Julie, it was Tuesday at 9 am. I never know if injection was a humdinger or not. I am put to sleep for about 5 minuets while they do it. Wish they would leave me alone afterward, cause it is a good sleep! But they are waking me up immediately, get me out of the wheelchair even, need it for the next victim. but I understand your wish and say thanks for it,

Off to bed now, wishing you all happy thoughts and Suzy, what is a pantec? Hugs to each of you with extras.

This was not the huge immediate success the last one was. I am not hurting if in bed or recliner, and that is a great improvement, but as soon as I stand or walk, not so good. My neighbor brought up my lunch, I ate and went back to bed, stayed in bed or recliner untill 5 pm. Spent more time there today. Luckily only slight, mild headache this time.

MizT, hope you feel better after a sleep.

You know the refrigerated trucks that drive around, they’re pantecs. This one was converted into an office and sold to us for $1. It cost over a thousand to get it here though.

A pic of the painting is on TOS. It saves on my tablet in a format this site can’t accept.

Alie has left to spend the long weekend with Dana. One of her guy friends is taking her. I’m enjoying some quiet time with Gizmo. After a sunny and not quite as cold day yesterday, we are back to overcast and dreary. A good day to spend inside.

Checking in as evening meds begin to take effect. Woke today with less leg pain, then I got industrious and did some cleaning and straightening. I had been told by staff member tomorrow would be our inspection day. My cleaning lady also phoned to say she could not come today. After pleading my case, she did come in long enough to clean drip pans of my stove, previous cleaning them cause
d the chrome like finish to be lost and they rust. Found out at scrabble that the date had been changed a week, Notice was taped to walls inside elevator. Since I had not been out of apartment, I had not seen it. So my cleaning and having Jasmine come in for 25 minuets to clean stove were not necessary. the only thing one can count on around here is change.

Site is very slow tonight, words do not appear as I typpe them, but sometime later. forgive typos please, I cannot get back to correct them.

Hugs to each of you with extras, I am off to bed now.

MizT, I’ve had that happen on my tablet. I’ve had to close everything and reboot it to fix it. But you use a PC so maybe it’s something else.

Bummer that all your efforts were for nothing. I hope they didn’t make you hurt again!

How was your day, Julie?

DorA, how is your rehab going? Still getting on tractors?

Midge, do you have any races this weekend?

Heidi, are you still sleeping a lot, or has the trip to the dentist helped?

I wonder if nola is home yet.

These days I have a memory like a sieve and the attention span of a gnat so I’ll just send thoughts to everyone else.

The groin muscle is back to screaming agony. I cannot walk without a cane, and try to do as little walking as posible. Or sitting. That hurts like crazy, too. Well, my doctor DID say it would take a l-o-n-g time to heal. That's why I haven't been on here much lately.

Heidi, I am sending get well wishes to you. That pulled muscle sounds most painful, like you did not have enough pain going around. Hope you can find something that helps it heal faster. Huge Hugs, friend.

Suzy, no idea what caused the computer to be so slow, but it is doing better this afternoon. Wish I could share some of our hot weather with you. Mid 90's, and this under overcast skies. MUST water again tomorrow, hopefully before it gets too hot, but waking up and getting going is not easy. I did make it up and out to take our bus to the grocery today. IF my milk had not gone bad, might could have waited a few more days. must have my mug of warm milk at bedtime. My hot chocolate without the chocolate, just milk vanilla and sweetener.

Just read that Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone had spewed forth columns of water 7 or was it 8 times since March? This is not it's norm, way more than usual. And there is a 2 mile crack in Arizona, the sides pulling away from each other. Probable cause, too much water has been pumped from the aquifer underground to water crops. California is running out of water. On the Big Island the lava has filled a bay, and cooling lava stretches 3/4 a mile into the ocean. Lava filled the largest fresh water lake overnight, and devoured 270+ houses, in the same one night. I fear we have fouled our nest and are paying the consequences now..

Hello everyone!
I've been AWOL thanks to the flu which I still have. It's by no means the worst dose I have ever had just the kind that is annoying and uncomfortable, especially yesterday and today with the head cold.

