I am anxious for the school bus to get here so I can find out how Ally's day went. I felt like I was sending her off to the lions today. She didn't say a word, but I could tell from her body language and expression she was nervous. Everything crossed that she was worried for nothing!!

Missed Rena and Mama, but are you still around Broni???

Ally had a good/bad day. She was told she had to report to the teachers at the end of every recess and lunch. The 'group' of bullies got in trouble for something else, which made her feel reassured. One of them even confirmed to others that it wasn't Ally who got them into trouble. The two from last week confronted her at recess and insisted they didn't say what she said they said (they've told their mother/carer that too which is why I got told off on Monday). Alyssa dutifully reported that at the end of recess and lunch time was episode free!! Hopefully things will improve from now on. I guess I should re-emphasise to Alyssa that some things are not bullying, they're just bad manners. Wouldn't want her to turn into a complete tattle tale...

Went to see the movie 'The Savages' today. It's about a brother and sister who have to face dealing with their Father's dementia - like I needed more reminders of that issue.
Movie was OK (3***) but not wonderfully great or even moving.

MizT - yes a black background would have added drama to my name avatar but, don't worry, I'm perfectly happy with it as it is and I greatly appreciate that you made it for me.

Just going to have lamb cutlets for dinner. Soething not Asian.
This is our first visit to Malaysia and we will be back Sat.23 August.

We will also miss all the Olympics, which we love watching

June - That's not too good missing Laura's 3rd birthday, you'll probably feel that more than she will. I was going to say, you can watch the Olympics there but I guess there will be more to do than sit in a hotel room watching the Olympics!

Gail..she has settled in really well... slept well last night without someone coming and doing things to her all the time.
Took Tom back to her today and she probably missed him more than anything... is going to be quite around here without him barking and stirring Jess up.
Physio is coming to give her a home visit on Thurs - don't know how long they will keep up the visits. At least she is very close to the hospital. I will then take her into the hospital for an ultrasound appointment and hopefully that will be the end of the running around for a bit.

Interesting ruckus on easy today... don't normally get involved with commenting on easy but off course I had to add my own two bobs worth!!! Probably gone and ...AGAIN!!!

New series of 'Grand Designs' starts tonight on the ABC at 8.30 so I'll pop back later and hopefully catch up before you all retire for the night.

Hi all - I didn't say much on 'Easy' today apart from supporting what Broni said - saw the joke this am, seen it before, didn't think it funny then either but immediately realised it could cause friction. Then I went out and didn't read the posts until late this afternoon. I wouldn't go as far as Mickey/Michelle has gone in deciding to leave but I have decided that I will not post jokes any more and I will seldom post on 'Easy' - only general hellos and birthday greetings. I have felt less and less comfortable there in recent months. To me it's dividing into factions and I'd rather the friendliness of this page than the feeling of being either unwelcome, inadequate, humdrum or a jumped-up newbie.
Sorry I don't have a soapbox smiley.

If people do not want to read the jokes there is a box you can tick so the jokes do not show on your computer. Most of the jokes that are submitted I have heard several times before anyway.

It goes in phases CynB. It will settle down again. I don't post much there anyway, just the occasional comment, though I did post my times for a while just for Baz.

Hi everyone.
Very frustrating here this morning.
Keyboard decided to go haywire.
Would only type a and b letters!!
I was trying to fix it as I could not post but
had to go out and do messages etc.
Finally late this arvo I found the disc and reloaded the keyboard and all seems okay.

Can someone let me know roughly how long it takes from when you have used paypal to be a supporting member, for it to be activated?
It said I will receive an email.
