Hi again Noemi...I first found this site about a month ago or so, and just liked doing the puzzles...even got my 5 year old daughter hooked on the kids one. Anyways, after a month, I was sold. I finally decided to join.

Hi Noemi. I dropped in just to say hello, but I read your comment to Mamacita. It must be dreadful to have to live in a state of fear, but it is happening in many more countries then Israel. I hope the current talks between the Fatah party and the Hamas will lessen some of the Gaza strife, but history doesn't point that way. Take care, and hopefully a lasting peace will come to your lives their soon.

Hi Greg,
I usually do not like to discuss politics on the net because it is very hard to do so. I dont know if you read all Mamacita and my correspondence regarding this issue - it is important to do so to put things in context. Yes, it is a tensed life we have here - but we dont live in a state of fear !!!! We try to have a very normal life - travel , concerts, beach ,normal life , live , love , build , enjoy . It has been quite quiet in the past few months and we can feel the relief , but we are reminded from time to time that peace has not come yet ( the last suicide bomber in Eilat last week for example ) . We genuinely want peace , we are trying and I hope we will be able to reach it as soon as possible. It was possible with Egypt and Jordan , I hope it will be with the palestinians as well . Who could have imagined 15 years ago that an israeli could walt on the streets of Morocco and feel completely secure ? I was there , I was in Jordan and I felt very OK. So there is hope in our hearts. By the way , you are saying that it is happening in many countries - I guess you meant the fear , but this doesnt make me feel better . NOONE should live insecure in his own country !

Enough said Noemi. No politics. However, my heart reaches out to you and everyone who lives in a climate of political strife. As you have said, life goes on regardless, and everyone lives their own lives daily. Just glad you are on the site, you have such a positive attitude and can add your insight to the experiences of all the rest of us! Cheers!

Hopefully this will work. lol, Noemi, as you can see this is my third try in responding. I also think it will be the last until we are able to discuss things via email just so we are free to say what is in our hearts as well as in our minds. As a second test, I'll submit this and then go into my comment.
Mamacita 2  From Pa
I certainly understood why you were unable to respond sooner after hearing such distressing news about the senseless act of murder against innocents. I too heard the news and felt it deeply. I agree with you that all to often, these terrorist acts are about power. It does not matter that innocents die, as long as those who have power retain what they feel is their fightful status and those who don't have power attempt to gain it. I also understand what your words so passionately conveyed regarding the term 'apartheid'. I agree that it is a very harsh term. As for 'abuse', it can often be racially motivated. I have been witness to such acts. However, like you, I feel violence begets violences, and does not have to be tied to racism. I don't understand why a peace-loving man such as Jimmy Carter is, would feel the need to purposefully use a word such as this to underscore his feelings. He has been called to task and has had to explain and to apoligize, which he has done, although he has not backed away from his use of the provocative word in the title of his book. American Jews were quite upset, many reacting just as you have stated your feelings. This is what prompted my question regarding the acceptance of his book in Israel. I don't know if his actions have amelorated feelings or not...time will tell. I find it so uplifting to read that you and your countrymen refuse to allow terrorist to distroy the enjoyment of life and all that it offers--- what a powerful message this sends to those who wish to see you quake in fear! I have a heartfelt prayer for world peace, and will continue to pray for it, however I do not think it will happen in my lifetime...yet hope springs eternal! Noemi, my friend, continue to live, love and enjoy, but please do your best to stay safe. Shalom!!

