Although that is true, I had a problem with the grammar. In fact I wonder if dr Seuss actually said it, I think he’d have better grammar

It DOES sound like Dr Seuss' grammar.

Good luck with your bephew, MizT. It sounds awful. It also sounds suspiciously like one of the many diseases caused by the Epstein-Barr virus.... like MS.

Greetings to All!

Great TOPP, Suzy! You're right; it's stated awkwardly. Thanks for the heads-up for the TOPP, Cyn.

MizT, I hope your grandson's condition is at least stabilized for now, and hope a great neurosurgeon can see him soon.

Heidi, hopefully you're taking it easy. Thinking of you & Daisy.

Daisy is in her final stage of cancer. She's now vomiting up chunks of clotted blood. I don't think she'll make it another 24 hours.

Happy Easter! Ali bought me rocky road (rocklea road, Darrell lea, of course), because that’s what Mum used to buy it for me, ferrero rocher because that’s what Don used to buy for me, and a bunch of tiny eggs from her. It was very thoughtful of her.

I didn’t get much sleep last night. Alie went to a party last night and didn’t know if she was coming home or not, which meant I might need to pick her up. Around midnight I sent her a message asking her if she was staying, she was, so I poured a glass of wine. It was hours before I could sleep.

Now bob is telling me all about cleaning a bbq hw was given, he had to unscrew the bits to clean. Sh1t, he might be retiring down here.

It's raining here still. .. with at least 3 more days of rain and thunderstorms. I have hay to move and I can't without tearing up the fields horribly, and possibly getting hung up. I had to catch another escaped calf today (maybe the same one) and got my boots stuck in 10in / 25cm of sticky mud. At least I got the calf in after it ate the poultry feed (cracked corn).

Hi, Everyone! Thinking of all of you and sending positive thoughts for improved weather.

Heidi, I am SO sorry! We know Daisy was very special to you. At least there is no more pain or discomfort for her and she can be with her friends who have already crossed the Rainbow Bridge. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Suzy, how thoughtful of Alie to give you such special gifts!

It's too bad the glass of wine kept you up after you found out you didn't need to pick her up from the party. And then to need to listen to Bob after picking her up in the morning. I hope he doesn't retire near you. There must be some way to convince him of better places to retire!

Thinking of all those who may need to be dealing with Cyclone Iris. Hoping all will be safe and not negatively impacted!

Heidi, I hope the rain and thunderstorms will end soon and you'll get some sun and drying weather! We're getting more nights with temperatures in the teens F. Snow is even predicted for Wednesday. And we have tulips coming up! Hopefully, we won't lose them.

Sending lots of healing energy, positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and for all of you!

Heidi, I'm sorry about Daisy. You will be overwhelmed at the rainbow bridge when you get there - so many well loved animals waiting for you.
That cyclone in north Queensland is affecting us 800-900kms to the south. Very wet today. Just the day the mower man was due.

Wishing everyone improved weather! Cyn, it's amazing that you're feeling the wrath of the cyclone so far away. I hope it will be less wet tomorrow.

What a great Easter avatar, Cyn. Love the girls in their Easter pastel colors! How quickly the years fly by. Crossing fingers that the youngest of them will 'see the light' and return to school, or at least get an equivalency diploma (if you have such a thing there).

Heidi and MizT, I hope you are both experiencing less pain and better health. Sending extra-specially strong positive thoughts and healing energy!

Suzy, how is Gizmo doing? Did you ever get a chance to do the reading you were hoping to do?

Thinking of all our Sudokuaholic Friends and hoping everyone is well! I'm sending an ample supply of healing energy, positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, and for each of you to enjoy and share!

Julie, the one who has left school is Emily. We have all tried to talk to her in our different ways over the last 6 weeks, but really she has never liked school and has got very little from it. My belief is that she may be on the spectrum, but undiagnosed. She had the childhood epilepsy as well as being abandoned by her mother. She is the kind of person that, once she finds her niche, she will do fine. But, at the moment she is in danger of falling through the cracks. That's what worries me but I have to tread carefully.

Hi all,
Julie, I’m trying to read, but Alie is home and is either talking to me every 5 minutes or asking me to drive her somewhere.

Cyn, in NSW, kids can’t leave school without a job to go to until they’re 17. Some still manage to slip through the cracks though. Girls are harder to diagnose, unless they have the severe nonverbal-head banging level, because it presents differently. I suspect Alie is on the spectrum too. The only jobs she has worked she got because she knew someone.

greetings friends. Did not realize I had been absent so long. Blame it on the knee, sitting at the desk is again uncomfortable. Instead of getting better, it is getting worse, bummer. Not sure what to do about it next.