Heidi, you said your groin felt better after resting it before so I’m sure doing as little as possible is the right move. Hope it at least is not agony soon!

Cyn, I hope you feel better soon too. I didn’t have my flu shot again. Sigh.

*sarcasm font* I’m having a very productive day today *end sarcasm font* I’ve loaded the dishwasher and done a couple of loads of washing. I’ve given Gizmo a bunch of pets, and I’ve made coffee. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow.

Hello, Friends!

MizT, so glad that you had less leg pain today! It's too bad you industrious cleaning and Jasmine's efforts with the stove's drip pans were not necessary. Well, at least there done and will be easier to do again in a week if necessary.

Oh, NO, Heidi! I thought the muscle pull was getting better. It's not fair that it came back with a vengeance. Take care, and easy does it when you start on a project!

Cyn, I hope you knock that flu out quickly! I hope your daughter and her hubby enjoy their vacation in Hawaii! Are they only staying on Oahu, or will they be able to visit a few of the islands?

Suzy, your day sounds more productive than some of mine, though I always seem busy. Today we got to babysit the youngest grandie. She really enjoys sticker books, so we took one to her. She finished the entire book while we were there.

I finally googled one of my meds, which I guess I should have done before I filled the first prescription, but I’m old, and don’t always think of these things. It turns out that, apart from PTSD , which it is prescribed for, it is primarily prescribed to reduce blood pressure. I don’t have high blood pressure so I’m assuming, the feeling like I’ve had two too many was low blood pressure.

Then in November when Maddy graduates from school, instead of doing 'schoolies week' here where they go to the beach and drink themselves stupid and get arrested, Karin and Maddy are heading to New York together to see, amongst lots of other things, Macy's Christmas Tree lit up. Wish I was going with them. I was invited but decided not to for many and varied reasons.

CynB, I hope you are better today, the flu is on it's way out. Feel better wishes by the bushels winging their way to you.

Suzy, you got 'something' done today, so not a wasted day. Hope tomorrow you can do more that you want to do.

Julie, I am not using the stove till after inspection, I can make do with microwave for planned overs Sunday and the one day I did not order up lunch next week. It is too hot to cook any way.

Suzy, I can join you and Julie trying to be more productive tomorrow. I did get flowers watered, this morning between 7 and 9 am. I need to take some soapy water down, my new plants in hanging baskets have a film over top of soil, water runs to edge, down the side and out. Soap is supposed to cure that problem.

One of our residents took his seniors farmers market coupons to Pepper Place this morning, and I think he spent them all. We get a whopping $30.00 worth, must buy produce from the farmer who grew it. Supposed to help the farmer and seniors both. Pepper Place is not a place to get produce bargains, it caters to young professionals who are moving back into the city and renovating homes built in the 1940's. But as Dave looked at it, produce he bought was 'free' so it did not matter what price was charged. He gave me a tiny purple cabbage, about the size of an over grown Brussels sprout, and one of the first peaches of Alabama's peach season. I quartered and steamed the cabbage, it left purple stains in my white dish. I shall let the peach ripen a bit more.

Cyn, your 'schoolies week' sounds like spring break here in the states. High school and college kids go to the beach, whatever town that will sort of look the other way to bring in the tourism dollars, and they do the same. Drink, have wet tee shirt contests, and get arrested if they get too stupid. More affluent young people are now going to Mexico and to the Caribbean, but traditionally it was Panama City Beach in Florida when my girls were teens. and NO, mine were not allowed to go. I think Maddy was showing great maturity in making other plans.

Suzy, do you have one of those home use blood pressure cuffs, that work on the wrist? It might be good to take your BL when you feel as you described, just to see how low your BP is. In the mean time, be careful getting out of bed or chair, till you see if you are dizzy or not. Your body should acclimate to this new BP in a few weeks, if it is not too low.

I am able to be up and about longer before the left leg pains return. Sleep at night is still hit or miss, sometimes 3 or 4 hours, followed by 9 to 12 hours next night. I sleep when I can and do not worry about it.

