Howdy Kate, it's been great to get your holiday updates. Hope the weather is treating you kindly.
Just had a note about a member from Brissie who is coming down to Melbourne in a couple of weeks, and I said I would arrange a meet of some sort (cuppa, meal?) while she is here. Her page name is Katitude, and she plans on being here from the 10th Jan for a few days, so let me know if you are around then and would like to get together again.

Thank you for your good wishes and I'm sorry I haven't extended mine to you sooner but things were pretty hectic at my place over the Festive Season with family staying with me.
I had a wongerful Christmas with all seven of my grandchildren together for the first time, so it was extra special.
I hope your Christmas and New Year were as wonderful as mine were.

Hi Kate, Thanks for the reply. I thought that's what it was but since mine was probably only 1/2 german shepherd, I wasn't sure. He was a really great dog, but had the bad habit of escaping his collar to chase bikes--which is what did him in. I live by a very fast highway and he didn't see the car behind the bike. He was the best protector of my children when they were little, and although the kids are all grown up now (the youngest is in Africa in the Peace Corps right now with his own dog) I still miss 'Putch'.

Kate, so great to know you are back in town.
I am sorry today did not work out but I think you were greatly needed elsewhere.
I would love to catch up with you very soon, maybe in the next couple of weeks when the wound is not so raw.

Hi Kate thanks for your concern about the fires. Does it bring back memories of the 1994 fires? You would probably have been in the thick of those in West Killara! We had smoke, ash & burnt gum leaves in our yard (we lived in Willoughby) from West Chatswood then. It got up to 36 here yesterday & today it was already 29 at 9.30. At least it's not humid, so it's easier to cope! I've walked from this house through the bush to a street near Albany Crescent!!

Hi Kate, If I had known you were in Goolwa I would've popped down for a coffee at Hectors (and watched the river dry up together). Sounds like you had a great time.

Welcome Home Kate! Loved your pictures on facebook - what a fabulous trip that must have been. Do keep me posted as to your daughter's pregnancy...I'm anxious to hear about her delivery and have her and your son-in-law in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry to hear of your MIL's passing. How astonishing, the timing. At least that means in one way, the anniversaries are over very swiftly each year.