I did not make the Easter Parade, bummer. I had worked outside for an hour, came in for lunch and to get ready. Just needed to rest with leg straight, in my recliner, more than go to party. I had recovered enough an hour later to make it to Scrabble.

Yesteday took the bus to Aldis for groceries. that particular store is undergoing remodeling, and posted a notice, inside, that while remodeling they would not be able to keep full stock in the cooler. They had NO MILK, no half and half, but lots of specialty items. wondered why a necessity like milk was left out. I do hope next month we can have bus to another Aldis store, as this remodeling will be going on till mid July! I can go on bus Friday to a different store and get items I did not get at Aldis, but at a higher price, bummer.

Going to try to get back to sleep, yes, it is 7 am here, but I did not get my nap out. and have sat here as long as I can. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

We had a mssive storm front go through last night, High winds, thunder & lightning, pouring rain and power failures throughout the area. The wind removed the roof to the local middle school. Yesterday it was 70˚ outside, now it's 38˚ outside.

I'm not saying this on FB, but I am an idiot!
The Commonwealth Games opened with much fanfare (apparently) last night. I didn't see it! It started at 7 pm and I was going to record it so I could pick it up later in the night. Then I saw that it was on again (repeated, I thought) at 10.30pm, so i recorded that. Only to find that what was on then was just a very quick 30 minute summary of what happened interspersed with many ads! I got up early to see this!! Now I'm going to have to watch the Today show to see if I can pick up the highlights. My own stupid fault!
I am disappointed beause it would have shown my beloved Gold Coast in the best light, the way it should be with happy people, great fun, bright colours, sea, sand and skyscrapers, instead of the crime ridden sin city it now is underneath.

Alie is working a wedding this weekend which reminded me of an anecdote. A few weeks ago there was a wedding with a dragon mother. The lawns must be freshly mown, there must be exactly 4 coffee presses, etc etc etc. the layout at Riversdale has one double room for the wedding couple and the rest of the rooms have single beds. The mother of the bride took the double room! The bride and groom got a room with single beds!

Actually, if I was the bride I would thank her for the opportunity for both of them to stay in a single bed together haha - that would fix the old dragon up!
One of the horses we have a very small share in (Double the Magic) won last Tuesday by 5.5 lengths - it was so exciting. Other horse racing on Friday April 13 - a good omen!
CynB - I couldn't watch all of the games opening. I kept flicking back and forth as i really only wanted to see the athletes arrive - not a bunch of people flicking towels around. Some of it was good.I saw one highlight they will not repeat!!
Heidi hope the weather is kinder to you - you really can do without a boggy mess.
MizT - sorry you missed out on the Easter celebrations - I hope the bunny still found you.
Hope no-one wants pumpkin soup Julie - take care.
Wonder how Nola and Broni are.
Cheers to all.

Midge, Julie, speaking of pumpkins, I have a pumpkin vine growing in with the lantanas out in the parking lot. last fall, someone put a small pumpkin out there, and left it. over time, it decomposed, and one seed sprouted. HUGE leaves and getting more every day. Maybe I should get a trellis for it, just because.

I have an appointment with orthopedic doc April 16 to see about my knee. It is hurting more and more, walking at all is so uncomfortable by nightfall it keeps me in my recliner. It seems to get worse as the day progresses, but less pain in the morning.

They could have got me in next week, but our bus is going to the mechanic, no medical transport all week, bummer.

today I had a great lunch. Broadstreet Peaux Boy food truck was here, I had a shrimp and fries box, with coleslaw. First 30 people's lunch was FREE and our services coordinator made sure I got in the first 30 group. I had told her I could buy my own lunch, but she would not hear it. She found a 'sponsor' who donated funds for 30 lunches, our menu was very limited so all offerings were same price, but a rare serving of fries should not hurt me.

Tomorrow the soup truck comes. Not originally planned back to back. Broadstreet originally planned to be here last week, but rain kept them away. Some of the soups have been to hot for me, spice wise. I just do not do hot spicy foods. Hope tomorrow's is not spicy.

