Broni, hoping your results are good!

Heidi, good timing! Imagine if it failed now!

Alie is in Sydney with her bf and his family. It's her bfs 21st on Monday and his family have travelled down from Queensland to celebrate with him. She sent us pictures yesterday of him sitting with all of his presents, she gave him a huge pile of cute, fun things. Dana and I gave him a good quality frying pan and a thermometer to use when he makes his lattes. He sent us a thank you message. Three is down to visit his kids for Father's Day. Surprise surprise he made another one. Not with Dana. The funny thing is that she has the same name as my grandmother and aunt. My aunt was my grandfathers child to a woman he was with long after my grandmother- she is only a couple of years older than me. I'll visit with Dana and the kids while three is with his other daughter. My brother has invited me to gate crash his fathers night out. I'm not sure I'll be good company.

Nothing really profound here...

Facebook..in real life...

For those of my older generation who do not really comprehend why Facebook exists.

Presently, I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles.

Therefore, every day I go down on the street and tell the passers-by what More...

I have eaten, how I feel, what I have done the night before and what I will do tomorrow night. Then I give them pictures of my family, my dog and me gardening and spending time in my pool.

I also listen to their conversations and I tell them I love them.

And it works.

I already have 3 persons following me: 2 police officers and a psychiatrist...

This is very touching!!

Oak Ridge Boys
I was NOT expecting that ending.... Even though it said we'd be surprised.....this is quite the tribute.
I DON’T KNOW HOW HE GOT THROUGH IT.

Listen to the end, you may be as surprised as I was.

Father's day here so I cooked a lamb roast for lunch. Belinda came as well as Laura and her father. It was a lovely day. I had a rest when they had all gone home.
Tonight I have been adding to my life story. I am putting my story onto the computer. Otherwise our family stories are lost. Facts like I did not start school till I was seven as we lived over 3 miles from the school and we did not have a car.
I have a CT scan tomorrow but will not get the results till I see the oncologist on Wednesday. I am not sure that I want to hear the results this time. However I am not in pain but do get tired and do not have a lot of energy. (due to being anaemic from the chemo)

DoA, I have read the FB one before but loved the song.
Heidi, I hope that you did not get too much rain and that the new sump pump worked.
MizT, Hope all the gunk has gone and you did not get too much rain from Harvey.
Suzy, I keep wanting to come south and take you to lunch. Hope I am up to it after the school holidays in October. Neil and family are coming here the first week of October. It will be nice to have them here and if they get too much I can shut myself in my bedroom!
Hi to everyone else. Hugs and best wishes. Julie, Broni, Nola, Tami, Julie and everyone else.

DorA, I couldn't get the link to work on my tablet, just sat there chunks chunking... is there a search term I can use to find it?

June, I'll be thinking of you and hoping for better results....

I broke my personal rule. I don't have even one drink if I have to drive. Dana has started getting her groceries delivered because it's easier than corralling three kids in a store. Her delivery was supposed to be yesterday, they couldn't understand her delivery instructions, she lives in an apartment and the building is kind of off the road behind a bridge. They have successfully delivered several times before. They said they would deliver today instead. Dana said it would have to be before noon because she was meeting people from out of town for lunch. no problem, they say. At 11, the delivery time changed to from 12 to 1. She called and cancelled. Tonight we went out for dinner with my bro and fam, I drove them home around 8, dana bathed the kids, put them to bed, and went to make Tahli's school lunches... no food! So I went grocery shopping for her so she didn't have to get the kids out of bed. This is where my rule breaking cane in, I'd had a glass of wine when I got home. Not legally impaired, but against my personal rules...

Hurricane Irma is now a category 4 hurricane! And it's still growing! Harvey only hit category 4 for a brief time as it first hit landfall. Irma is still far from landfall, but building. I predict that Irma will reach a category 5, the maximim force. They still don't know if it will follow Harvey's path, or swerve up to Florida and up the east coast. It's gonna get ugly.