Time for bedtime meds here, huge hugs to each of you, with extras.

it seems my freshly watered containers from 12 hours ago are attracting rain, once again. rain came last week just after I watered also. Pop up t storms, hard blowing rain with thunder and lightning that mostly runs off into storm drains, but maybe does a bit of good. it is one of those little noisy rains that you could drive away from in 3 minuets. Will take what we can get. good night all.

Greetings to All!

Suzy, I'm glad you googled your meds. It's important to know that it's also used to lower blood pressure. It would be worth checking with your doctor to find out if the dose is correct, or if you should to anything different to be sure your blood pressure doesn't drop too low. Sometimes patients are cautioned to avoid becoming dehydrated.

I hope Alie is having a good time with Dana and kiddos! Be sure she takes photos & videos to share with you. When will you get to see them? Hopefully rather soon!

CynB, I'm glad your D and SIL are enjoying their time on Oahu! The trip to New York in November sounds wonderful, as well. I hope there will e another opportunity for you to make the trip sometime.

Speaking of races.... we have another Triple Crown winner!!! Justify just won the Belmont stakes wire to wire! He's the second horse to win the Triple Crown undefeated (the first was Seattle Slew) and the first horse to win it without having raced as a 2 year old. He also beat more horses over the 3 races than any other Triple Crown winner. To make today's race even more impressive is that he did it from the first post position. The last horse that won the Belmont Stakes from the #1 post was Secretariat. And he did it with a 52 year old jockey.

Also worth mentioning - 'Belmont' is the longest of the three races. Correct me, if I'm wrong, Heidi. I think that Belmont is 1 1/2 miles. Justify is truly a champion...

Cyn, New York! How exciting! I’d pick that over schoolies week too! One difference between spring break and schoolies, for most young people anyway, is that the drinking here is legal, it’s what they do drunk that can get them arrested. Most spring break people are under drinking age and get arrested just for that.

Heidi and DorA, the triple crown win even made the news over here!

Heidi, I hope it’s a doozy!

DorA, I hope your check up goes well..

MizT, you’re a rainmaker! In the literal sense of the word, rather than the financial sense...

More rain went into the ground last night than I thought. I went out and pulled weeds at 8 am, the ground was so soaked they came up roots and all with just a tug. Also cut back the lantana that encroaches into the first parking space. I pulled out the pumpkin vine too, the little pumpkin had disappeared, squash borers most likely. Wish I could have done more, but ran out of energy fast. I filled a 55 gallon trash bin, good enough for an hour's work.

Another pop up t storm north of us, I hope it comes this way. Would give me another day of weed pulling tomorrow. I need to repair my battery op shrub trimmer, also. I was trimming away at the lantana and it came apart, bummer.

I ate my first 2018 Alabama peach. Very good. Cling seed, the clear seeds will be a bit later coming to market.

Heidi, I thought of you when I saw headline that Justify won. Seems to be one remarkable horse.

DORA, hope the 6 week check up brings good news and less restrictions to your activity. Do let us know once you find out, please.

Julie, I will gladly hand water flowers if it will attract rain. I heard and saw this storm, usually not visible out my window, nor loud enough for me to hear. Rain was blowing sideways and I found 2 pots with taller plants turned over from the wind.

Time to get ready for bed, hope I go to sleep earlier tonight, was into the wee hours this morning fore I got to sleep last night. Huge hugs to each of you, with extras.

I hope you get a good, long sleep tonight MizT!

One thing that is great about my new meds combined with cold weather. Before the change, no matter when I got to sleep, even if it was 2.30, I was awake and too restless to stay in bed at 5.30. On the new meds, about an hour, sometimes 2, but not usually, after I take them, my eyes won’t focus on my reading anymore and I go to sleep. When I wake up, my brain is perfectly fine with reading before I get up, and maybe even let me nap a little more. I’ll even get 7 hours sleep sometimes!

Hi, Everybody!

Heidi, thanks so much for the update on the Belmont Stakes! I wasn't able to watch, but several people told us what an exciting race it was. Justify must be an amazing horse to win the Triple Crown and set various records.

