Back on the straight and narrow today with 10,810 steps and no real sins. Cos I finished the marzipan before I went to bed. Couldn't face 2 naughty days one after the other. Must be good tomorrow, weigh in monday morning How did you do today? Is it still too hot to do much outside? Or are you still armed with a paintbrush?

Rosemary, you keep posting all these pictures of sexy looking women on your page! Are you advertising for men in Oz? Oh, and hello, how are you doing?

Glad you have cooled a little bit and are able to walk in more comfort. The rain has stopped here for the moment but it has left the river bank too slippery for safety so you could say ' I'm walking the streets!'
Good luck at your weigh in, every little helps.
I only walked 4500 this morning but will try and walk the same again this afternoon. Off to make fresh fruit salad. Thats all I eat before lunch and I'm running (wish I actually could!) late.

Rose, Good on you. I wish I had the foresight to get fit and healthy before my 50th. Do you think I could loose 10kg by Sunday? LOL With all the birthday cake and goodies looming I have put off my start to a healthy new year until Feb 1. Hubby and I are both keen to lose some kilos and get fit before it is too late.
Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to more of your weight loss tips and stories.

Congrats, Rosemary and snap - we have both lost 5.6 Kg Never sounds much as kilos but it is still 12.2lb. My next target is to reach the stone gone. which is 6.3Kg. That figure looked so far away on Jan 1st and is now in sight. Maybe not this week but next for sure. I am ahead of my step challenge for Jan(250,000) needing only to average about 6500 a day till 31st.
Thank you for all your support, I think I may have succumbed to temptation more if it wasn't for letting you down if I did.

great effort
bet you do feel heaps better.
I have just returned from a 6200 step walk which added to the 1500 walk I did earlier and my normal daily steps in between I reckon I have done enough today.

Way to go Rosemary! I'm still going to hang in there for a bit yet, I just wish it were a nice time of year for us. We got another 6 inches of snow Saturday (1/20/07) and could get another 2-3 today (1/22/07) so walking outside is dangerous, but I have been using the treadmill. I went to a birthday party Sat. night and drank club soda, my friends asked me if I was sick! I said no, just trying to follow in some footsteps that a shining example for me! Keep it up Rose, you inspire me

Yes Rose, the big one is this week. The visitors from interstate have started to arrive - 3 yesterday, 1 today, 1 on Thursday and another on Friday. By the time I get to Sunday and turn 50 I will be exhausted and probably feel like I'm 80 instead. Then we will be lonely because they will all be going home by Monday afternoon at the latest.

Rosemary, I raise my glass of water very high to you. You have done an outstanding job and I'm so very proud of you and the others on this site who are doing a great job. I include myself too. What I'm really proud of, in addition to my progress, is that I still have half of that 3 oz candy bar left. I'm going to treat myself over the next two weeks with it. That's got to be a record, a 3oz chocolate bar lasting three weeks.lol Keep on doing it right and I will surely see 'less' of you. Peace!

I only managed 6289 steps today as we had freezing rain all day and now it is snowing. Also Houpette my dog appears unwell. If no better in the morning we'll be off to the vet. She just wants to sleep.

Morning Rose, well you are sleeping right now, but I just read your comment on my page about being at a harder part because of the weight loss the past 6 months, so I am sticking with that theory! I really did think about that and hope that is what is happening. Thanks for all of your support!

Rosemary, I sincerely believe that you are destined for sainthood! To be able to disperse so much support and cheer to everyone else as you are undergoing your own challenges, is a wonderful thing to behold! Good luck with your own quest, and bless you for making everyone else's a bit easier! XO

Thanks for all the encouragement. Are you still walking and swimming or do you alternate? I've had to invest in another pair of boots as the snow and rain finally rendered mine non waterproof and there is nothing worse than walking in wet feet(inside the boots)

Terrific, Rosemary, congratulations. Sorry for starting all the ''lost day'' stuff with my post. To console you, Mr P did it too. We had daughter and SIL over for tea on Friday, and after they left, settled down to watch telly, and Mr P disappeared outside, came back in and sat down. I had a bit of a think about where he'd been and why could that be and said ''You know it's not Saturday, don't you?''. He was a bit perplexed for a minute, then said ''Oh, so that means I can't put the sprinklers on tonight, can I?'' He was confused for most of the weekend too. lol

Hi Rose? How did you enjoy the tennis? I was disappointed with the Federer/gonzalez match after the first set, but enjoyed seeing Serena claw her way back.

One year we should try to get to Wimbledon on our birthdays!

Rose - 6.1kg ! WOW. Well Done.

I wish I was doing as well............never mind - the 4+ kg are still off. I took A to karate training last night and everyone was asking when I was coming back. I told them 6 more kg (just so I can fit back in to my Ghi), so a couple of them have given me 6 weeks and then they're coming around to drag me back to training. lol.

Hello Rosemary!

Since you asked, I am having a pretty disgusting year so far! I have to keep reminding myself that in the scheme of things all are just minor setbacks, and I am not hungry homeless or terminally ill, and none of my loved ones are either.

In the last week alone good thing a friend lent us her car because she needs to get the miles up on it for tax purposes, so we drove up to sydney and back and spent five days up there. Bad things: put my husband's new mobile phone through the washing machine (christmas present from me, now totally useless), pen leaked into my runners, so every time I wear them I get a bright blue foot (despite bleaching them), and worst of all, decided to stop at Glenrowan and then Milawa trying to find the perfect foodie present for our friend who lent us the car, and somewhere in this vicinity the ruby fell out of my engagement ring (so small not worth looking for). I know it's only a stone, and in the scheme of life a blah, but I feel like crying every time I look at my ring - Al my husband says it's been there for so long it's time for another anyway but that's not the point.

Time to start job hunting now. I got nervous in the last interview and started cracking jokes again, needless to say I didn't hear from them again!

Hope all is well for you
