Thank you, Angie. Brings me back to my youth! Loved the fashion in 'Nights in White Satin' Better than what the young men are wearing nowadays, huge baggie pants with a rear cleavage.

Hello Angie - that costume is absolutely brilliant. What a clever person you are. Good luck in the competition but looking at that photo you don't need much luck, you've got the skill.

Hi Angie! Haven't had much time for the site lately, but DID have to make time to check out that costume you've been working so hard on! It's a real masterpiece! Do other mothers sew costumes do or do some have to resort to buying them? In the scoring is the costume considered in addition to the dancing? Will your daughter dance a traditional Polish dance? You can answer here & I will come back to check another day. Others may be curious, too!

Hi everyone, thank you all for your wonderful comments about the Costume.
Kathy
Mothers that can sew, make thier costumes others have them made or may buy one that someone no longer needs. Unfortunately the costumes don't add to the dancers score, it is mentioned on the 'crit' sheet as a 'nice costume'. I can only hope the costume is so good, that the judges don't look at my daughters feet. LOL. As for her dancing a traditonal Polish Dance, she will be dancing the Polish Krakowiak, these dances are based on the orginal dances and are modified to show Ballet Techinque.

Angie, it is a beautiful costume. You must be very happy with the way it has turned out. I don't sew any more - it's much easier to buy. My boys wore lots of hand made track suits and shorts when they were smaller though.
I hope you don't have too many more costumes to finish.

Hey Angie, Thanks, Angel! I have also put a moving tribute to the ANZACs on my page ... 'Lest We Forget' Chat soon. xox

Thank you Angie for a very moving tribute.Despite the song I don't think the people of Australia will ever forget: and we give thanks on the 25/4 not to glorify war but to remember all the many men and women who have served our country.

Hi Angie. Just watched the Anzac tribute. My kids are in marching this morning. Isn't it great that the kids no longer ask 'What are they marching for?', but take pride in the day and the spirit, and are doing everything to ensure that there will always be people to continue the march. Thanks Angie.

ANGIE, THANKS FOR A TOUCHING TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN ....LEST WE FORTGET!!!! It is a time to remember and pay tribute...I only hope we Americans will be as forthcoming in tribute of our fallen heroes as those we see from our Aussie and New Zealand family! I had not thought of Waltzing Matilda as a song of tribute when Harry Bellefonte introduced it to our country...but after learning of its meaning here on site last year, the lyrics have become even more meaningful! Thanks to all of you for helping me to understand!

Hello Angie - these days not too many people know about the fleet leaving from Albany except mainly locals so I just thought that I would mention it. You have nothing to worry about because you may not have mentioned it. I probably only know because I live here and have seen photos of the ships all anchored out in the Sound. What a sight that must have been.

Angie, thank you for your best wishes on my wedding anniversary on Tuesday. I can't say your song today applied to me or Kev - we weren't too young to be married. At 26, I was probably a bit older than the usual bride in the early 80's and hubby was already in his 30s. It is still one of my favourite songs and I love all the songs by the Hollys (have a favourites CD).

Great costume and great song lyrics. All teenagers need to really hear that song! Perhaps they'd be more aware of whats in store for them, and know its not the rosy picture that they may have imagined. Is this an Australian group? I've never heard of them...but then again, I haven't heard of a lot of todays performes.
