I'm near Chicago and enjoying the summer months, riding the bike to work to help defray gas costs - mainly as I have a 16 yr old driver who can't seem to help not gunning the car oh, my, this too shall pass. Enjoy your day, Mary

Gday, all! to my home page. I've been doing puzzles for a while, but don't have a lot of time to frequent these pages due to family & travel commitments. So make yourself at home, and I'll get back here when I can.

Hi Jim! I saw your post on 'easy' and popped over. I seem to have missed your move in! So, another belated
I've cooked up a of Maryland Cream of Crab Soup for you. I live very near the Chesapeake Bay, home of the Maryland blue crab. I'm in a very "crabby" area!

Hi Jim
Looked at your place after your great humorous news round-up today.
Skiing must have felt strange after Alice Springs (that's where I originally thought the Springs was - now I know there are Springs in Colorado as well!
Good luck in Tokyo

Hi Jim, Thanks for the stop by on my page. Welcome to Sudoku and we would like to have you post more ... especially us guys. We are outnumbered. Linda and I love Colorado and particularly the Springs. We rode our Gold Wing to the top of Pikes Peak on one of our stops through your great area. And thanks for the name for those locks. I thought I remembered they were the eastern most locks.

Whoa Jim! Your letter from the CEO is very interesting...you should send it to the New York Times. They are always spotlighting "real People" mostly from the employee's viewpoint - not looking at the boss' problems. Your home looks beautiful - a bit different from the southwest coast of Florida!!

The Japanese will take any opportunity to celebrate. BTW there are 47 Irish pubs in Tokyo, and countless English Pubs (like Hobgoblin: http://www.hobgoblin.jp/) in the Tokyo area. The folks around Tokyo must be keeping them in business...
The funny part about the Japanese is that they have a different word for EVERYTHING (...to steal a line from Steve Martin...)

Before I forget - and I notice that Fiona has beaten me to it - I want to thank for the story about the peacock. That is a truly fantastic anecdote - one to treasure. I am still laughing about it.

You don't think that maybe conservatives are just being selfish. Maybe they just want to keep what they have.

Wow, you must be as new as me, you are still on your first page too.
Regarding fruitcakes, I was once frightened by one as a child, and now I run screaming any time I see one. So I would never catch one on purpose! Have a happy weekend!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Know that you have a family (a sudoku family) here for support. We may not see each other face to face but we share times together, albeit on line but we still have conversations to know each other. I send hugs and prayers for you and your family. You'll be in my whereabouts. I still work but if you can post where you'll be.

Jim, sincer condolences for your father's passing.
These first few days are going to be a numbing blur, and very hard to get through.
I promise you, sometime in the future, it will be easier, and you will be able to think of your father and smile rather than feel sadness.
You and your family are in my thoughts

It sounds like he lived a full life, and I'm glad you will have many happy memories to ease you through your mourning. My sympathy to you and your family....Jane
