He devours cat food, though, so even though I have only one barn cat, I have to put enough food out for several every day. When I've tried putting cat food and bird food out side by side, he stands on the bird food to eat the cat food. If anybody tries to deny that birds are descended from dinosaurs, they just need to meet ol' Cotton-Eyed Joe. He's a beautiful dinosaur.

A gaggle of geese are very good at warding off predators with their honking, hissing, biting and blows with their wings. Even a bobcat will have second thoughts about going after 8 of them. Geese stick tightly together for mutual defense. Peafowl are loners, so spend most time off the ground when not actively feeding.There's no reason that there should be any problems between Joe and the geese.

Theresa, how do Canadians keep their cheerful reputation? With temps like that I'd be itching and moaning all the time!

Big hugs to you Julie!

The Pomeranian smilies are STILL waiting to clear customs....

I have an appointment with my lawyer this afternoon, and my truck has a dead battery and broken driver's door handle. I'm about to call AAA and have it taken in to be repaired. The mechanic's that I use have rentals available that I can use to get in to see the lawyer. At least it's supposed to get above freezing today!!!

I have run out of milk, for my warm milk drink at bedtime. Tanya phoned me, asked if I needed anything. Of course I said milk. she went to her nearest wal mart, and found the shelves empty! they have not received shipments because of the weather between warehouse and here, icy roads. bummer. Oh well, I have half and half for coffee. Temps already just above freezing today, with bright sunshine, we should have a thaw today with NO refreezing tonight, forecast says temps will stay above freezing now, yeah. I think roads will be passable by afternoon, but Tanya is cautious, saying she will be up Wednesday or Thursday when everything will be thawed. Perhaps I should just order groceries from the SHIPT program, Public's grocery, who delivers. I am sure it would not take much to find $30 worth of things I need (minimum order is $30) When they have stock, that is, need to check into that.

See why in the South, it is mandatory to appear at your local grocery when James Span says the snow word? I should have gone with the rest of the population on Friday hehehe.

BTW, James Span is the weather forecaster for one of the local TV stations. he has his advanced degree in meteorology, and has been studying and forecasting the weather in Birmingham for over 30 years. Probably knows our weather better than anyone working for the National Weather Service even. During a tornado watch situation, I have seen him, on air, tell them to take another look at _____ and within 2 or 3 minuets, there is a new official warning issued by them, for the area he was indicating.

Heidi, hope your truck door is repaired, and a battery charged is all the battery needs, not a new one. Be careful out in your snowy/icy conditions. Hope the meeting with your lawyer goes well.

Teresa, I cannot imagine temps as low as you have. I know we are not prepared for such here in the south. My heat has been working at capacity this entire cold spell. It could not manage temps any lower than we have now. My BIL said his water exchange heat pump had not turned off in days. He had sized it for efficiency in our normal weather, and it barely able to keep up in this unseasonably cold, long lasting blast of the arctic air. neither do we have clothes warm enough for your temps. Stay in, stay warm.

HI Rolanda, Bye Rolanda. Sorry no one was 'at home' when you dropped in. Good to see you, try again soon.

Suzy, I am now wondering if there is a difference in the two terms medically, abnormal and atypical. Will have to look that up some day.

I am going back to my book, after I make a cup of coffee. Have not even dressed. Was about too when Tanya phoned the second time to say milk not available, but now, no reason. I have read 2 and a half books over the weekend. I had not been reading with the headaches, know they are better or I could not read that much. OK, the first two books were fluff, Nora Roberts early works, quick, easy read. she has grown, changed in her writing, blended

I'm back home. I definitely made the right call, calling AAA for a tow truck. They sent my favorite driver Tommy. My truck started right up for him, so he told me to get in and follow him. I backed the truck out of the pasking space, touched the brakes, and she died again. I restarted her, and as soon as she was put in gear, she died again. Fortunately, Tommy hung around to make sure everything was OK. This time, even he couldn't restart her. So she was towed in, and I have a rental. I told them as long as they have her in there, they might as well give her an oil change and check her other fluids. Besides fixing the door latch. They went right to work. It seems that I'm their only customer today and were delighted to hear from me. I have NEVER been in there when it wasn't chaos with the huge number of cars and trucks needing to be fixed.
And since I have AAA Premiere, I get the rental free for 24 hours.
My appt with the lawyer is in 2 1/2 hours.

Suzy, who says Canadians are cheerful???

Had a family dinner for my granddaughter's 12th birthday yesterday. We don't go out very often, so it was nice to not have to cook.

MizT, my daughter had lent me some books by Jude Deveraux, and I must say I enjoyed them.

We are expecting some nasty weather today, snow changing to freezing rain. So I am off to get some running around done now before it starts. As MizT would say, I must get off my fat frances.