I'm getting worried about Tami. Hurricane Irma has become a category 5 storm, with near-record 185 mph sustained winds. And she seems to be heading for Miami. They are talking about evacuating Miami now. ETA is in 3-4 days.

Hi, Everyone!

Have done a bit of catching up reading posts.

June, I hope you finally got warm and were able to stay warm for a bit. Laura will learn a lot about religion. I hope she enjoys it! Finding the money in the card was an unexpected pleasure. I hope you find a way to celebrate and treat yourself!

MizT, I hope you are finally over the crud, staying dry, and also warmed up.

Heidi, I hope you are feeling better! Hoping you don't get too much rain!

Love your posts, DOrA, especially the full deck. I feel that way, shuffling slower, some days.

Broni, how nice to see that you visited. I hope the checkup CT scan revealed what you and your doctor wanted to see! By now, I think you've seen the specialist. Enjoy your travels!

Suzy, what a busy day of driving! I hope you can get some rest!

Condolences to you, Judy, on the passing of your Mum! I'm so glad you were able to make a happy memory when you shared the wonderful things you have made for dollhouse miniatures! That was an unexpected blessing. {{HUGS}}

I hope all is well with Midge and her family!

Tami, thinking of you as you return tor the next school year!

The page has turned, but I haven't. I'm off to bed. Sending lots of warm {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, healing energy, , and positive thoughts!

I'm thinking of the people in the path of Irma, and the other two, whose names I can't remember right now. As if Harvey wasn't enough! I hope MizT is okay, and Heidi's pump kept working.

I've driven Tahli to school a few times lately. Dana got something in her eye in these winds we've had and it took them a few tries to find it and get it out... her questions are getting harder. One day it was why is grandad dust, the next it was how big is the earth, where do hummingbirds come from? Why do they have long beaks? What do baby hummingbirds eat? Ew, that's gross! I'm going to have to brush up on everything because I don't know what she's going to hit me with next!

Just dropping by. Suzy, just do your best with Tahli's questions. If you don't know, it's OK to say that. Sometimes, you might want to turn it back to her with, 'What do you think?' It sometimes helps you find out what she really wants to know. (It might not be what the question indicates.)

Thanks for letting us know about Tami!. So far I haven't heard anything about extremes in rain fall near Heidi or MIzT, so crossing my fingers.

It's VERY late, so I'm heading to bed. Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, prayers, positive thoughts, and

I'm volunteering at an art/music/science type show. Got my tentative assignment. The theme is birds and the bees...

- As an Artwork Marshall you will be working alongside Artists Katia Molino and Michael Cohen. They have a performance at the Singleman’s Hut called An Intimate Soiree.
This performance with be ADULTS ONLY. So this will need to be monitored. (There will be plenty of signage on the day and in the program noting this).

That sounds interesting Suzy. Good luck answering Tahli's questions.
Last report was not the best. I decided not to read it although I do know the general gist. The tumour in the liver has increased and on Monday I will see a professor about injecting radiation directly into that tumour. The chemo seems to be slowing down the other spots. I do get tired because of the blood counts being low but otherwise feeling OK.
I won a fruit tray in a raffle at our fashion parade this morning and a meat tray at our prawn and chicken dinner tonight. I made the seafood sauce for 112 people tonight. The prawn were lovely.

June, i will be thinking of you! I wish I was up to the drive north! My nose is running again though so it would probably be better for me to stay away anyway. 🙁

Facebook is filled with pictures of freeways full of cars going nowhere, comments that all the gas stations are out of fuel, photos of windows with shutters (including Tami), it's scary right now.

Greetings to all!

I can't get on Facebook tonight. I'm assuming that thousands of people are trying to find out about friends and family using Facebook. My sister and BIL flew into Orlando, Florida, on Monday for a week-long holiday. They left this morning at 5 a.m. using the car they had rented to get around while there. (They had been scheduled to fly back to Chicago next Monday.) I haven't heard from them in at least 8 hours, when they had reached Georgia and were hoping to continue on to Tennessee. I was hoping to find a post from them on Facebook, but still no luck. At least we know they made it out of Florida!

