Maybe I should change my name to 'oblivious' - I wasn't counting posts - but what would I use for an avatar?

Greetings to All!

DOrA, I think 'Earthquake!!' is a fine TOPP! I also like the quote from Kitty O'Neill Collins. Thank you!

June, I hope all is going well and you're keeping up your energy!

Suzy, I hope it's not diverticulitis! Also thinking positive thoughts for the BCC surgery. I hope you have a good and pain-free weekend!

Heidi, I'm sorry to hear your ear is draining again. There must be some way to get your ear infection completely cleared up!

WOW, MizT, what an awful birthday celebration. It seems like one thing just built on another to ruin it. I hope you're feeling better, and hope you can get through to doctors to get your appointment made! Take care of yourself!

Heading to bed. We need to get up early go to D's place and help with some work that needs to be done.

Sending cheery and positive thoughts, healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, and for everyone!

Hi all!

MizT, I hope the specialist has good news! It can take a while to get into a specialist in this town. We have so few who are willing to work here. Most are from Sydney and come down once or twice a month. I hope it's faster for you! That birthday party sounded annoying. On a bad day I might have had a go at the rude women. I like the food truck idea! It sounds like you have a good social coordinator!

Heidi, I hope your ear is better soon!

DorA, I think I hold the record for missing page changes, so I'll take the oblivious title and you can keep DorA.

Julie, the good part of your d needing help is that you get to spend time with her...

Okay, I'm past the waiting period. I had a mother complain to management about me not allowing her son to listen to some of the stuff that got me blocked from posting in here. I had just listened to a description of how to perform a not common act, in Victorian terms, they were reading an assortment of Victorian writings, and told her she really, really, did not want her child to listen. Apparently that censorship was wrong!

It is amazing how some people can be so rude. Sorry your lunch got spoilt by someone being sick Tricia.
Suzy, how insensitive of the Mother to complain when you were doing the right thing.
I am OK. Not a lot of energy and lots to do before the family arrive next weekend. I told Hubby he will have to stay home more next week and help me. (We do need to find the spare beds under the stuff piled onto them) I did wash the sheets on the Queen bed yesterday and the ones on the single beds are clean.

One of the stereotypes on the internet is that racist, bigots, can't spell. I came across this under a story about people painting 'Jesus says vote no' on a road.. it took me a minute to understand what she was trying to say

Vot yes it not there folt there Jeans are difren

I agree with her!

I have noticed that, too, Suzy. The more racist and narrow minded the person (and I use the word loosely) is, the worse their spelling and grammar are.

It is unseasonably hot, and seasonably windy here right now. Even with total fire bans, there are fires everywhere. The one I told you about is still burning, though it is contained. Locally there have been a few new ones, not near me, but it's the ones further away that have done some damage. Nothing like the big ones in Canada or California thank goodness. If it doesn't rain soon, that could happen this summer though.

Hi, Everyone!

Apparently I forgot to 'Submit Comment' last night after typing it. Darn!

I remember that I commented on the 'Jeans' as quoted by Suzy. It took me a while to decipher the meaning. Certainly different people have 'difren Jeans' as evidenced by spelling and grammar.

Thinking of everyone and sending strong wishes for healing energy to all!

Suzy, I hope the big fires remain confined and the smaller fires are put out. Praying for rain in the areas of our world that need it.

Temperatures here are also unseasonably hot (mid-90s, when 'normal' is 20 or so degrees less this time of year. It has also been quite dry, though not as worrisome as in your area, Suzy.

I need to head to bed early tonight, as I should be up and getting ready for a long day by 6 a.m.

Sending good wishes, prayers, , healing energy, positive thoughts, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!

Swearing loudly! 4th deliberately lit fire in the same area since Friday! Lots of houses where it is. It will make national news before it comes anywhere near me... I'm safe, in other words.

Although the fire is headed away from us, Alie has been preparing for us to be in lock down since we got home. She has filled every water container she could find, and has made us each a snack jar.

They have announced the fire on the news so I was worried about you Suzy. It is good to be prepared and also wear some natural fibre clothing and solid shoes. Blankets and water outside as well and clear everything away form the house. I never trust the wind. (We were caught at Belinda's place one year). Also something to block the gutters (tennis ball if they are round) and fill them with water.

They need to offer a huge reward for the name of the person who started each fire... big enough that their friends would turn them in. Then a life sentance at hard labor as punishment.

June, it's still red, emergency warning, but according to an interview I heard a while ago, Thor, helicopters and more than 150 fire fighters have slowed it a lot. I'm wondering if the strike teams from Sydney will leave now you have a fire in the national park.

Boy, isn't that the truth, DOrA? Getting older appears to happen to all of us, though.

I had a summons for jury duty yesterday. Anyone between 18 and 70 who has a driver's license or has voted and is a citizen is eligible. The county I live in includes Chicago, so is very large. Luckily, the court I was assigned to was under 1 hour away. My state has a one day/one jury rule, so if you're not assigned to a jury the day you are required to attend, you are released and given a check for $17.20, the amount they pay per day. If you're assigned to a jury and the trial lasts one day or one week or one month (any length of time), you still get paid $17.20 per day. No one was assigned to a jury yesterday, and one of the judges came and spoke to us thanking us for responding to the summons and explaining why they need to have potential jurors available every day, etc. She explained things well, and was actually given a round of applause in thanks. (I may have been one of the first to begin clapping, as I appreciated that the judge took the time to come and thank us.) A person can legally be summoned again after a year, but it has probably been over 10 years since I was last called. I must admit that I'm relieved that I was not assigned to a jury. It's a large responsibility knowing that someone's fate is in the hands of 12 individuals!