Hugs, Heidi, hope the snow misses you. It was cold here for about one hour about daybreak, but not enough to bother my flowers. Have one more forecast night of near freezing I think Sunday morning about daybreak. I will have to watch that one. Hope this cold, hot, cold, hot weather straightens out. I loved the meme on TOS that said 'Mother Nature is bipolar and off her meds.'

Time for my meds and then to bed, hugs to each of you, with extras.

Greetings to All!

Cyn, it's easy to understand your concern about Emily. I hope she soon finds her niche and learns to be comfortable in her own skin as the special person that she is!

Suzy, I hope you finally found more time to read! The dragon mom sounds awful. I think Heidi's idea for the newlyweds is a good one!

MizT, I hope you can get in to see the orthopedic doctor soon and he/she is able to determine what is bothering your knee! I also hope the once you have an accurate diagnosis, a plan can be made that will give you some relief! The food truck sounds wonderful! I'm hoping there will be a soup that is much less spicy than on that truck's previous visit.

Heidi, I hope the snow missed you completely! We had an inch or two on Wednesday, flurries today, and snow predicted tor tomorrow and Saturday. I wonder where Spring went.

Thinking of all of you, both those who find there way here fairly frequently and those who we see less often. Sending lots of warm {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , positive thoughts, and prayers for everyone who visits, even occasionally!

Alie doesn’t know how it turned out in the end. She only knows because she had to “do” the rooms. She frequently says “I hate wedding beds”. Apparently they’re a bit fancier and more work than regular beds. The other stuff was gossip from coworkers.

MizT, I hope the orthopod helps you. I have just started having trouble with one of my knees and with the small amount of discomfort I have and the inconvenience, I have been imagining how bad it is for you.

Midge, I hope you had some money on the horse! I smiled about the single bed thing because it reminded me of our engagement story. The kids think it’s a good story, though they don’t know about the single bed bit. Hubby and I had spent the day at the beach and I had a ‘touch of the sun’ as we say here. My brothers held a BBQ to quote p1ss f@rt and swear unquote to show hubby what a real Aussie BBQ was like. There are photos of dozens of beer bottles pegged to the clothes line. I drank champagne with hubby, (boyfriend at that point), and it didn’t mix well with my sunburn. I was ill and hubby proposed. He said if he still wanted to be with me with puke on his foot, it must be real. 😂😂

!I hope all's well in all parts of the world!

Suzy, I didn't realize how many duties Alie has at work. I guess she's kept pretty busy. We really didn't need to know the outcome from that wedding party - just curiosity.

Midge & Heidi, I apologize for confusing who came up with the excellent idea. Midge deserves the credit.

DOrA, what a wonderful quote from Mark Twain! I'm glad we didn't need to wait for a TOPP for it.

We have an extremely busy weekend and week coming up. Just a 'heads-up' that I'm likely to miss some days between now and about 2 weeks from now. When I'm here, I'll try to be sure to send a good supply of , powerful healing energy, {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, positive thoughts, and prayers!

Hi all! I was talking to Gail this morning on Messenger. She said to say hi to everyone and that she does miss you all. But she is finding that she loves the quieter life without being an internet junkie - whih she was, let's face it. All is well with them, except for the little problems we all have.
Someone (Midge?) was wondering about Nola and Broni. Nola - I don't know about, and I don't think she has posted on here since I came back last October. But Broni phoned us about 2 weeks ago to see how Col was. They were in country NSW and often don't have internet access. They were fine then.

Hi, Everybody!

Cyn, thanks for the update from Gail and Broni! I also don't remember the last time Nola posted.

Suzy, I'm glad you were able to see a wombat, a wallaby, and a possum. Were you just sitting and waiting for Alie when they appeared?

Heidi, I hope the snow is less of a problem than the mud! How are you feeling? I hope all's well with all of your 4-legged critters! Are you taking care of yourself?

Dodgems on the road actually. Luckily, the road is very windy so I was driving slowly. The possum was actually on one of the 180 bends. It ran all the way around before dodging off into the Bush. So cute! The wombat was at the bottom about to cross the road and the wallaby was at the top, just getting off the road. I’ve been up close and personal with a goanna while waiting before, but the others stay away from the buildings when people are around. I have a friend who seems to have about 20 almost permanent kangaroos in her yard.

We still have kangaroo dodgems around here. It's a worry diving at dusk along some of the quieter roads. I have had to stop to let a koala across the road before. Possums are more nocturnal and run along power lines and fences. We know if there's one around, Jewel barks at them. We don't get wombats here in Qld, I've only seen them at Australia Zoo.