Hello Noemi....thank you for visiting me. Yes, I am a little besotted with my gorgeous granddaughter....lol

Hello Noemi, I'm sorry that my being away for awhile caused you to worry, but I really needed to recharge my batteries because I have been dealing with a pretty full plate of stress busters for awhile. Things are looking much more positive from my end right now. Thanks for your expressions regarding the death of my friend as well as your visit. Kathy forwarded your very deeply felt email. I hope she also sent you my email address. I did ask her to do so. Regarding your reactions, they were what I thought they might be in all of Israel. I think I too would feel as you if my country were being accused of the practice. Even with my knowledge of the history of America's racial attitudes and practices, They would pale in comparison in many ways to what I understand apartheid to have been. That being said, perhaps those who are saying these things about Israel, have seen attitudes and practices regarding treatment of those who differ from the masses, either by race, religion or color, that to them, seem to hint of, or are reminiscent of some of the apartheid ideas or practices. If this is so, I would think that those Israelis who are peace loving and seek only a safe country to live and grow, would need to uncover and denounce such practices if they are found to be going on. I wish many more well meaning people had spoken out against the evil practices of Jim Crow as it was practiced in America in an attempt to end it well before it really flourished and became the evil that it became. It is in the silence of good, well meaning people that evil quickly grows, undetected until too late to stop it. Too many think it doesn't affect them, or that there's nothing they can do. It is then difficult to rein in. This in no way precludes defending self or country. Israel has been in the forefront of being willing to defend itself, which is the only reason it has been able to flourish. Without this resolve, it would have have fallen victim to its many neighbors who would like to wish it away. I have found this to an admirable strength of your wonderful country. As I have gotten to the end of this long comment, I now wonder if I should post it? I am going to go ahead and post it, but please let me know if in the future, you'd rather I not use this venue for these types of discussion. I hope I have not offended you , nor am I taking sides relating to any issue, but I am pointing out posible reasons for this now coming up from others. Stay safe my friend. Shalom

Your anniversary marks the day
when you both said, 'I do.'
The two of you became as one,
a marriage bright and new.

32 years have passed
Your love has strengthened and grown
into eternal affection and admiration.
As both of you know.

As your love continues, warm and bright;
May it shine throughout the years;
Congratulations to you both
you’re an example for the rest of us,
so here’s to you:
32 cheers!

Happy Anniversary Noemi and hubby! I'm sorry you couldn't be together on your anniversary. Here's to the next 32!
Mamacita 2  From PA.
Nomei and hubby, It gives me great pleasure to wish you both a very happy 32nd anniversary. Time will come when you are together to reflect on your many years together. My 51 st will be coming up in a couple of months, and I wonder if the time you two have been together seems to have so quickly gone by. My hubby and I find it hard to believe that time has passes so soon. I remember every thing like it was yesterday, and I'd do it even sooner now that I have enjoyed it so much. With all of that being said, I can only wish you the same happiness I have found. Congratulations.

Noemi, thanks for your visit, the flowers and cake. All are most appreciated. Sorry to hear that you have been ill and I do hope you had a chance to celebrate your anniversary with Ervin before you became so sick so soon after your trip.I was very happy to hear from you today since you were really on my mind. I wondered if I had offended you, but hoped you were just very busy. Is Ervin going with you on this trip? Get plenty of rest so that you can tell me how you rest when away...lol. No matter, enjoy your family time, rest can wait until another time.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Noemi! Thanks for the message. Have looked at the photos you've posted so far and they are great. Did you go to Italy especially for the carnival time? I've heard that the carnival in Viareggio is supposed to be the most colorful in Italy. How lucky you and your Mom were to be able to enjoy it!

Noemi - your photos of Venice are absolutely gorgeous. I do envy you being there during carnivale time. It must have been unreal. I love your photo of the gondola on the canal. It brought back beautiful memories as Venice is one of my favourite places that I've visited.

Noemi, welcome back. It is so good to hear from you before I go away. This coming week I will be on a short business trip, and in another two weeks or so, I'll be leaving for Florida for about ten days. I'm looking forward to both, for different reasons of course. I've just revisited your flickr site and greatly enjoyed carnival time. Beautiful pictures. I think your photo with the jester costume is fabulous! While I'm in Florida, I'll get your email address from Kathy. She did send me one of your emails, but I couldn't open it at the time, thus I don't have yours now. Kathy will be back from her trip and we do expect to meet.I hope it will happen this time. Great having you back near enough to comment and we can continue our other discussion at a later time. Please visit again soon. I enjoy your conversation.
