Morning Viv
I can't wait until next year when they will be on the same bus. This year one leaves at 7.50 and the other at 8.40. Next year both 7.50....

Oooh, and the home arrival, this year one gets home at 3, the other at 4.30, next year both 4.30. So they will both leave home more than an hour before school starts, and arrive home more than an hour after school finishes. Hmmm. Ebob loves the social part of the delay. Wonder if Ally will too.

Thank you Broni, the why bother was just right, thank you muchly. I had a nice nap, and some food, well some soup, still not up to real food yet. Maybe tonight, OH, hubby went into a shop on the way home, we needed laundry detergent and cat litter, he came back with hershey's chocolate for me. That was the nicest chocolate in that particular shop, and when he does something like that, i remember why I keep him around :)

I was always happy when school started after the long summer holiday. Kids were really glad too, they bored to easily by the third month. Now along about mid year, I was wishing for school out again, it was cold and dark when we got up to get them off for school, and would have enjoyed staying in the warm bed longer.

YES, children who do not get ready for bus, you must make it THEIR problem, not yours. My niece had plenty of warning fore the bus ran, it went past her house, honked the horn, and continued 1/2 mile to pock up other children on that dead end street. then turned back in it's tracks. To far to walk, ansd staying home that day was too much to her liking. So my sister's only way to amke it her problem was, she had to go to the bus in whatever state of dress or undress she was in. After going in sock feet one cold morening, carrying her shoes, and with no coat, she decided she might could get ready to go on time.

I like it MizT. A couple of years ago a friend was complaining about a horrible mother who had sent her child to school with half of their PJs still on. I told her that was exactly what the books said to do!! I've never had to resort to that - so far. The thought of walking 6km, and as the bus leaves over an hour before school starts there is plenty of time, has been enough.

If I have black tea..
the tea bag is being pulled out as the water is poured into the cup..
I like it weak - that is how the dutch have it.. weak and black.
Got into the habit of having milk in the tea years ago, because not everyones weak tea is weak.. gets a bit too strong.. so in goes a dash of milk.

The tales about kids catching buses made me laugh. When I started nursing they packed all of the 'newbies' into a big old mansion in Toorak and bussed us into the Royal Melbourne every day. The concept of the bus waiting for stragglers was not a goer. Missing the bus earnt BIG demerit points.
At reunions we still laugh at the vision of me running down the hill chasing the bus with a bag of books in one hand and most of my uniform in the other....in those days it used to take a while to get dressed...stockings and suspenders, lace up shoes, dress, apron/pinafore affair over that, belt, cape, fob watch and frilly cap on top of a head without a hair in place!!!
Don't know how but it happened at least once most weeks!! The Toorakites must have been greatly relieved when the student nurses moved out!

meant a hair OUT of place...at that hour of the morning after a sprint chasing the bus there wasn't a hair in place...maybe that was what i meant!!

Hey I want a Tim Tam!

Those little sweet hearts have been bothering my beautiful perfect child again. Do you think I could sneak into the school and steal their pencil cases? I wouldn't get into trouble for that would I?

Well I have finished searching for spongebob pictures (marine studies assignment....) so I'm off to take d1 to gymnastics and to let d2 have a go on stardoll...

Hubby is at TAFE again tonight so I might get back later.

Gail, I think the msn probs might be something to do with my firewall.
