Ahhh June, no problem really, just had to tease you a bit you know. i get CRS all the time, so you can catch me in a senior moment soon to even the score.

Bringing up grandaughter right, loving the jigsaws already. Way to go!

I would have put a stop to the same video again and again also, grammies can tolerate only so much.

when does Lauren go home to Mom? Know you are glad to see her come for a visit, but also glad to see her return home .

Bean, How lucky we are, being struck by lightning TWICE and still have a house. Too too often a lightning strike will cause a house to burn!

I guess I am of the cup half full faction today and so thankful for what did not happen.

GAIL it was you who was holding the door for me to walk right into a TOPP,

I think I have come up the list, but no where near first or second. ROLANDA, about time for a new list to be posted? Need to check on my new standing.

I have been busy busy , trying to fill out my medical history for the new doc. I went by to fill out a request for medical records form so they can contact my former doc ( changed doc to get the plan I wanted, and happy about that) I am glad I got the forms early not NEAR enough room on that one page for all that needs to go! And I could never have filled it out acurately in the time waiting for the doc, I have been working on this intermitently over 2 days and still not complete.

Well Laura has just gone home. I am exhausted and my back is aching as I have picked her up when it is a no-no. She wants the video on but does not watch it all the time. Finished up with 'Riverdance', one of her favourites.
Cooked a pork roast and now everyone has gone and after a busy day guess who got left to clean up the kitchen??

MizT, we had a surge arrestor put on our electric box a few years ago. We were having power problems. Two years ago, a power pole down the road caught fire and fell over. This caused a massive power surge that the surge arrestor did not stop. It actually fried the arrestor and still went into the house. We have all our TVs, computers and other stuff like that plugged into surge protectors in the house which did work. When we did lose things (a few years ago) plugged into surge protectors, we never had a problem getting them replaced.
During our power problems, we had a light bulb explode. Amber had just walked under it. Now that was scary. The power company rep just said "I never heard of that happening". Did they think I made that up?

Amber's softball team is playing a game against the parents tonight at 9 PM so they can play under the lights. Amber is rather excited about that. She wanted to know how bright the lights are. Should be lots of fun for the girls.

Morning all!

Love your avatar Rena.

You should be off having a nanny nap June after your day with Laura! Mine are past watching the same video over and over again, but I remember those days...

MizT, cup half full is the only way to look at it!!

Gail, I love it when you post your menus, I always get ideas from them! I can't copy them though - I don't know how to cook half of the stuff!!! Which reminds me of another anecdote...

My grandmother was a terrible cook. Every night she would put the meat on to cook (lamb chops, whatever), and then start peeling the potatoes. The veges were always mushy, and the meat burned to a crisp. The only meal that worked out right was a baked dinner because you're meant to put the meat on first!

Strangely, this terrible cook could make the most magnificent sponges. She never measured ingredients, but her sponge cakes were the lightest, fluffiest, yummiest sponges I ever had.

The other day I told my mother I had made some more banana bread. I had also made some while she was visiting last time. What did Mum say? Your banana bread turned out so good! You're just like your grandmother with her sponges!

SUZY, when you said Grandmother and her sponges, I was thinking the sea creatures, not a Angle Food Cake, as the sponge cake is called here. Cound not work out what sponges had to do with recipes at first hehehe

Gail, I figured that one slipped by you too, you were so close to a TOPPS. OH, I have not topped the list since back on SA1 I think! Comming up in the world, or spending too much time here lately.

Grey, damp humid day today, luckily a bit cooler. we have ahd 2 rains already today, slow gentle soaking in kind of rains, with no t-storms.

RENA, Al just bought another surge protector , that even the incoming phone line
comes through, and it has a $45,000 guarantee to protect or replace equipment up to that price. That is on my computer/phone cause i am where phone first enters the house.

Hi MizT, although similar, sponges are actually a little different to Angel Food cake. I have had both and I still can't explain the difference, but I think there is more 'air' in a sponge cake.

Just popped in to find a food topic. Yum! Suzy, you're right. Sponge cakes have whole eggs (whites and yolks, beated separately), while angel good cake has only the whites. I love sponge cake, and if anyone thought to write down your grandmother's sponge cake recipe, I would love to have it!!!

Hi Jane, she didn't have a recipe! That was the weird thing. That and her complete inability to cook much else that was edible. I notice noone is mentioning how bad a cook I must be to be compared to Nana... how diplomatic of you all!!!

Good Evening Ladies and Gents of SA#5.....good reading today...an easy day , had early chores and shopping, and a lazy afternoon reading and playing on the puter..what could be finer...not much......lots of reminiscing on TV regarding Tim Russet....a big lost in assessing political responses and issues, and a great person all around based on the comments...he will be missed for many reasons by many! So sad during this Father's day weekend. His son has just graduated from college, and his father, whom he adored and wrote a best selling novel about their relationship survive, along with his wife....only 58b years old!

Jane, your jokes on easy had me giggling this morning...

The secret of my family's survival - hubby does most of the cooking. At least he did until he started going to school 3 nights a week.
