There are so many questions that will remain unanswered forever. Captain of the Titanic- What would you have done differently with hindsight?
Elvis, why did you ruin your life and talent with addictive substances?

Guess we could get a lot of questions answered if we did this exercise in a room together (like here in Sudokuland) - I could eavesdrop in on everyone else's conversations.
You're right, GMo - so many unknowns!

Vici, if I could go back in history and ask questions, it would be with the people who decided to build Stonehenge. But I'd need a little more than one or two questions! I'd need a whole afternoon with them!
I have ALWAYS wanted to know: Who built it? Why'd they built it? How'd they decide upon design? Why the blue stones all the way from Wales? What part, if any, did astronomy (the Solstice & Equanox) play in the design. How they figured out how to get the stones all the way there & up? There are lots of theories, but I want to REALLY know!

Rayray... yeah, I know...a bit OTT.....
BUT I love my poem...I'm going to have to frame it and hang it on my fridge.
A 2 way plunnel - now that is a thought. I'd better get to work. The plunnel will go direct from Hawthorn [in Melbourne] straight to Rayrays back yard. I'll postpone departure until you get here.

MizT...Rayray air freighted me an industrial excavator last November..[to help me plant a very large number of English oaks. Regrettably its huge carbon footprint has cancelled out the benefits of planting all the trees but what the heck.... I have had heaps of fun on it.]

Good one Shiela! I want to eavesdrop on that one for sure - wouldn't it be interesting if you were asking these questions of ETs?!

ummm...Jane....it is you I'll be waiting for but anybody else that wants to join me is welcome!

This is very late for me to be up...Lachie is rather unwell... didn't go to school today because of a sore throat which has now stirred up his asthma and he / we are in for a very unsettled night. A fun day tomorrow no doubt with a trip to the doctor...

Catch you all later. Ciao.

Three guys die together in an accident and go to heaven.

When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven... don't step on the ducks."

So, they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place.

It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first guy accidentally steps on one. Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest woman he ever saw.
St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly woman!"

The next day, the second guy steps accidentally on a duck, and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing, and with him is another extremely ugly woman. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first guy.

The third guy has observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly woman, is very, VERY careful where he steps.

He manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to him with the most gorgeous woman he has ever laid eyes on ... a very tall, tan, curvaceous, sexy blonde.

St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.
The guy remarks, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"
She says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck."

Mo, there are actually 7 continents by my map.
Since I only get 4 stops I would have to get to Europe somehow. Maybe have to fly back to Cairo, then to Morocco, take the ferry to Gibraltar that is fun. Would use different modes of transportation for my tour of Europe. Most likely a cruise on the Mediterranean, also have to do a cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg, I think there is a train that does Sweden, Finland, Norway. Would see some by car that is always fun. Have to see Ireland, Scotland, Wales & more of England maybe even search for ancestors while there. I of course would have to revisit all the countries I have previously been to. I origianlly planned one year in Europe don't think that is enough time maybe will need two years. I guess there are not many places I don't want to go.

OK here's today's math riddle - answers in my inbox please!
Hare and Tortoise had to take a make-up class in math over the summer, a two-month, self-paced course with a test at the end of each of 12 chapters. The course requires a 70% grade to pass.

In the first month, they both had difficulties with the concepts. Hare averaged 60% on his exams; Tortoise averaged 50%. Owl, the supervisor, spent three days of the next week helping them with their difficulties.

It worked. In the second month, Hare averaged 90% on his exams; Tortoise averaged 80%.

However, Tortoise got a passing grade of 75% in the class; Hare failed with 65%. When Hare protested to Owl that he'd outscored Tortoise in both months, Owl made Hare do the math on the board -- and sign up for another make-up class, after school in the fall.

How did Tortoise pass while Hare flunked?

Maybe I would choose Eve (not our resident one, the biblical one!) and ask her what variety of apple she bit into!

fine Mo, no brownies left! Gearing up for a stormy night here - nothing like Florida, but after a scorcher of a day, it's going to be a wild night!

Ok, here is PART II of my Fantasy Voyage:

After demolishing Australia and leaving her bereft of Aboriginal antiquities (by the way, thanks for your help in this regard, Bean), I plan to head for England via the “plunnel” which Bean so nicely provided.

Arriving in Rayray’s backyard and demanding a proper high tea, I will hire a car and chauffeur since Rayray doesn’t own a car if I’ve read previous posts correctly (tut, tut, old boy, you really should put your guests’ needs above your own, you know), I will tour the country, making sure to tell all the Brits I encounter that “they sure talk funny”.

Stonehenge will be on my itinerary since somehow I never got there on previous visits. Not really interested in the history. Just want to be able to tell folks back home that I’ve been there, done that – and all that rot.

Before I leave for France (via the chunnel), I’ll spend some time in London so that I can offend the locals with my typical tourist attire: tank top, short shorts and Crocs with socks.

Ta ta for now!
“The Quintessential Ugly America”

PS: If you missed PART I of my voyage, here it is:

My first stop will be Sydney, Australia, where I'll board a train for a complete tour of the continent. I would love to meet up with any of you Aussies living along the train route and would sure appreciate receiving a nice boxed lunch or two (no Vegemite, thank you very much) along with some nice Aussie red if you can swing it.

Since I'll want to go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, I'll be sending an exterminating company over first to clear out the box jellies and blue ringed octopi and anything else lethal hanging around in the water. (Or do you Aussies keep them around to sic on the tourists???) Hmmm. That's an interesting thought.

Also, since I'm planning to spend several months, if someone could get me comp tickets to the Australian Open tennis tournament, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm not too fussy. Seats in the players' friends & family box would be ok.

Oh, and I'll be bringing a box of trinkets with me to trade for some authentic Aboriginal antiques and artwork or, if you have one, a nice island about the size of, say, Manhattan.

Sincerely, "The Quintessential Ugly American"