DOrA, I hope the post-op check-up goes well and your are given more freedom, even if it means you'll have more chores to do. I'm glad to know you've been following doctor's orders - at least most of the time.

Heidi, I hope your epidural tomorrow is awful and you get home and sleep for hours.

MizT, you must have really been working quickly to fill a 55-gallon trash bin so quickly. I'm glad the ground was so wet and made pulling p the weeds and their roots easy. Here's hoping another storm keeps the ground wet for more weed-pulling tomorrow. How nice that you have had your first Alabama peach of the season! I hope you get to sleep earlier and sleep well through the night!

Suzy, I'm glad your new meds are working better and allowing you to get a good night's sleep!

Time to head to bed, so I'll send the evening's healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, and !

Suzy, glad to hear your new med is helping you to get more sleep. thanks for your sleepy time wishes for me, I think they helped. I got a nice long sleep, with less medication than usual. Tonight I tried the exact same meds, same time as last night, and so far NOT the same results, bummer.

Julie, thanks for your wishes too. One reason I filled the trash barrel is I pulled up the pumpkin vine. HUGE leaves, they took up a lot of space. Tough vine, did not want to compact. and I did a major trim on the lantana with battery operated trimming tool, swept up a bunch of branch tips I had cut away. IF that barrel had a compactor attachment, it would not have been full. No more rain and I slept too late to get out to pull more this morning. I will have another chance again, I feel certain.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, time for my sleeping meds and warm milk, then to bed.

Good Evening! (Yay, it's not 'night' yet.)

MIzT, I'm glad you slept well last night and hope you are sleeping by now tonight! Maybe you'll get more rain in a few days so you can attack the weeds again.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I went to bed when I got home from the hospital. I did NOT get an epidural. I believe my new insurance company messed up, They only approved a consultation, not a procedure. I am NOT happy. Before I signed up for this insurance, I discussed the epidurals with them, and they said that they'd be no problem. So I'll be chewing them out tomorrow. The earliest date they could reschedule me for is July 2nd.

Heidi - Glad I don't work for that insurance company - I don't blame you for being so angry- you rely on these epidurals so much for pain relief, and to have to wait another 3 weeks is ridiculous and so unfair. Hope you are getting some help with looking after your animals.
MizT - sorry to hear you have to do all the gardening on your own and whilst you are having difficulties. Doesn't anybody who lives there and is able have a conscience? Can a request for help be put on a noticeboard?
CynB - hope you enjoy your new kitchen and hubby is coping better. My friend had a corneal transplant a few month ago (they actually can keep them frozen for 3 months before transplant). Now reading and thinking of having the other eye done.
Suzy - glad you had a quiet weekend - sometimes you need the quiet to enjoy the chaos later!!
DorA - good news about your checkup - you must be behaving yourself.
Julie - haven't heard how your cello playing is? Hope you are enjoying it - that is the most important thing.
One of the horses (my favourite True Kisses) has been operated on for an entrapped epiglottis which would explain why she can run like the wind sometimes and be so flat-footed others. She is out for a few months now. The other one Double the Magic is having a resort holiday as well and will be back in prep in about a month - so I keep working to pay for them. Went to the football on Monday- my team won - great game and great charity cause for the day Motor Neurone Disease. There were nearly 81,000 spectators there. Our lanky American,(2.11m) Mason Cox, kicked 5 goals - it was fantastic to see him with so much confidence. Off for more tests this week on my legs - seems the veins are 'incompetent' so looks like I am stuck with it. Take care everyone.

I went out for dinner last night. My niece leaves tomorrow for 6 weeks in Europe. The first three weeks she will be with extended family (my sister in law is related to half of town). Her cousin, or whatever he is, married a French woman so they are staying with her relatives in different parts of France and Spain. They will be staying with other friends in Britain except for one place in England I can’t remember. The second three weeks she will be on a kontiki tour. That will be interesting because she doesn’t drink, and I think that’s kind of the reason most people go on kontiki tours.