And so, today, I have been trying to squeeze 2 days of practicing into 1 day, as I have chamber music, string orchestra and a cello lesson tomorrow.

Thinking positive thoughts for all of our Sudokuaholic Friends, and sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , and prayers for everyone!

Heidi, I remember you telling me about that once before. Knew you could have done better than we did on that board hehehe.

Julie, I do have an appointment now, set for October 18. When I phoned, they could not find the request from my PCP. Good thing I phoned.

DORA, I liked both your TOPPs! Like you, cannot think of anything for an obvious avatar.

Suzy, it is not really cleaning if she just moves it from one spot to another!

Julie, we are not quite as above average temps as you are, but right near the 90's mark. next week a bit cooler forecast, near the 80's for a high. It is almost the end of September, time for a bit of cool! And we could use another rainy day, but none forecast.

Suzy, how horrible deliberately set fires. My wish is they catch the arsonist and as said earlier, try them for attempted murder. Why? Cannot put my head around that.So good that you have gone from red to blue, good job, firies!(SP?) Suzy, I did not realize it had been a few days since I checked in. No excuses, just life happening.

Still having side effects from my new med. I hope I have time to call the doc tomorrow. I have to call when I can be home to answer a call back, usually within a few minuets, but this one he will have to talk to doc about, could be much longer. Other than that, all is well here. Hugs to each of you with extras.

OOOPS, Near the 90's means just under and up to that. near the 80s means above just slightly, only one day forecast at 79. I am ready for fall, when the temps begin to.

MizT, I'm glad you checked in. Tahli gave Dana a scare yesterday. And me, via messages. She had abdominal pain so bad she was screaming. She had been to the bathroom so that was scary. Dana sent a short video of her waiting to see the doctor. She was a limp lump. She's doing better today though. Pain killers mostly.

Hi all. Read the posts to catch up and don't remember most of what I have read. It has been busy getting the kids in school back together. Schools were closed for 7 days due to Irma. It was like being back at the first day of school. Oh well, I can handle them.

Had a funny one yesterday. Kids are taking a diagnostic test on the computer. They will take 2 more during year to check progress. I can check the history of any student. I go to one boy 'J' and look at his history. For some reason, he was looking up dog poop. He tried telling me it happend 3rd period, but time stamp puts it right in the middle of 4th period. He asked if he could go to another teacher, Ms. H. I said fine. Followed him over (connecting door) just as he said he was not in trouble. Ms. H looked and me and I told her what he did. Went back to class. About a minute later I hear her class laughing loudly. It seems she told him, in front of her class, 'why are you wasting time looking up $h1t on the computer!' Her class was laughing at him.

Heidi, I'm a little worried too since we don't know what caused it, but Dana seems fine with it. Who knows, she might have eaten a tonne of junk food, they are on a kind of holiday, and Dana probably wouldn't tell me that. At least that's what I tell myself so I won't worry too much.

Tami, they were also probably laughing about the teacher saying $h1t in class. I wonder why he looked it up....

I'm at Dana's place. Since they are away I'm coming over every day to feed and play with her cat. She can't come to my house because I have a doggy door and cats out my way end up road kill. There's also Gizmo. We had her over once and he chased the poor thing in circles around the house. I don't think he would have hurt her, but she was traumatised.

Julie, getting old happens to the fortunate ones of us. There are those who never make it, you know.

Suzy, I know it was scary having T in such pain. Trying to diagnose any child is difficult, and one on the spectrum more so. If that had happened to my grandson, now almost 14, he could not verbalize anything about his pain. Was T able to tell her mom and doctors what she was feeling? So scary when a child is in pain and no one knows why. Hugs to you, Dana and T. How are the fires going? I hope going is the direction, too.

Tami, I too wonder why he was looking up 'it' on the computer. He obviously forgot you could check his browsing history. Kids.

Today I communicated to my PCP that I just could not continue taking that med with all the side effects. I gave it a good try, 10 days, and instead of 'getting used to them and going away' there were more and more severe. An hour later, they had called in a new medication, told me to stop that one. YEAH, at least until pharmacy told me the co pay on that. New brand name med, no generic. OUCH, a bit pricey, but if it will do what they want, without making me so sick, will be worth it. I am beginning to feel better already, and I took the last one just 36 hours ago. Tomorrow I start the new one, hope with me it has less side effects.

Now, a question for you. I have been buying Christmas ornaments for the new tree we will have downstairs, in the most used entrance to our facility. I have 6 dozen silver balls, in 3 sizes, silver ribbon, glass icicles, all I found on Amazon marked 'used' and at a big discount. Used meant the packaging was damaged in some way, contents were fine. Now I want to add a color. I saw a good price on 92 small 1 1/2 inch turquoise ornaments. my other option is red, 1 inch ornaments. I want to add artificial poinsettias, red with the red, or white with the turquoise. Which would you prefer, and why.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, and thanks for any comments on the tree colors.

Hi, Everyone!

MizT, I hope you are feeling better. I'm so glad you now have an appointment. I'm sorry you need to wait 3 weeks, though!

Suzy, I hope Tahli is feeling better! Hopefully it was nothing to be concerned about! Enjoy your visits with Dana's cat.

DOrA, that's my kind of multi-tasking!

Tami, what a struggle to 'restart' school. An adjustment for everyone!

The time has slipped away and I should be in bed. Good night, Everyone! Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , prayers, and positive thoughts!