Busy morning until the Imodium kicked in. I don't like mornings like that.
Then I fired up my tractor, put the bucket on the front end (instead of the hay spear), drove 5 miles to Debbie's and buried her ancient (Rhodesian Ridgeback) dog who passed away when the ground was frozen solid. It's MUCH easier doing that kind of work with a tractor than digging by hand. Then I drove back home, switched back to the hay spear, and fed hay to the cows and horses.
Once back inside, I checked on my truck. She was sicker than we thought, but I suspected as much. They put in a new battery (it WAS needed) , only to discover there's a problem with the computer connection between the battery and the accelerator. They've had to order parts from Toyota. I am SO glad I decided to have her towed instead of risking driving her. And she was loyal enough to me to get sick while at home instead of stranding me somewhere. That's one thing I've noticed with every Toyota I've ever had. They always make sure I'm safe at home before getting ill.
Cattlemen's meeting tonight. I'm packing a dinner to bring with me. Thick corned beef sandwiches with stone ground mustard, and mandarin oranges on the side. This way I can enjoy the program and company without getting sick for a week from the pepper. It may have taken a while, but I've finally learned how to do it right.

The cold snap is over. It's 51˚F / 10.6˚C now. This time yesterday it was 20˚F / - 6.7˚C. Big difference. It's going to stay warm-ish and wet for at least the next week. I can live with this, as long as we're not calving yet. I'll be moving the cows into the calving pasture next week.

~~~ WARNING ~~~
To those who use those 'fancy schmancy' coin counting machines in the various stores. You know the ones. They take a percentage of your money for the privilege of not having to count it yourself...
Be vewy, vewy, careful when you enter an account number for the machine to deposit your money to.
While reconciling a bank account, this morning, I found a deposit I didn't recognize. I called the bank to inquire. Fortunately, the individual, with whom, I spoke, didn't ask me, multiple times, if I was sure I didn't make the deposit.
It took almost ten minutes, five of which were ''on hold'', for him to find the source of the funds. Turns out 'whoever' had keyed in the wrong account number at one of those 'coin counter' machines. The machine, in question, is located nearly 3,000 miles from my current location. The money will remain in my account until such time as the individual who 'stuffed it' realizes their mistake.
Hopefully, the 'donor' will have kept the receipt and will discover their error. In the mean time, the erroneously deposited funds, will sit in my account. I was warned that my 'windfall' could disappear at any time...
I almost feel like I 'hit the jackpot'.
Oh yeah - the amount - a whopping $5.75.
OK.... the mechanics called me back. Apologizing. They searched and searched, but the needed part will cost me $1500.oo!!! And that's without labor. I've had this truck for 17 1/2 years, and she's been extremely loyal to me, so the only option is repairing her. And I NEED a truck. Oh, well. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new replacement. I only buy new vehicles (so I'm not getting someone else's problem) and drive them until they pass away from old age. Thunder (my Tundra) still has many good years left in her.
DOrA... This is why I stay low-tech. I don't use any form of punching in account numbers anywhere. Or having a card scanned. People steal the numbers. All sorts of messes can result. And I sure wouldn't want anyone to have the ability to remove even $5.75 from my account. The decimal might be misplaced. Terrifying possibilities. I would find some way to arrange with the bank to hold that sum in a seperate escrow account for the owner to retrieve from your bank if they decide to look for it.
Suzy, Virtually every major grocery store, in the States, has them now. Banks that will process 'loose change', even for account holders are, I think, the exception... As I've never used one of the machines, I'm not sure what pay out options are offered.
Greetings! No time to read, but hope to tomorrow!
Today was semi-annual dermatologist visit. All went well; prescriptions written for possibly stress-related rash; he left the room. In stepping down from the exam table (I'm a shorty), I must have caught a toe. HUGE pain, but I didn't cry out. Hurt all the way home (1 1/2 hours, but luckily hubby drove today). By the time I could look at it, it was swollen and PURPLE! I'm pretty sure at least 1 toe is broken, but no time to head to ER, and my understanding is that they just tape it to the neighboring toe. I'm exhausted (had a meeting tonight) and hoping I'll be able to sleep.
Sending healng energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, , and positive thoughts for each of you!
Three lots of treatment and it is going well. All appointments so far have been early morning. Yesterday we were there and back in 1/2 hour. Making me tired and I was not comfortable in bed tonight. I have taken a couple of panadol so will go back to bed soon. It was 40*c here yesterday. I have Laura (school holidays) so we went shopping in the morning as the large shopping centre is nice and cool. The AC is on in the bedroom as it is still quite warm tonight.
The cream from USA has arrived so I do hope it works it's magic and no burning from the radiation and I also hope it stops the hand/foot syndrome which could make them red, blister and peel.
Suzy, I have felt a bit 'ugh' today but it did not stop us doing some grocery shopping. The radiation is near the stomach which can make me feel nauseous. I am taking tablets for that. The effects of the treatment will get worse as I have more of them so, really I am OK at the moment. The hot weather is not helping.
Enjoy your visit with Broni tomorrow. I will see them on Saturday.
