Mowing is finished. I need hubby to weed eat some, but he is busy doing plans for a paying customer, guess that comes first! Maybe next week I can hire one of the handyman's boys to come weed eat ( whipper snipper for the DUGs) , I think one of them only works weekends.

MzT - I'm afraid I can't navigate through any of the photo programs we have on our computer, I use the 2 websites suggested by Angie in the forum. They do limit me, but are better than left to my own limited devices!

Vici, you are welcome. the treat looks fantastic. I will save it till breakfast, no choccie or caffien after noon for this wimp or will not sleep tonight. It is a pain, espically when hubby wants a chocolate cake for his birthday. I made sure I get it baked just fore lunch. He always to cut it son as it is done. If he wants seconds at dinner, I have something else.

Ally's eyelid is swollen and sore. The chemist thinks it's a sty. I've never had one so don't know what they look like early stages!!! He gave me some drops and we have instructions on what to look for and when/if she will need to be taken to the doctor. Better than 8 hours in casualty/emergency room!

Heidi - have fun at the horse show...

MizT - wonderful coffee, my mug has tulips on it today.

Vici - I can never remember the sizes things are supposed to end up! Much easier to use the online program, though things often end up cropped where I don't want them cropped....

I'm feeding the machine, trying to do all the washing before I have to leave at 9.30am. Ebob has baseball training in Wollongong again today. This time it's just me going with her so hubby can do his homework and Ally can rest her eye and clean her room. When I get home I have my first pamphlet delivery.... that's when I'll find out if I really want to get my exercise this way!!!!

My daughter had what I thought was a sty, remember it vividly, on the friday fore we were to leave on vacation next day. Took her to the doc to get something for it, so it would be better sooner, rather than later and . . . .


It was not a sty, but the first breakout of CHICKEN POX. No vacation for us that year!

A sty is an infection of an eyelasy folicle that usually clears by itself in 5 to 7 days. Warm compresses to the eye every 3-4 hours while awake can help the sty to drain and be more comfortable. Taking Tylenol ( your name for it??) can help relieve th e pain. Washing the eeyelid along the lash line with a no tears baby shampoo might also help. Keep the eye closed and wash with a cloth, rubbing gently but firmly.

OK, that is what I got from reading the self help stuff on the medical sites, and what I remember doing years ago for my sister and later my daughters who had them occasionally.

If it is not better in 5 to 7 days, an antibiotic cream for the eye might be needed.

Heidi... 6 hrs since your last post... you should be home from the Quarterhorse Show by now...how did it go?

Suzy..is Ally's eye itchy at all and how sore is it? Screaming sore that you can't touch it of course needs to be seen [sooner rather than later]. If she can bear it bathe it in salty water - normal saline if you have it or 1 teaspoon in a 2 cup of warm water.

Have you an eye bath... can be bought from a chemist. Check out this on antique eye baths..http://www.glswrk-auction.com/mc09.htm ...my mum used to improvise with a vegemite glass or roll rim plastic medicine cup. The second paragraph tells you how use them.

My daughter rang to say that it is snowing in Emerald, the town next to us. I went outside to see if it was here but even though it is cold enough to make a brass monkey very uncomfortable, it is not yet snowing here.
Emerald is higher in altitude than we are so we may not get it. She said it was not landing as snow but when you look through it, you can see the flakes falling.