Suzy, your volunteer assignment as an Artwork Marshall in a session whose theme is birds and bees could be very interesting. Since it's billed as adults only, the theme is obviously NOT tongue-in-cheek.

Thinking of you and staying alert and ready to answer Tahli's questions. Luckily, our older grandies are past that stage, and our youngest is only beginning to talk. I guess I should start preparing.

June, congratulations on winning a fruit tray and a meat tray. All you need is a veggie tray to make a meal . . .

Will be thinking of you and crossing everything for when you see the professor on Monday. Certainly hoping his approach will zap that tumor in the liver!

Hello to Everyone I haven't mentioned. I'm going to try Facebook again, as well as texts to try to find out how my sis and BIL are doing.

Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, healing energy, , and positive thoughts and vibes for all!

Julie, I'm watching Facebook too. Jane is having trouble getting out, but is on her way. The traffic seems to be holding her up, along with the lack of fuel. Tami is shuttered and getting ready to wait it out. They're the only ones I've seen updates from recently.

Not all of Siteworks is adult only, dana is working an orchestra thingy that's on at the same time as the one I'm working. Not sure what Alie will be doing, but she will be paid for it. Probably food.

I mowed my paddock! It had not grown too much as there hasn't been any rain, but I decided to catch it early and mowed it lower than before. It hurts to walk now, but it's done. Bloody dog got through the locked doggy door, he unlocked it somehow. I even had a kids chair in front of it, which was still there when I got back. I had to speed up the paddock to lock him in the yard before he got out to the road. Next time I'll shut the gate first, even though it's a pain.

The most recent post from the people I know are in the storms path, that I can find anyway, is from 8 hours ago. For some reason Jane went back home after driving 12 hours to try to get away.

I'd love to hear from Heidi and MizT who were starting to be hit by rain from Harvey. I have no idea if DorA is impacted, but I hope not.

As for myself, I am very happy with the knee replacement and am now pain free. I was out of hospital in 4 days and back to work after 8 weeks.
Starting to lose the weight after being so inactive for years.
Paul and I are going to the US and Canada in April, driving from LA to Seattle, then up to Vancouver for a 10 day tour. Looking forward to being able to walk, see snow?? and lake Louise etc.
Stay safe Tami, and my nephew in Bradenton.
Bye for now.

June, you do so much! But there are limits for everyone. My limits are mostly psychological right now.

Nola, so glad to hear you are doing well! You were quite slim when I met you. Hope you aren't losing too much!

This the debut single of a country singer who I think is a friend of my brother. He has performed at most of their birthdays and other special events for the last several years. He wrote this while being treated for lymphoma. He hasn't quite beaten it yet. I think you'll like it. It's already number 4 on the country charts!

Hi, Friends!

Suzy, thanks for keeping us up-to-date on friends impacted by the Hurricanes and related rains!

June, thanks for letting us know that DOrA is away from the storms. For some reason, I'm thinking California is DOrA's home state, but I can't explain why I think that. Hopefully also away from all of the devastating fires!

Happy Birthday to Broni! Are you 'On the Road Again,' Broni?

Nola, I am still taking cello lessons and practicing as much as I can fit into our crazy schedule. I'm also trying to find a bit of time for wood turning and will take a 2-day class in October.

Nola, I am so pleased to hear that your knee replacement has gone so well! Just 4 days in the hospital and back to work in 8 weeks! And even better, NO pain! It was well worth it! And now, you are able to be more active, lose some weight, and plan a trip in April! Phenomenal news!

Suzy, I wasn't able to find the youtube with the information in your post, but did a little exploring. Might this link take us to the correct song? If so, I really enjoyed it!

Hi all. Just a quick check in. I have no power but my mom does. I am at her house charging cell phone and checking in. I have a lot of debris to pick up by house but no real damage. Stop sign/street sign on my corner got knocked over. Luckily it forms a T intersection so I don't think there will be any accidents. I live at the cross of the T. At the stop sign you can go left or right. Will be back here as soon as possible. Crews already out restoring power.
