Just the two youngest are home now. Brendan is in Italy with his Uni soccer team playing soccer and Meghan is still in Cairo. She's written a few more articles for Daily News Egypt,but her classes and internship is now done so she can relax a little and do some sightseeing. She won't be home until the 27th. Bryana leaves for school the 28th.

Brendan comes back from Italy on the 17th and I'll pick him up so he can come home and get his stuff for school. He has to be back at school by the 20th. Meghan has to be back at school on the 30th. So I'll be doing a lot of driving in the next few weeks!!

I'm working on organizing all of my pictures while I'm watching the olympics. (so it feels like I'm doing something productive.) I'm running on very little sleep which I fear will catch up with me soon. It's a good thing we changed our phone to cable in order to talk to Bryana while she was in Spain, otherwise I would only be able to see the pathetic coverage NBC is giving on its main station. You would think that they could at least preempt the Saturday morning cartoons. The main covrage is terrible!!

I guess I lost you MizT, so I'll be off to eat some breakfast! Hope to check back later and everyone have a fantastic day!!!

Stella, I went to take meds and the dishwasher said it wanted emptying, and the over flow dishes needed to take thier turn inside, so It took a bit to get back here! Sorry I missed your and gails leavtaking.

Having a great time. Wonderful food but do not need three full meals a day!!
Feet and legs are swollen with the heat. omething that has not been aproblem for me before.

Maen everyone! I just spent an hour catching up on the posting I missed over the past 24 hours! Whew! So much going on, probably will miss responding to some of the happenings posted.

Had a pleasant drive to my brother's and was hanging out in the pool with my dancing niece when Craig (bro) got a call that one of his firefighters was killed. We are a firefighter family (husband retired Captain, me retired firefighter, SIL retired firefighter and bro still active battelion chief)

Anyway - a ff of his who just celebrated his 55th b'day on friday evening was cycling on his day off and was hit by a motorcyclist. It was a huge shock to the crews and department and my bro and SIL went up to Santa Clara to be with everyone yesterday evening. Haley (niece) and I spent the evening watching the Olympics until midnight...but wasn't able to check in.

Sure miss you guys...

YEAH, good to see Vici reporting in. so sorry to hear about your brother's friend, such a shock to all I am sure. good you were there to entertain your niece. How old is she anyway? I remember seeing that lovely photo of yer, but age is hard to judge.

Retired firefighters, imagine that. NOT ME! I have a fear of being burned, no way I going into a burning building. but I do have a healthy respect for fire and am to a degree fascinated with it. fire is alive. It breathes, takes in nutrients and converts them to energy so it can grow, produces waste, and it reproduces itself. Yep, it is alive!

It did turn out nice to be able to hang out with Haley (niece - 13) alone. I don't get to see her so much because the family is so busy and she competes in dance most of the year.
I got to tell you, there's nothing cooler than getting to go in with a hose into a burning structure! Hardly happens, though. Most of our calls are medicals.

Hi All...Much catching up to do....Not sure I know about the cruise or party that folks are getting dressed up for...but I'll be there.... I saw that some costumes were also being bandied about....What about a long flowing blond wig, and my fantastic cyber viewed body in a pose often found on ships....will that be acceptable??? Hey Dino, you and I can act as keepers of the male dancers....we must keep them safe from some of these 'wild' ladies

Vici...So sorry to hear about your brother's friend being killed in such a tragic way. Firefighters are a special lot. My area is served by these special men and women...they are willing to put their lives on the line, and in our area they are all volunteers.....Remarkable people! You really can't pay them enough money even if they are making a living at this. I feel the same way about many service oriented positions...well must run, but will be back. Peace!

I get my liquid lunch in a bit, just had the last bite of solid food for a while, a bite of protien since that is totaly lacking in clear liquids.

OH TRICIA! I remember the joys you are about to experience well from my first visit @ 50...get to go again next year - whoopee! Mike got a clean slate after his test for 10 years! How lucky is that!

you know i was thinking the same thing about fish in the car. heidi you are one selfless person! i am trying to as hard as i can to get rid of the gold fish i got. i was trying to appease the kids' want of a dog. it didn't work so now we have the dog (which i love) and a gold fish that i hear can live for longer than the dog!! i can't bear to just let the fish die (my 17yr. son's suggestion), but no neighbor kids will adopt either. guess i will keep feeding it and clean the bowl once a week.

stella i too am an olympic nut. i grew up without a tv in our home. however, every four years my parents would rent a set for the olympics. needless to say they are a special treat for me.
