I've cooked up a of Maryland Cream of Crab Soup for you. I live very near the Chesapeake Bay, home of the Maryland blue crab. I'm in a very "crabby" area!

Jim - just popped in to see you gallery. Great pictures...we have lots in common as I love to ski (although I'm into cross country more these days) and LOVED visiting Denali. Will go back some day.

Linda and I love Colorado and particularly the Springs. We rode our Gold Wing to the top of Pikes Peak on one of our stops through your great area. And thanks for the name for those locks. I thought I remembered they were the eastern most locks.

Oh, Jim, if only it were possible to hire and fire based on bumper stickers.

Whoa Jim! Your letter from the CEO is very interesting...you should send it to the New York Times. They are always spotlighting "real People" mostly from the employee's viewpoint - not looking at the boss' problems. Your home looks beautiful - a bit different from the southwest coast of Florida!!

The Japanese will take any opportunity to celebrate. BTW there are 47 Irish pubs in Tokyo, and countless English Pubs (like Hobgoblin: http://www.hobgoblin.jp/) in the Tokyo area. The folks around Tokyo must be keeping them in business...
The funny part about the Japanese is that they have a different word for EVERYTHING (...to steal a line from Steve Martin...)

Before I forget - and I notice that Fiona has beaten me to it - I want to thank for the story about the peacock. That is a truly fantastic anecdote - one to treasure. I am still laughing about it.

Hi Jim, We are north of Tulsa on hwy 75, it's only 30 miles to Kansas. My husband was Marine then Navy for a total of 32 years. We moved here from Florida after we retired, to be closer to family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Know that you have a family (a sudoku family) here for support. We may not see each other face to face but we share times together, albeit on line but we still have conversations to know each other. I send hugs and prayers for you and your family. You'll be in my whereabouts. I still work but if you can post where you'll be.

These first few days are going to be a numbing blur, and very hard to get through.
I promise you, sometime in the future, it will be easier, and you will be able to think of your father and smile rather than feel sadness.
